This was taken right before we took the “T” for the first time. Neva had never trained in a subway atmosphere (we live in Nashville) so I wasn’t sure how it would go over first try. We were in town a few days early to see my mom graduate from Harvard and I just wasn’t feeling my best this particular day. I remember being more nervous than I knew I needed to be. My mom insisted I take a picture to remember this cool moment for us as a team. It wasn’t until I looked back at the pictures of our trip that I noticed she was looking at me like, “Dude, we got this. whatya worked up bout?” And of course everything went totally fine haha It took her a beat to get used to the stretching of the rails, but after a moment she seemed to enjoy the rocking and the people watching. This kid is the best. Thanks for letting me gush. K, bye! ✌🏻
Jack the Therapy Golden is doing his part (cuddling everyone!!!) to help LA fire victims and first responders coping with stress and loss.

I get to take her to a pool nearby so she can cool off
From invasive to endangered species, from the plains to the mountains or even on the water, these dogs have a ball sniffing for data for wildlife research. This is my partner Hugo on a training exercise in Colorado. So far we’ve worked on wind farms and surveyed for carnivore scat, but the future of conservation dogs feels almost limitless. If you’re an Instagram user, you can connect with us @science_sniffers to learn more.
