Is this bike worth upgrading with fox 38s, slx breaks, and fox float x2. And will it fit well
The 29-in Giant and I recently went downhill for the first time with it and loved it so looking to upgrade I'll take any advice on suspension parts like what's the best suspension to use what's the best clips all that
Hey everyone!
I’m an engineer with a strong background in research and development, as well as design and manufacturing and a bit of extra time on my hands. I’m gearing up to start a company focused on crafting aftermarket parts for mountain bikes and I need your help!
What are some common frustrations or problems you face with your current biking setup? Is there a component you wish existed but can’t find on the market? Maybe something that could be improved or completely redesigned?
I’m here to listen and learn from the community. Your feedback will be helpful in guiding the direction of my first projects. Let’s discuss what you'd love to see developed that would truly enhance your riding experience. Thanks in advance for your insights and suggestions!
Going to Whistler and demoing a bike for a week-long trip and my options are Session or V10- is one more playful/poppy than the other? Or are they both so similar that it won't really matter much outside of suspension setup?
I'm 6'1 and previously rode (and loved) my 2018 Demo size large on 27.5 wheels, but modern DH bike sizes have grown like crazy since that generation of 650B bike.
Thanks for the help!
Hi all!
I’m on the hunt for new tyres and wanted to know what you are riding out there. I always ride Maxxis DHF/DHR2 and I ride in southern Spain, so dry, dusty and a bit rocky type of terrain. I’ve been thinking of trying Assegsi/DHR2 setup but I was also thinking to try something new.
I’ve heard continental y doing good tyres as well. What do you think? Any other recommendation?
Gracias!
What are you lot riding. I’m riding a status 160 at the minute in size XL. It’s got a really short back end and all the length in front. I want something that has around 495-500 reach but isn’t stupidly long in the wheelbase. I have looked at the new 170 as it’s a slightly bigger bike so I could drop down to a size Large. Downhill bikes are absolutely massive so haven’t been able to find anything I like. If I look to drop down to a size Large they are way to short in the reach. The Nukeproof giga looks a good choose but they aren’t been made anymore and I’m. It sure if the carbon frames are that reliable. Just wondering what taller riders tend to go for.
I'm the farther of an 8 year old little ripper. Currently sitting top of the standing after round 2 of a 6 round down hill series. Round 3 and 4 are this weekend, we are going to morzine the weekend after. Not really bothered about the overall but he says he wants to race. It would be just typical to wreck himself before we go on a holiday I can't afford. What would you do?
Some of you who have been in this sport for some time (~2013) may remember the film they shot with Redbull riders. Looks like it’s no longer available anywhere, does anyone have a link or where to buy it? (Not the show that replaced it which is available on Prime but lackluster) thanks
I'm going to be trying some downhill parks for the first time this summer and I'm looking into some chest/back protection. They have lifts, so I'm not worried about pedalling in them much. I'm currently considering the Fox Racing Baseframe Pro sleeveless chest guard, Dainese Trail Skins Air Vest, and the Fox Racing Baseframe Pro D30 vest guard which is more protection and has the zipper for easier on/off. I like the idea of these for under jersey wearing and they all claim to be breathable. I really would like to hear anyone's experience with these but will gladly hear suggestions on alternatives. Thanks.
I ride a 2010 specialized demo 8i, and I’ve started to get competitive racing at trestle bike park. I feel like I’ve reached the limit of the fork that came on the bike, and I want to find a new one. My two hold ups right now are the fact that it’s a 26, and that I don’t have a lot of money to spare. I’m trying to work off the second issue, but I’m only 14 so that’s hard. I’ve looked at an older fox 40, but I’ve only ridden my coil boxxer and newer stuff, so I’m not sure what to look for. Thank you in advance!
I posted this over on r/MTB but here may have been the better choice. I will be going to my first uplift parks this summer as well as a park with long downhills you have to pedal up. I will be getting a full face helmet but I'm trying to figure out if an Enduro DH rated or full DH helmet would be best for me. Price does matter, so getting almost a 1K worth of helmets is not an option. I can do 1 very expensive or 2 reasonable priced for light and heavy. I would prefer 1 to do it all if that is even possible. I've narrowed it down to these helmets and would like some advice/personal experience on these. Thanks. With the current state of mtbs, is an enduro bike pretty much a dh bike. Just slap a dual crown and some smaller wheels and you pretty much got the same thing right?
