I was just looking to get some advice on opening up a studio. I plan on getting a small office where I can record vocals and produce tracks with others but I just wanted to reach out and see if anybody has any tips on how to get customers. Im more of a song mixer but I also enjoy producing so I don't know if there a specific way I can market myself. Any advice is of great help thanks!

Me and my friend (17, 18) have been playing together for a couple years now and we’re looking for both a Bassist & a Guitarist. Our inspirations include: At The Drive-In, Drive Like Jehu, Black Midi, Unwound, Fugazi, etc.

A while back I was part of a group that met to perform and get opinions on songs that local songwriters were working on. It was a community for mostly singer/songwriters or duos and small bands, the types of groups that could play a small bar or coffee shop. Anyway I don’t remember the name and I’m curious if anyone knows of anything like this still going on. It was more than just an open mic it was an actual community of writers and musicians that helped each other. If there’s nothing like this, are there people who would be interested in such a thing? I’m just a dude in Allen, TX who just wants to make good music, spread positivity and have a nice time with friends haha. I’m a vocalist, I’ve been practicing since I was a kid & am still striving to get better, and I’ve been practicing guitar/bass on and off for the past couple years but not as good as my voice(not that I’m on the level of top stars, but). My key inspirations are the rise of Swancore/Post Hardcore, but obviously I’m not opposed to branching away from that, extremely open to hearing out ideas. I’ve never personally been in a band, but my brother is in a local DFW experimental Metalcore band, so I know bits and pieces about what goes on & I’ve sat in recording studios to watch the recording process. I would prefer an in-person project so it would simply be easier to communicate, get together to practice/record/play shows, but I believe if we work together a long distance project could also work.

I realize that if I don’t try now, I’m going to spend the rest of my life filled with regret & what ifs, and I’ll pass on that! I’m very determined to develop & create an amazing sound, make friends along the way and make countless people’s nights by giving them endless entertainment

Aight so I don’t really know how to start this lol but i’m 23 and i’ve been doing vocals and writing lyrics for about 4 years for shits and giggles and now I want to take it to a serious level.
