I always wanted to read d.gray man but I never did because i could not get connected to it but this time i gave it a chance and......it's one of my fav series now.
I cried CRIED so soo many times....i am literally crying still now because of the lingering feelings as i have just caught up to the latest chapter. Everything about this story is so good..
Living aside Allen( he is my most fav in the show, he is my baby š someone give him all the love he deserves) I love many characters too like Kanda, leenalee, Road, Tim etc. Because of the latest chapters, Allen, Mana and Nea are my current fav. My fav characters change in each arc lol.
Cross Marian was the previous Bookman Jr itās basically confirmed, does anybody have an other theory. Lavi is the new successor since Cross died.
So, in 20 years, when the story ends, who do you think that will be the heart? A character that we already know, like Lenalee, Lavi, or even a Noah, etc. Or a completly new character (from volume 29 and beyond)
Hello again, I'm back with the next part of the āfavorite arc DGM anime arcā survey after the previous ones got locked. These are the results of the previous poll:
As I expected, way less people voted for this, likely due to the filler. Still we got a total of 50+ users who voted. To those who bothered to vote, you all have my earnest thanks. The Order in crisis arc is the clear winner here with 35 votes, perhaps because it's the one with more content and canon material out of the three, but I'm also happy that the other two got some love as well, with the Lulu Bell arc getting 10 votes, which is not bad for an arc that is completely anime exclusive.
As for our next poll, here we're going to vote for the arcs covering the third quarter of the show as Allen's gang search through Cross Marian's whereabouts in the Land of the Rising Sun, from the heartwrenching incident with Suman turning into a Fallen One till the showdown in Edo against the Earl and the Noah, with four different arcs to vote from here:
Fallen One arc (eps. 051-056): The arc where Allen tries to save Suman after he becomes a Fallen One. Goes from the part where the Exorcists meet Anita until Allen's "death" at the hands of Tyki.
Level 3 Eshi arc (eps. 057-064): Arc needs no presentation, the title (pun intended) says everything you need to know. Covers Allen's stance in the Asian branch to recover his Innocence while Lenalee and the others fight the Level 3 Akuma Eshi in the sea leading to Japan.
Crown Clown arc (eps. 065-071): Arc where Allen awakens his true Innocence after having a realization of his goal during the attack of a Level 3 Akuma sent to retrieve him to Japan by Tyki. Meanwhile, Lenalee's group arrive in Japan and begin their infiltration in the turf of the Noah.
Battle of Edo arc (eps. 072-075): Lavi's gang and the Noah clash in the capital of the island as Kanda appears again in the main storyline to aid his fellow Exorcists. Culminates in the arrival of Allen in Edo to save Lenalee from the claws of the Earl before she's kidnapped inside the Ark, kickstarting the next arc. Honestly, in the manga this chain of events felt too short to be it's own arc, but the anime expanded it so much that I think made it stand on its own legs.
I know some people group the last three arcs into one known as the Edo and Asian branch arc, but I think they are distinct from each other to stand as their own arcs instead of simply one. Next time we'll have what is perhaps the most iconic arc of the entire franchise. Because it would easily outshine any other arc, I devised a fun way to deal with it for the poll. Stay tunned and if you please vote for this poll too. See you in a few days.
Can someone explain the story of kanda and alma, cause even if i've read the manga i didn't get it.
I saw a print of Tyki and I said to my friend "HOLY SHIT THIS IS TYKI FROM DGM" and the artist noticed and started talking with me! These two cards were 2ā¬ but I forgot to ask their Instagram š
I understand that he's the reincarnation of nea, but why would he team up or feel pity for road despite all her crimes, shouldn't he wanna kill her and stop the noah from exterminating mankind(I'm actually unsure if that's even their objective).
I also understand that Apochryphos is respinsible for Cross' loss od his innocence but then again, is he his best shot at finding the Heart since it seems like he knows its location, or at the very least is connected to it.
Idk, i just believei may have missed something in the manga
Ever since the Campbell flashback, I am super confused on the relationships between Mana, Earl, Campbell brothers, the 14th and Allan.
I'm aware not everything is also revealed, but up to where it has been, can someone explain to me what's going on and what more questions has been not answered, etc, before I continue reading further.
