Hello. I previously posted about my dog, Gerry, who works for me as a Hearing Dog.
Today he’s decided that he will be pursuing a slightly different job. And he wants to know if he should continue with this new role, or go back to being a good boy hearing dog.
Enjoy, and happy Halloween 🎃
It's been a year but I decided to celebrate with him again.
Mobility Assistant since 6 months of age, Ozone has over 9 years of service! His friendly manners and prowess as a physical service animal astounds people wherever he goes. He loves being mobile and we’ve traveled nearly 8000 miles together with his mobility aid!
We want to find a good puppy soon to train up under him. A puppy smart enough and strong enough to take up his lead as he matures. We can all travel and have an astounding time together then!
Shaka, her treats ready to pass!!! We did some off leash recall training today. She is progressing well!
This is my psychiatric service dog. Kodo is amazing. DPT, distraction, he’s very good at his job. The bestest boi.
Lately, however, he won’t stop working even when I say “release.”
He’s been following me around the house and doing DPT against my ankle when I WFH.
I am very anxious about the election. I am trying to help him dog so he can take a break and his command no longer works.
I’m working with a therapist, I am on anti-anxiety medication, and I try to limit my elections exposure (though this hasn’t been going so well lately TBH).
The change somewhat coincided with a change in medication where we removed one I had been on the entire time I have had him.
Is it possible my new chemical makeup is the issue? Do I just weather this out? Do we need to redo some training? He gets a yearly refresher course.
Ironically, not being able to “fix” this is causing me anxiety.
He did amazing for being in his teenage phase, lots to work on but honestly I’m so proud of him
If you saw my last post here you'll know Mocha struggles with people near her rear end.
She has gotten so much better, is tucking her tail in public, and is mastering downstays now.
I appreciate all the feedback and support ! ♡
