Hello everyone. I'm currently a student here in Duisburg. I have applied to extend my visa last year, but since I didn't have a current job contract, they gave me time till this year January to get a work contract that is valid for at least 6months. And as such I did with monthly income for almost 1100 Euros), and I sent the contract to them. They they said that it's not enough as the 6 months is probation time. I even went there as I had already booked an appointment earlier and they told me that I need to have been working in a company for minimum 6 months and need to show a contract for another 6 months. Due to this reason they gave me a Fiktionsbescheinigung for 3 months. They even sent me a letter stating that I was mistakenly informed about this from another person from there (that a work contract of minimum 6months is enough).

Then I had no other way but to get a sponsorship letter. I got it from my home country and then they said that who ever is sponsoring me (in my case my parents) have to go to the embassy and get a sign from there. My parents did the same and I sent a copy through email and also through post. Just yesterday I got an email from yet another person from the Ausländerbehörde that, they can't accept it. That my parents should get a Verpflichtungenserklärung from the embassy directly. But they don't do that, as my parents bank accounts are not from Germany.

I seriously don't know what to do, I have exhausted every option because getting a blocked account again is a huge financial burden for my parents and asking them again is just not right.

So can anyone please help me. Any advice to extend the visa without blocked account.

My mate and I are coming over from Scotland next weekend and are doing a bit of “ground-hopping”. We are going to be attending the MSV Duisburg – Sandhausen match at 2pm next Saturday and are then going to be travelling to Gelsenkirchen for the Schalke 04 – Fortuna Dusseldorf match at 8:30pm.

I have a couple of questions for anyone that is familiar with going to MSV matches.

First of all, is there anywhere in downtown Duisburg that the fans gather pre-match to get a few beers/lunch or are we better heading towards the stadium? We will be travelling up from Dusseldorf Hbf (and as you’ll be well aware there’s regular trains between the two cities), so will have some flexibility on where we can go pre-match.

Secondly, how long would it take to walk from the MSV-Arena to Duisburg Hbf? Or if it is raining, is it quicker to get the u-bahn or the local s-bahn to Duisburg Hbf?

I have been trying to find an affordable gym near my apartment. I don't have a car so I will take my bike. Fifteen minutes of bike ride is no problem, but I am not sure what would be the case after a leg day :D

McFit has an option of 30 euros a month, then from the 7th month, it's 25 euros, and from the 13th month is 20 euros. It is cheap compared to fitpoint, which has a huge fee without a contract and a massive registration fee. A Small local gym that may not be listed on Google is fine. The only requirement is free weights like 40 or 50 kg dumbells. Machines for chest press, fly and shoulder and hack squat, leg extensions, curls and leg press.

Genre ist flexibel. Von Familien spielen wie King of Tokyo bis hin zu Kenner und Expertenspielen wie Eclipse, Wasserkraft usw usw. .

Falls jemand Bock auf sowas hätte. Meldet euch doch gerne. Und btw. Ich bin 35 Jahre alt, falls das irgendwie wichtig für euch sein sollte l.

Hi everyone. I am moving to Duisburg next month, to Neudorf near the Hauptbahnhof exactly and i was looking for nearby gyms. However lots of reviews are negative on most gyms. So i was wondering if you could give me some advice.

I prefer monthly payments or six month contracts

I don't need personal trainer or supervision

All i care about are machines and dumbbells

What i have found till now :

1- Ai fitnessstudio; it's in walking distance but reviews say it's not that great, i know reviews aren't always accurate so i hope someone goes there can give feedback. Also it's quite expensive at 45 € monthly and there seems problem with terminating the contract??.

2- McFit; i aill have to take the train and reviews aren't great as well. Cheaper at 30 € monthly.

So what do you guys think ?

Seitdem ich in Duisburg lebe und in die Innenstadt gehe sehe ich jedes Mal einen bärtigen Mann mit afrkanischen Wurzeln der alles zusammenschreit.

Er trägt ein großes Buch mit sich rum (wahlweise auch einen Besen, weswegen wir ihn den "Besen-Magier" getauft haben), und schreit ununterbrochen einen unfreundlichen Monolog in einer Fremdsprache. Das geht seit Jahren so und er wird weitestgehend ignoriert.

Ich habe noch nie mitbekommen dass die Polizei gerufen wurde oder er sonst irgendwie die Schranken gewiesen worden sind.

Weiß jemand was der Kontext mit ihm ist? Kennt man ihn? Ist er harmlos oder gefährlich?