So I've been rewatching and rereading the anime/manga, and in ep55 (chapters 53-54) I noticed that when Suman's time runs out, his Innocence shoots up life force into the sky towards a black moon, with debris forming a spiral in the sky. Hoshino even takes the time to have a couple panels of the moon turning normal again, from black to white.
Is there significance to this? Is it just something to look cool, or could there actually be meaning? I seem to recall the moon being connected to the Earl in one of the oneshots (Zone? Continue?), and then there's spiral imagery with the whole Helix of Life thing, or the painting in Allen's first room at the Order ... Then there's moon imagery with Allen and Nea too.
What could Innocence be hoping to accomplish by expending a Fallen One's lifeforce in murdering innocents, then shooting it up as a pillar into the sky towards the darkened moon?
Hello. This is the next part of my āfavorite arc DGM anime arcā survey. First one was closed a few minutes ago, so before going to the options of this poll I would like to examine the results of the previous:
100 exact users voted, which is really awesome for such a small server. The winner is the Rewinding Town arc with 30 votes, with Crowley's castle and Ghost of Mater following suit. I'm a bit surprised about the popularity of Crowley's castle arc, while I did like it I wouldn't have thought it would receive so many votes (just three behind the winner), perhaps Crowley is more popular than I expected? On the other hand, I thought Ghost of Mater would get more votes since it's the only of the early arcs where Kanda gets a protagonistic role. I was also surprised that the Destruction of the Order arc was popular enough to get 14 votes, not bad for a comedic arc.
Now that the previous poll has been analyzed, we got with the new one. In this one, we'll dealing with the episodes that more or less cover the second quarter of the show, involving the fall of General Yeegar and the quest to find the Exorcist Generals before the Earl gets them in search of the Heart of the Innocence. This part of the anime is mostly anime-original with canon content mixed.
This time we have only three arcs to vote for, as one of them is quite long with 14 episodes (the second longest in the anime after the Noah's Ark with 19). Like in the previous post, here is a small resume of the arc along with the episodes covering them listed for those who have forget stuff about them:
General Yeegar arc (eps. 025-026): Deals about how Allen meets the eponymous General Yeegar and bonds with him before he's killed by the army of the Earl when he decides to get serious in his search for the Heart to end with Holy War. Mix canon elements with original material, as Yeegar in the source material is killed before we even get to know about him. Some people consider the manga events as its own arc in the manga, but I personally view it as a prelude for Crowley's arc.
Order in crisis arc (eps. 027-040): After Yeegar's death, Komui orders all the Exorcists to depart in a journey to find the Generals and bring them safely to the headquarters. Allen and Lenalee depart to find Cross while we also follow other Exorcists such as Kanda, Crowley and Miranda as they go through their own personal missions while the Noah gather with the Earl, who assigns each a determinate person to kill for his goal. The climax of the arc with Kanda's team defending Barcelona from an Akuma attack is an expansion of a a few manga chapters that serve as a prelude of the Suman incident. And speaking about Suman, he and other minor Exorcists also get spotlight here that they don't get in the manga. The arc also apparently adapted a few light novels too in some episodes, which is pretty cool.
Lulu Bell arc (eps. 041-050): Unlike the previous two arcs, this one is 100% anime original. Allen and his gang go through a jorney to the East searching for Cross, while the Earl sends the Noah Lulu Bell (along with the Akuma maid Mimi) after them to impede them from meeting the General. Later in the arc, they find a Chinese village where they meet a little girl who turns out to be compatible with an Innocence fragment, which they try to recruit as Lulu Bell attacks again intending to destroy her Innocence. Some people consider both the episodic part of the arc and the crystal girl part separate arcs, but I think they're the same as both follow the same plotline, so they're included in a single story arc here.
And that would be everything for now. While I know not everyone likes filler, if you please I would like you to vote to help me with the survey. Next time we'll start with the heavy hitters. I have also started Hallow and after thinking about it I think I will also include it in the survey. See you next time.
The earl has to run the HR department it is the only possible explanation for the horrible treatment of employees lol.
I'm not too sure which is the better option so any opinion would be appreciated!
Got it done yesterday took 5 hours!
