I’m looking for two specific scenarios: a fic where Castiel is dating Sam originally (or is even just friends with him) and Dean starts crushing on him after meeting him through Sam

OR

A fic where Dean tries setting Cas up with his brother Sam but Dean ends up falling for Cas along the way (or alternatively, he tries to help Sam get with Cas even though Dean himself already has feelings for Cas).

Please help. I want basically sastiel but mainly unrequited on Castiel’s part and the endgame is destiel. I don’t know why I’m looking for Sam to get hurt I feel bad for the guy but it’s just one of those days. I’m not really looking for any love potion/love spell fics but they don’t have to be AU, just preferably without magic involved. thanks Reddit.

I read a fic a while ago and I thought I bookmarked it, but I didn’t and I’m kicking myself over it :(

But basically Cas was told to/decided to leave Dean and Sam for a while (unfortunately I don’t remember whether he decided to himself or if Dean kicked him out bc Gadreel) and he ended up drifting for a while until he ended up getting a job at a store (I think a hardware store?) but the scene that sticks out is when he goes and buys his first sets of plates and a bedspread for the apartment that he saves up and moves into and realizes he’s made his own home for himself rather than living in someone else’s for the first time

And then I remember Dean showing up to his workplace at some point and the owner of the store (I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Nora), who thinks Dean is Cas’s abusive ex, asks if Cas feels safe around him and Cas is like sigh yeah he’s fine and they go talk

I just remember there was a lot of self reflection on Cas’s part about his feelings for Dean and about the world and himself and it was a really nice read but bc I’m second guessing myself on the details I can’t find the fic. If anyone knows the one I’m talking about please let me know the name/author! Thanks

I'm trying to find a fic I've read which I thought was in my bookmarks, but apparently not (might have gotten deleted though). It's post finale, Dean is working as a mechanic and like just generally mourning Cas and trying to get his life together. It's outsider POV from on of the women he works with at the mechanic and it ends with Dean showing up with Cas (and Jack maybe) post rescue ad introducing them to his coworker.

Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for Lazarus rising fics from castiels POV? Not really picky about tags, just curious about their first meeting from his perspective.

From what I understand it was a popular fic a few years ago, but when I looked for the actual written story I couldn't find it.

Ok so a while ago I read a fic on AO3 that was very different. Castiel came back ten years after the end of the series. Only to find Dean happily married to another man. Dean is very pleased to have his best friend again with him but it’s weakening his wedding. And at the end he came back to Cas. If I remember right Cas was Human and pinning for Dean. I looked for this fic with all the tag that I could think of but without success. It was pretty long maybe between 15/60k Tell me if it ring a bell!

It was a little one shots. Basically Dean and Cas were models who were roomates and Charlie needed help with a photography project that had to do with Dean and Castiel getting married, and they slowly fall in love.

Working my way through s11 and in Love Hurts, Dean is cursed and meant to see the person he desires most. Due to plot, it’s Amara.. but I think it’d be a quite interesting AU if he saw Cas instead. Especially if he hasn’t put together his feelings for Cas. Has this been done in a fic yet?

I'm looking for a fanfic where a Djinn induces Castiel into an illusion of perfect life, so when he is rescued he refuses to come out of the illusion or doesn't even know it was an illusion (he may have spent years in it in his head). It doesn't have to be exactly as I described, but I'd like a lot of angst with a happy ending, and preferably a protective Dean<3

So even though I had the end spoiled for me, I somehow convinced myself I could make it through this experience unscathed/unattached, and I was obviously WRONG. I'm only on season 8 now and I can already tell that I am going to be both gutted and I am also like... the fact that these men do not smooch makes me doubt the sanity/sense of the show's writers bc COME ON.

SO I need some assistance to survive the UST/angst/eventual pain in the form of fics I think! But I am new to fan fiction as well, so I'm not sure about terminology.

I think I want essentially canon-compliant fics that are like cut scenes from episodes, but the subtext becomes text, declarations are made, feelings are felt, and obvs smooching (or more) if people have recommendations (or can tell me what search terms to use).

Feel free to suggest from the entire show, I'm binging like wildfire so will get to them sooner rather than later :)

This is a fic that I think I read like 5-6 years ago. Suddenly it came to mind. It was back when I still binge read destiel fanfic in fanfictionnet before transitioning to Ao3.

The fic is basically about Castiel owning an apartment working in a restaurant? cafe? can't remember and met Dean, a customer in need of temporary living space. He invited Dean to stay at his apartment and they begin living a domestic platonic(or so they think) life. Cas is constantly in worry that Dean will be up and running someday and Dean is worrying whether he overstay his welcome but he actually wanted to stay.

That is what I remembered. Perhaps some of the plot that I wrote might be a bit distorted so use it only as a guideline but don't totally match every specific detail since again 5-6 years ago. Please help me find it, thank you!

Eventually the real dean shows up and cas doesn’t believe it’s him. it wasn’t super long, and it was on Ao3. So I left the fandom like 10 years ago and have recently come back! I’m super glad to have the boys back and my partner is watching the show for the first time and they love it! I first joined the main sub and was shocked to see how much hate there is for like….. almost any shipping. People outright saying that injecting romance into the show is wrong (which is crazy bc in season 1 they fall on love with a different woman almost every episode) or that shippers are crazy.

Like……………. what happened to the fandom lmao? Im here for the boys and the guns and the gay ass angel and i know people want to talk about other things but why is the shipping so forbidden?? Im not down with shipwars or like which ship is the most valid but also im just so confused as to why shipping wouldnt be allowed??

hey! i'm looking for a one-shot about dean/benny/cas. i * think * it took place in purgatory, but tbh i read it before I got to that season, so i'm not 100% sure. i just remember that cas and benny are kind of fighting over who gets dean, and dean gets fed up so he goes into the woods and jacks off while watching benny and cas fight. it was really well-written.

I keep seeing people talk about the widower arc and divorce arc but i can't find any information how all their arcs are split up.

I’m struggling to find good Destiel fics. I’m picky. They have to be longish. I really like fics centred around castiel’s confession though I’m not too fussed.

I really do not like alternate universe centred fanfics. And I see a lot of them on archive of our own. 😭 I just like destiel fics being in the supernatural world.

And that’s pretty much just it. If you guys have any suggestions or list of some fics like this. I’d be super happy. Thank you! :D
