Need suggestions on remedies to help my dogs skin issues without going to the vet.
My dog (German/Belgian Shepherd, 3yrs old, Male) keeps getting a darkened spots on his stomach and side between his backs legs, that eventually split open due to his movement. He also has really bad wounds all over his paws that are constantly bleeding & causing him pain. He has severe ache, if that’s what you’d call it, on his face (i clean out his food bowl daily). I’ve tried anything i can think of & have flea meds on the way that have worked wonders in the past & can now finally afford them again. i know it’s not his food causing this, i’ve spent weeks/months, even years, testing that out to make sure. I thought it could have to do with the weather because his skin gets darkened/rashes only sometimes but now i’m just starting to realize this happened no matter what the weather is. i know it definitely has something to do with fleas & that he could be experiencing really bad allergies (flea dermatitis) but can this all actually be just from fleas? His flea pills should be here any day now but i don’t know exactly what to do even once they get here because anytime his wounds start healing he doesn’t let them, im guessing cause they get itchy once they begin healing. i got him many different dog cones to make him stop licking himself, as well as dog boots/shoes but the shoes just fall off no matter what and also any pressure hurts him too bad and makes the wounds almost worse with any trapped moisture. And with a dog cone, he starts tearing up his with his claws by scratching more often since he can’t lick. If anyone has any suggestions on what i could do to improve his paws/overall skin i’d seriously appreciate you so much for taking the time to share anything with me!
Btw, things i’ve tried so far are:
Is it normal for a baby cockapoo (2 months old) to be doubling in size within 2 weeks? I’ve been feeling him 3 times a day and letting him drink water out of his water bowl whenever he wants and I feel he’s getting a bit chunky. Am I over feeding him and giving him too much water? Also his poops are soft and mushy like mashed potatoes. Is that normal?
She lived a good life. 17’s not bad.
Just want to post my dream doggeh and let some laugh. Boxers are the most goofiest, loving and fun dogs. Anyone else have a dream doggeh?
