I have an 11yo son that loves art and has started doing digital art at school and is now asking for an iPad to work on art at home. I however don't know that ipad is the best for that and if so what model to look for. I don't have the biggest budget but I want to get him a tablet or iPad for Xmas where he can practice digital art at home. What recommendations would you give for devices that would be good for his age(11), skill level(beginner) and budget (300)
My desk is small so l'm trying to save free space for when I'm not drawing and doing something else on my desk like building legos and etc.
Thanks in advance!!
Yeah, What's the best pen/paper to digital sketching pad that supports debian/linux?
That would be great to know. Thanks!
….or the road to nowhere, can’t decide which one this is!! 🤣
I had the idea for this unusual path that leads from the country and up and out of view, and could kind of picture the shape of it, but really struggled to get it looking like I could picture it. I didn’t quite end up building a model out of mashed potato, but this is the 4th attempt out of 4. The others were much more colourful, but the bleak version you see here felt about right to me in the end. I’m still wondering what’s at the top of that little road….
Hello everyone! I have been drawing for years and recently have been interested in starting to draw digital art. I mainly draw comic/anime style art. My birthday is coming up and xp pen has some good discounts for black Friday. According to my budget I'm between xp pen artist 16 Gen 2, artist 16 pro and artist 15.6 pro. Are these good choices? I have also seen the artist 22r pro 40% off. Is it worth the extra 200 euros? Any helpful info is appreciated!
Hello guys. I wanted to start posting my digital art on x or bluesky but i dont know what should I choose. Which one has the better algorithm for new users?
How do pros control for color on digital devices?
Everyone's screens have different settings, contrast, warm/ cool tone shift, etc. On top of this people are using totally different kinds of screens (like LCD vs OLED). It seems you can't know how your art will look to other viewers. Maybe this is similar to the problem music producers have with how much a song differs based on the hardware it's heard on (car speakers vs headphones vs computer).
How do pro digital artists deal with this? Do they choose certain specs to 'target'? Is there some way they standardize their own display specifics? Do they just roll with whatever they have and accept their version of the art isn't exactly what other people will see?
I'm asking this because I was messing with monitor settings and realized mine has been on 'warm' color mode for who knows how long. The difference is subtle, but it makes me wonder if it is a bad thing to continue to paint without changing this.
Hi everyone,
I've recently taken an interest in drawing. I started with the very basic Draw a box tutorials and watched a fair bit of stuff online. While working on paper goes fairly well so far, ideally I'd like to work digitally as it better suits my purpose.
I currently have a Wacom volito (not sure if it's a volito 2 or not), which honestly just doesn't seem to work that well in Krita. I don't know whether the problem lies with me or with the tablet, but it just doesn't seem intuitive.
The good news is my birthday is coming up and my wife has been asking what I'd like. So I figured I might ask for a new tablet.
Now my question is. Would it be worth investing in a Huion Kamvas 22, 22 plus or 24? I see these recommended quite a lot, but I'm not sure whether it's worth it for someone as inexperienced as I am.
Hi guys! I am new to drawing tablets and after exploring for a while on internet I couldn't get an idea what to buy
So i have came across
Ugee m908 and Ugee s640
Anyone can give me advice on what to go for My work currently include digital painting and some assignment of sculpture
I have also seen wacom tablets but they are expensive as hell
I want to learn how to draw digitally. I plan to get the HUION KAMVAS 13 gen 3 as my first drawing tablet and now I'm looking for which version of Clip Studio Paint should I get.
Thanks in advance!
Not really wanting to go all out on an iPad so what’s the most affordable tablet but something that won’t lag or run crappy? Idk if this is the best place to ask but any advice helps!
I’m looking to buy something touch-screen that I can use for my digital art (and possibly -probably- writing, so keyboard compatible as well), a device with a decent bit of storage so I can save my references, and access the apps/websites I use for such. This is personal use, I’m not in school and I’m not yet pursuing income through this hobby, BUT I would like to eventually turn my writing into a career, and I want to be my own illustrator, as well as make art commissions for others.
I was looking at the iPad Pro because of the insane amount of storage but it’s so expensive, and it might have a deal where I can add it to my phone plan and it’s cheaper, but it’s still a lot for that. Adding the stylus, keyboard and case (like wtf it’s almost $700 down).
Honestly, when it comes to digital art and being a creator I’m well aware you get what you pay for in terms of materials, so I’m not unwilling to spend a pretty penny, but I’m still curious if anyone has some suggestions/alternatives I could check out. I had way more resources early this year but unfortunately my family and I’s house burned down, soo..
Anyways, thanks for any advice given.
Hey guys I'm confused to which drawing tablet should i buy from amoung these options, previously i had Huion h950p which stopped working, and in my budget i have these options, Xp pen deco 640 or deco 640 or Ugee M908, they are ranged in similar prices with the Deco Fun S being the cheapest. Which one do you guys suggest and if you are using any from these please give your review!
So, I'm still in the learning process, I can't say what bothers me about this drawing, so any tips would help me a lot.
I’ve been trying to learn new things in digital art but nothing sticks out when I try to do my own things it never comes up as guided from the countless tutorials and I haven’t progress not found a art style in a long time including I’m still struggling to learn values for the past several months
New install of Corel 2023, new install of Win 11, fresh workspace from corel painter. 4080 with annamazing cpu, lots of ram. Corel wont stop crashing.
Im using windows 11. Is it that? Im using watercolor, but at only 2px, so its not like its that. I have brush acceleration on. Im literally laying maybe 300 of these very small 2px lines in 4k and it works fine, no lag. But then it will randomly freeze, and then crash 100% of the time after any freeze.
Genuinely stressed. I constantly save, but just lost hours and hours of work after a glitch caused a layer to replace another layer, it got saved over, I noticed the mistake and slowly started undoing, but it immediately crashed when trying to do this.
I really feel like its abandonware, I cant find a single professional using this. I really really like the brush engine, Ive made quite a few brushes that are the backbone of my style and am too many thousands of hours in to quite now.
My significant other says its like watching an abusive relationship, which is kinda accurate with how Corel 23 treats me even though I baby it.
