Has anyone out there attempted to compile a list of the possible causes and fixes for emulsion issues? Is overpowdering the bark a possible cause of emulsion? Are heat, salt, lye, and water the only four solutions for all emulsion issues?

I've heard so many different variations of how long you are supposed to inhale and hold it for.

I've heard anything over 5-6 seconds is overkill.

I've heard it needs to be 20 seconds to properly get it all into your system.

I've heard people say they hold it for 45 or 60 seconds.

I know everyone may have a different method, but do we have any real consensus on what works best and how long you need to hold it in for?

Dmt cart turned this deep brown red color after couple months of non use. I just re melted all the crystals in it but not sure if the solvent has changed color or expired. Not sure if it’s safe to hit pls advise.

Hey, I tried to extract dmt for the first time and it went well until the last step. I put it in the freezer and wait approximately 16 hours, then i drain the naptha and yes there was some crystal but when i put it to dry on air it disappeared. What could i do wrong? Could i extract it bad and it was just frozen water? Thank you for advice

Can I use zippo fluid, and 💯 % crystal lye drain opener or nah? Also I can't get lab shit delivered to my house so where would one get lab equipment like flasks ad pipettes at?

if your freezer smells like naphtha either because you spilled some or your dish wasn’t sealed, try this:

soak around cotton balls in vinegar and toss them in the bottom of your freezer. after a few days, the freezer should have a light vinegar smell without any hint of naphtha and you can remove the cotton balls.

large amounts of naphtha in your freezer is not safe and will become a bigger problem. this is only for small amounts so you don’t have to thaw out your freezer. you may also need to throw out any unsealed food packages as extra caution

I wonder, why every guide suggests you should mix base with solvent gently. Isn't it true that if you shake it, solvent will have more contact with alkaloids in a base?

Or is it only because of formation of emulsion?

I’m new to the philatelic scene.

Just started out on shrooms and some tabs, when I asked someone what dmt was, they said it’s acid/lsd.

After a bit of searching, it’s totally different, but my question is, what is DMT. By that I mean, what does it come as, tabs, powder idk?

I did one extraction with something close to cyb A/B so far but I wasted material due to lack of experience, and the powdered MHRB I had did not easily separate from the vinegar, so I just worked with the sludge anyway.
I am wondering if my ideas to optimize yield and purity are logical for my next try.

Could I use something like 1M HCl too for the initial step? It would help "digest" the plant matter, and can be neutralized after without issue. DMT Chloride salt should work just as well, right? The molecule should not have an issue in strong acids I think. My thought was that I could save some blending work by using the acid on only sorta shredded plant. I would filter off the solids, and repeat the steps a few times, before neutralizing the pH and boiling away most of the water. This whole filtering and reducing would make it easier to extract a larger amount than just 100g.

From my understanding the DMT salt would be very soluble in aqueous solution, so the following washing steps can be done with just boiling with distilled water (which will remain acidic enough with the remaining HCl)

The recommended pH I read for making the freebase I read is 12-14. Is there any difference in how exact you get the pH? What happens if your pH is too high? Does it just need to be high enough, or are there advantages to the copious amounts of NaOH used in some teks? Maybe using table salt becomes more necessary if you use less NaOH, as your aqueous phase will be less polar and might not separate as easily.

Finally, I read some discussion of making hot vs cold extractions. Hot yields more by-products and polymerizes some DMT leading to less white result, but speeds up the extraction because more solvent can hold more DMT, so you need less pulls?
How hot are we talking here, 40°C, 50°C, like barely able to touch it without hurting? You don't want to flash boil the solvent either.

I would take the combined pulls, reduce them a bit in volume, wash it once with same temperature salted water.
Then reuse the same water and separation container with some fresh solvent to catch any remaining DMT.
Then further reduce the volume (until it shows first signs of becoming cloudy) , cover it all in a pyrex dish and let it precipitate in the freezer over night. Then quickly decant the cold solvent away to use next time, and let the whole thing air dry with a fan on low speed.

Depending on how it looks then, I would probably still do a re-X in Heptane, Just by heating it in a water bath and slowly adding Heptane until its dissolved completely. I would then use very small quantities of activated charcoal to take the color, filtrate it and wash any used glass with additional Heptane, reduce it to the minimum again and do a final crystallization by cooling down slowly to room temperature, then fridge, then freezer.

For the reducing steps, I thought about using a closed system, like a distillation apparature, so I make less stinky solvent gas and can actually reuse most of it.

Obviously not economical for a hobbyist, but I like tinkering and doing things well.

Oh I use wound petrol (mix of saturated C6 C7 hydrocarbons) as its not too expensive and still passes the evap test for extracting and pure n-heptane for re-X

Last year I used a glass bottle that had rubber/plastic seal in the lid. Are they okay to use. Pyrex dish had plastic rubber seal as well.

• I naphtha I have got comes in a plastic bottle. I heard distillation can purify it. How do I do distillation?

I had some old DMT sitting in a Pyrex dish. I dissolved it in naphtha. I water washed the naphtha (with distilled water) (did not add lye to the water) I’m not getting crystals. Do I need lye in the water for water washing if DMT has dissolved in the water

So let's say I wanted a simple as it gets recipe with instructions n such would help a brotha out? Thx

I just got a few bottles of dmt tincture. Now I’m wondering if it’s possible to get dmt crystals, by evaporating the alcohol, maybe by gently heating or just letting the tincture sit and evaporate by itself? Or maybe there is another efficient technique?

Fortunately due to the tray the mess is pretty contained, though it did splash pretty far. I wasn't wearing eye protection, and got pretty lucky not to damage the gift of sight.

Even with proper equipment, shit happens. Have a protocol for any potential accidents, double check your gear, and wear your PPE kids!

Funny enough since I started doing heat baths to my flask I’ve been getting pretty good yields.

I saw this on Amazon for $60 and thought it could work to extract more DMT and remove any emulsion.

Also I need it to make mushroom tinctures.

I’ll see what results I get after it arrives.

Seeing that it is impossible for me to order or physically find the commonly used root bark I found a solution that is to use the stems and leafs present on those stems to extract from.

Those mimosa trees grow all around the place I live on the streets so having to use a great amount of plant matter to obtain some tangible yield is not really a problem.

Now I heard that for steams,leafs..etc people's add a defat step before doing the a/b but is really be necessary, couldn't I just blend my plant matter and do watigottado ?

Also I got some acaia looking trees that grow around me too with blueish leaves and some spikes on the stems should I use too instead and could I ?

Received my Syrian Rue and getting in Lemon Balm powder extract today.

Planning to make a tea of the Syrian Rue of about 3 - 4 grams. Don't have the best recipe for that, but I'm planning to do a 2 to 3, 30 min boils and strains using additional lemon juice instead of vinegar.

After tea is done, I plan to reduce to tea cup size, let cool and add 3 - 4 grams of lemon balm powder to dissolve.

Administer about 45 min to 1hr before Freebasing 35mg through e-mesh. I know e-mesh isn't preferred and carts are the way, but it's all I got. Some even say you can reduce TC to 180 degrees fahrenheit, close air off and take small pulls without burning through all of it.

Any words of advice that can make this a better experience, or how I can do this better?

Basically followed SVG. Now have yellow DMT. Is there a purification process I can run my yield through to remove impurities?

Edit: I know DMT can appear yellow I just want to make sure I avoid any leftover lye, root bark, or naphtha that could be inside of what I’m smoking. Thank you 🙏

Edit #2: Thanks for the replies. Redissolved my DMT into NPS and did water wash. Will re-precipitate overnight.
