Some of you who have been in this sport for some time (~2013) may remember the film they shot with Redbull riders. Looks like it’s no longer available anywhere, does anyone have a link or where to buy it? (Not the show that replaced it which is available on Prime but lackluster) thanks
I'm going to be trying some downhill parks for the first time this summer and I'm looking into some chest/back protection. They have lifts, so I'm not worried about pedalling in them much. I'm currently considering the Fox Racing Baseframe Pro sleeveless chest guard, Dainese Trail Skins Air Vest, and the Fox Racing Baseframe Pro D30 vest guard which is more protection and has the zipper for easier on/off. I like the idea of these for under jersey wearing and they all claim to be breathable. I really would like to hear anyone's experience with these but will gladly hear suggestions on alternatives. Thanks.
I ride a 2010 specialized demo 8i, and I’ve started to get competitive racing at trestle bike park. I feel like I’ve reached the limit of the fork that came on the bike, and I want to find a new one. My two hold ups right now are the fact that it’s a 26, and that I don’t have a lot of money to spare. I’m trying to work off the second issue, but I’m only 14 so that’s hard. I’ve looked at an older fox 40, but I’ve only ridden my coil boxxer and newer stuff, so I’m not sure what to look for. Thank you in advance!
I posted this over on r/MTB but here may have been the better choice. I will be going to my first uplift parks this summer as well as a park with long downhills you have to pedal up. I will be getting a full face helmet but I'm trying to figure out if an Enduro DH rated or full DH helmet would be best for me. Price does matter, so getting almost a 1K worth of helmets is not an option. I can do 1 very expensive or 2 reasonable priced for light and heavy. I would prefer 1 to do it all if that is even possible. I've narrowed it down to these helmets and would like some advice/personal experience on these. Thanks. With the current state of mtbs, is an enduro bike pretty much a dh bike. Just slap a dual crown and some smaller wheels and you pretty much got the same thing right?
Had a sick day at twisted oaks in the UK, we learnt a new line, got like 20 if us to hit up the same trail and it went off so good! Lovee the MTB community! If anyone wants to see more look up wollys on wheels on youtube and Instagram, much appreciated :)
Headed to the Dolomites next September. Thinking we’ll get a day in at Fassa and then deciding between Mottolino and Paganella. Is Mottolino worth the extra drive?
I have a 2010 specialized demo 8, and it has the original avid brake levers. My issue is that the piston has broken off of the lever, so they still close the pads, but hang free when you aren’t touching them. When the flick all the way out, I can’t reach them. For a while I’ve just put a rubber band on them to keep them to the bar and within my reach, but recently I’ve started having issues with them becoming stuck out where I can’t reach them. And m, this being a downhill bike, I can’t risk that happening at a park. I can’t find the parts for this old lever, and I’ve had a hard time finding a new, decent dot fluid lever. I dont have the money to spend on a whole new brake system, so I’m stuck in a hard spot. Advice?
I have a 2010 specialized demo 8, that I’ve been cleaning up for the past year, it’s all new other than the front fork, a 2010 boxxer World Cup coil. I don’t like the feel of it, and I’m not sure what to do. I was looking around at other dh forks, and was having a hell of a time finding one in 26. My first thought was to get a 27.5, but I’m worried that it might be too slack. Does anyone have guidance?