Of course Allen would be the one giving him one. Itās no where near finished still gotta color and shade but i figured Iād share the progress. Just wanted to get away from making tattoo flashes for a bit šµāš« Iām excited for the new chapter and happy to see the fan base still active. I havenāt been apart of it for 10 years. Hoping for another chapter soon; I need answers š®āšØ
Goodnight yinz guys (Iām gonna be like Lavi in 10 minutes)
Iām trying to look for the panel in the manga where Mana told Allen to āDonāt stop, keep walking forwardā. Iāve been wanting to tattoo that phrase on my ankle as this phrase resonated so much with me.
Itāll be much appreciated anyone could share the chapter when it is mentioned!
I have finished the anime, liked it a lot and had a great time with it, even with the fillers. For that, I would like to know the opinion of the subreddit about which arc adapted in the anime (not counting Hallow) you like the most. Since the poll options are limited to six I decided to do it for part for part. This first poll covers the beginning arcs from the first to the 24th episode (pretty much the first quarter of the show).
The arcs featured in this part of the anime are (with the episodes covering them listed and a small resume for reference, taken from multiple sources):
Beginning arc (eps. 001-002/006-007): The very first arc. Where Allen and the Earl are introduced, Allen joins the Order and then meets the Earl in the graveyard where he remembers how he turned his dad into an Akuma.
Ghost of Mater arc (eps. 003-005): Allen's first mission with Kanda where he meets the singing doll and fights that creepy jester Akuma.
Destruction of the Order arc (ep. 008): A comedy miniarc where Komui creates a robot that goes insane after drinking cofee. I wasn't sure into considering a single episode as an arc, but I think it's self-concluding enough to be able to stand out as a separate arc.
Rewinding Town arc (eps. 009-013): The arc where Miranda appears for the first time and Road acts as the main villain.
Missions filler arc (eps. 014-018): A small filler arc between the Rewinding town and Crowley's castle. Basically two two-part episodes of Innocence retrieving arc (one about the legendary leaf of resurrection and another about a 1000 years old gladiator) plus a single episode where Komui goes nuts after thinking his sister is dating one of his subordinates.
Crowley's castle arc (eps. 019-024): Crowley's introductory arc and the one where Allen's eye evolves to a new stage after healing and seeing visions of his father.
I feel like it's gonna change soooo much about everything we know, don't know if I'm ready for that (even tho it's been 84 years that we've waited lol)

I've already spent hours searching for it at this point XD All I remember is that it was some kind of MAD fanmade opening/trailer that used the song "Plenty of grit" by megumi hayashibara. It was a shorter video around 1-2mins :( Even back in the day it was a harder to find video, maybe because of its title. Didn't have the obvious words in it but who knows if it's still out there to this day.
If anyone remembers that'd be amazing ;-; my soul needs this video
Allen is the Akuma of Bookman Jr.
If a person with an Innocence took on an Akuma soul, the Innocence would theoretically naturally cleanse it leaving that person intact. This would also give insight as to how Allenās monocle exists and maybe as to why he has white hair having taken on a characteristic of the resurrected soul. Itād support Apocryphos obsession with Allen and if he remade him, could just be āthe will of the heartā having a soul of the damned in the biblical sense, be the redeemer of mankind.
It would also support Manaās grave being empty despite Allen 99% having called the Millennium Earl to raise a soul. It could be that child Allen raised the soul of Bookman Jr who we see hug him and had his memory rewritten to think it was Mana or something along those lines.
I can keep going, but this chapter opens a few doors.
Where can I read the chapter 251 of d gray man in English please š
Sorry I put this under a different name, but I fixed it again really really sorry (I was 2 sick 2 even realise T-T SORRY EVERYONE WHO COMMENTED)
Hiii, I've had a moment and made 2 presentations about DGM... Since the story is confusing and paced slow, I thought I collect the most important facts/information about it, so we can keep up and theorize. It can be viewed as a short fandom wiki. You can edit it as well, if you would like to add something.
The 1. one is about the world of DGM, the 2. is about Allen and the Earl (both contain information about the whole manga so far, so be aware of spoilers!!!)
They do not have any references nor pictures yet, but I plan to add them. There are also might be inaccuracies (I made it from memory) and typos (English is not my first language), feel free to fix them too!
If you are interested, I also plan to make one for other characters and about the creation of DGM.
Have fun!
Sorry its kinda short now, I might make more
