Roommate Searching

I am going to college next fall and I am wondering whether it is worth it to try and find a similar a roommate through the RoomSync app or if it would be better to just get a random roommate. I will be in an all engineering hall so I know that my roommate will at least have a similar major and probably be academically motivated. I signed up for the RoomSync app a couple months ago and have yet to receive any messages. I really don't know how to phrase a message saying, "Let's room next year based on a short description I read about you online." I also only have about half a month before I head off to work at a camp this summer with limited internet so at this point random seems easier. Any advise is welcome. Thank you.

Need everyone's help with helping a friend keep his suitemate in his suite.

Hey guys, my friend's suitemate really wants to leave the suite because he doesn't like his roommate, but my friend really wants him to stay. He cut a deal with him that if he posted a status with 500 facebook likes asking for him to stay, he will "strongly consider" staying. If you guys could contribute by just liking this that'd be cool as hell and it only takes like 2 seconds. this is really important to some people https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=1223776484347130&set=a.176685409056248.50552.100001443691344&type=3

Stumbled on DormIQ.com randomly at 3am last night. If only i found this when i was first looking for housing...i would have avoided the building with the shit coming off the ceiling and the 6am garbage trucks

Survey About Dorm Entertainment

Hey everyone, I'm an Industrial Design student and am designing a space-efficient entertainment center for dorms or very small apartments. Right now I'm just trying to get some first hand info from other people who live or have lived in dorms and how it affects watching tv, playing games, or other forms of entertainment. If anyone could spare a few minutes and fill out my survey, that would be awesome. Or, if you would just like to leave some comments here, that's great too!

Here's a link to my survey. It's only ten questions!

Thanks for giving this a look.

Dorm room wall sweating? Any help appreciated!

Hi, so I've only made a few posts on reddit so sorry if I mess anything up on this post. So, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask a question like this, but I'm not quite sure where to look for advice. I go to school in a very cold place and my room is a corner room with two exterior walls. My bed is in the corner of these two exterior walls and I thought it was a great sot for the bed until this happened! So we got a big snow recently, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with this, but it might be important. I noticed the other day that the corner where the external walls meet was wet! All my pillows that I had against the wall were damp and there were droplets of water in the corner of the wall down slightly below the corner of my bed. I felt around the area and there was no water above the edge of my bed, just below that and where my pillows were against the wall. I notified the RA and he just said to let him know if it gets worse. I mean, it hasn't gotten worse, but I don't want my wall sweating randomly and I don't want my bedding to mold. :/ I was thinking it might be an issue of condensation since I've only noticed this happening when I'm sitting on my bed. Maybe heat that I put off and the wall being ice cold is making water condensate there? I honestly don't know what else it could be and I can't think of a solution other than moving my bed. My main question is if this is a big problem and has anyone else experienced this? Sorry if this is the wrong place for this!

/r/talesfromtheRA- read/post stories about annoying residents, penis graffiti, cleaning up puke, or other ResLife things.

Are you or were you an RA/CA during college? If you have wild stories about the nightmare that was homecoming weekend duty, or if you just want to vent about an annoying interaction with your residents or a DSJ program that only other RAs showed up to, I invite you to /r/talesfromtheRA. It's a new subreddit that we'd like to get going. We welcome all sorts of tales, positive or negative.

I hope to see you there!

WE'RE BACK! ^-^ A whole new start for r/dorms

Hey there everyone! I am DevilMama, the new mod for this subreddit. I am a Reddtor who attends college when the master permits me too. I have so much stuff to share about my school and college life in general and found this abandoned subreddit, so I decided to try and get it going. TIME FOR A FRESH START!

You may be asking: Isn't this just like r/college? well.. yes and no. There will obviously be a lot of overlap, but I hope to keep informational articles, and things like that off this page. Were not here to talk about colleges themselves or major campus issues, r/college has that covered. This is all about college living and dealing with being there. No advice about financial aid or anything there are counselors for on campus either, as previously said, you will get much better help elsewhere.

Feedback and mod mail is totally fine! I like to hear complaints, it helps me fix stuff. Lets get this subbreddit off the ground people =)
