A while back I was part of a group that met to perform and get opinions on songs that local songwriters were working on. It was a community for mostly singer/songwriters or duos and small bands, the types of groups that could play a small bar or coffee shop. Anyway I don’t remember the name and I’m curious if anyone knows of anything like this still going on. It was more than just an open mic it was an actual community of writers and musicians that helped each other. If there’s nothing like this, are there people who would be interested in such a thing? I'm looking for a bass guitar teacher who can give me 1-2 lessons on proper technique for holding the guitar. I cannot find a position that allows my left hand to remain free of wrist strain and it's preventing me from building stamina.

I’m just a dude in Allen, TX who just wants to make good music, spread positivity and have a nice time with friends haha. I’m a vocalist, I’ve been practicing since I was a kid & am still striving to get better, and I’ve been practicing guitar/bass on and off for the past couple years but not as good as my voice(not that I’m on the level of top stars, but). My key inspirations are the rise of Swancore/Post Hardcore, but obviously I’m not opposed to branching away from that, extremely open to hearing out ideas. I’ve never personally been in a band, but my brother is in a local DFW experimental Metalcore band, so I know bits and pieces about what goes on & I’ve sat in recording studios to watch the recording process. I would prefer an in-person project so it would simply be easier to communicate, get together to practice/record/play shows, but I believe if we work together a long distance project could also work.

I realize that if I don’t try now, I’m going to spend the rest of my life filled with regret & what ifs, and I’ll pass on that! I’m very determined to develop & create an amazing sound, make friends along the way and make countless people’s nights by giving them endless entertainment

Aight so I don’t really know how to start this lol but i’m 23 and i’ve been doing vocals and writing lyrics for about 4 years for shits and giggles and now I want to take it to a serious level. I’ve always been obsessed with music but it wasn’t until about 2 years ago when I started going to a ton of local shows that I started wanting to really try my hand at creating my own. Some of my influences for vocals are Converge, Botch, See You Next Tuesday, Suicide Silence, and Despised Icon. If you already have a band or want to make one with me hit me up please! i know it’s a long shot but me and three other people are forming a band (or trying to) and we don’t really know where to start looking for drums. i’ve thought of making a flyer and putting it up around the college campuses, guitar centers and some venues but like i said extremely new. we are going for a indie punk sort of sound. think Destroy Boys, Veruca Salt, No Doubt, and The Frights. if there’s any advice for a new band (if we can even call ourselves one yet) or anyone interested let us know :).

I have found a couple jams around Austin but looking for some in Houston, San Antonio and Dallas as these are the other major centers I'm hitting up.

Trying to get tickets for my bf and wanted to try to find a specific section I’ve sat at before. It’s a smaller level than the others. You’re kinda right in front of different food/drink/confessions and the very back row (or maybe the last few rows) have a long thin table top that runs along the row and the seats are free standing. Does anyone have info on what section that would be? It’s not the box seats/suites btw. Any other section recommendations not on the floor or 100s?
