Most destiel fics I've read are either full AU, post s15 fix-it or case fics and this got me thinking about how the initial plotline of Castiel raising Dean from hell and Cas inner fight about following or rebelling against heaven has soo much potential for a canon divergence in which their relationship became romantic/sexual early on. Like the whole "i was getting too close to the humans under my care. You" shit?? Come ooooon

Any recs? Bonus if it's long and keeps the bamf!Cas characterization of those early seasons but I'll take anything 🙏

Also maybe Gabriel throws Dean and Cas into a pocket dimension but it’s like, a beach or something and Sam’s in on it to get them to realize they like each other? (Though I highly doubt that exists so just a fic where Dean and Cas are clueless but everyone knows please!)

Essentially Dean and cas work in the same office and the premise is presumed/accidental/ assumed cheating- but with their spouse

Dean and cas are together- married I think and work at the same place but possibly diffrent departments. Their coworkers do not know they are together but know that at least one of them is married. Hijinks ensues of them being accused of cheating on their spouse with their spouse as they take their lunch breaks together and the coworkers overhear parts of conversation that are suspicious without context.

Hello! I am desperately trying to find a fic but I’ve looked through all my bookmarks and can’t find it. Dean is a 22 year old turning tricks to send money to Sam who’s in foster care. He meets Cas who works at a hospital and is married to Anna who is a doctor. Dean gets beaten badly and left for dead, and then he stays with Anna and Cas to recover and try to get his life together. Cas is severely repressed due to his very religious family and struggles against his attraction to Dean. Please help me find it! It’s a beautifully written piece of art!

It's an a Dean/Casitel AU fic. Angels and humans have an arrangement to pair angels and humans together to help the angel population grow. Human family's first born are required to match with angels and any other children get a choice if they want.

A type of ceremony is held where the angel's mark their human. Cas marks Dean on the shoulder.  I don't remember much but I recall that Cas holds back his urges around Dean a lot until they get close enough. Cas also shows Dean his wings and that isn't something other angels do.

There is also mention of Sam/Gaberiel as well.

At the end, Dean and Cas have a daughter and she is doing the ceremony and she can feel that her human, Gordon, hates angels and refuses to mark him.

So awhile ago I recommended a fic to a friend on another platform. We cannot find to post and I can't find it because silly me didn't bookmark it. Here's what I know:

Benny and I think Jo are getting married. Jess is helping out a lot so she asks her BIL, Dean to pick up her (& Sam's) daughter from school.

Cas is her teacher and that is how they meet. Jess asks for help again and wants Dean to ask Cas to use his sound system for the wedding.

It could also just be potential danger, but I want him to really reckon w/ feeling shame/guilt and actually dealing with the fact that he took Jimmy's body and life and then put it in danger every other day. Dean pulls Cass' trench coat out of the trunk, clutching the canvas to his chest for a brief moment before laying it in the front seat. He's been using it as a blanket on the nights when they camp out in Motel Baby for lack of other options. It's been a particularly brutal day and Sam can see the sheer exhaustion in the slump of his brother's shoulders, the bone weary ache in his eyes. He knows how much Dean misses Cass, still. It's been a month but he only seems to be getting worse. He says nothing, but keeps a watchful eye on Dean as he kneels nearby to pray to Cass as if he can still hear it. Eventually Dean manages to drink enough to pass out across the front seat, the trench coat draped over him.

Sam wakes in the middle of the night to Dean crying out for Cass in his sleep, fitful, tears welling from eyes squeezed tight against the pain. It's the same dream he's been having off and on since they lost Cass to the leviathans, the angel's face as he turns to say "I'm sorry, Dean", watching him disappear into the black whirlpool, his coat washing up empty on the shore.

Sam sits up and reaches over the seat back to lay a gentle hand on Dean's shoulder, covering the spot where the faint traces of Cass' handprint still linger. Trying his best to mimic Cass' voice, he drones quietly, "I'm here, Dean. You're safe. It's okay." After a few seconds, Dean settles, hugging the battered and still blood-stained trench coat closer around himself, his breathing evening out, face relaxing once more into peaceful slumber.

In the morning, Sam asks how he slept, and Dean brushes it off. "Like a baby. You know me," with that sad forced smile that never seems to reach his eyes anymore. That fake-it-til-you-make-it-smile that says "I'm trying, Sammy." Sam doesn't push, but instead slides into the passenger seat next to his brother, just offering the comfort of his presence and proximity. He assures himself that Dean will be okay. Eventually. He hopes.

So I wanted to recommend this to someone only to find out that I bookmarked the wrong fic, naturally.., and I can’t remember the title.

It was something like.. 9 times they meet and 1 time they leave sort of summary? Cas is a teacher at the beginning and one of his students, Tommy, brings in some pictures… of a nude man to class. He takes the pictures away and turns out they don’t only belong to Tommy’s uncle but they are of Tommy’s uncle, Dean. They meet 9 times, always closer and close to Christmas across like… decades. They are both in love with each other but it starts in.. 1947 or something? Slowest burn EVER. It has a bitter sweet ending, but it’s beautiful. Please if anyone recognises it, let me know!! ❄️🤍

examples would be contingency: where cas was already in hell because he was banished due to loving humans too much, and when dean goes to hell he pulls him out early

then there’s the fic where cas is actually the fallen angel not anna (forget the name)

and the one where cas is deans faith healer in season 1

i’m currently reading one where cas is an angel on earth known as “the fallen one” when sam gets cursed and dean takes him to get healed

I wish posts that had the destiel news meme tagged it something else and not destiel. I thought it was fandom etiquette to not tag unrelated things and it's very much unrelated. Tired of seeing destiel linked with wars, politics, and especially not with trump. If I wanted to learn about those, I'd go find them or check the news/politics/trump tag. In fact, I'd know before I even come on tumblr. I'm probably there even to escape them for a bit, only to meet the same thing on my fav ship. Everytime something happens, destiel trends and it's just an influx of people using the meme to tell us american news. I want to see things related to destiel on the destiel tag. I'm not ungrateful that destiel is still so popular now but would love for world news to not be a major factor in its current portrayal.
