Update 2: looking for suggestions to improve our business

Some of you may have seen our last 2 posts but for those who haven't, here's a quick recap. Early in the year, my friend and I thought it would be cool if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers kit. That way you can paint your dog, cat, partner, grandma, the whole family or whatever you want without having to be an artist.

We looked it up and saw custom paint by numbers kits existed but were ridiculously overpriced and most of them came without a frame or with a DIY frame. Long story short we spent months finding suppliers so we could provide custom paint by numbers kits cheaper then everywhere else and already framed.

Then we reached out to you offering our kits at cost price so we could get some feedback to help us improve and that feedback was great. Over 500 of you trialed our business and the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive and we are grateful to everyone who gave us a shot. The only gripe a few of you had was with our shipping times which we've worked hard to resolve.

We had no complaints about the product itself though which is awesome. If you do have complaints though we're all ears, that's what this post is about. We want your help to improve our business even further. We’re reopening our cost price deal until the end of January, giving anyone who missed the chance to try our kits at cost price another opportunity.

You can use the code "COSTPRICEREDDIT" to get our kits for cost price (our margins are pretty slim right now, we want to be as affordable as possible). You can get up to 4 kits at that price so feel free to buy a few and plan a date night, family activity or start a new hobby in the new year. If you've already ordered with that code it has now been reset so you can get the deal again!

After you try our kits we'd love for you to reach out or write a review letting us know how we can improve them. A couple ideas we've had are making collage kits (4 or so canvases that you can paint to make 1 big photo of something), simpler kits that younger kids can paint and adding more sizes. We also thought adding oil and watercolor custom paint by numbers kits could be an interesting idea.

Let us know if any of those ideas are something you'd be interested in us implementing and feel free to comment any other suggestions. Like I said, we're all ears! We are open to anything to improve our business and provide a better experience for you.

Anyone know a place that sells Scandi style pickled herring?

Anyone happen to know if there are any little international shops or specialist grocerers that have, or could acquire, Scandinavian style pickled herring? I've tried the big stores, closest I could find was the Scottish style stuff but it just doesn't hit the spot the same way. And to order it off the internet and get it imported is absolutely outrageous pricing.

Absolute long shot but all else has failed. Hoping one of you fine people might have a tip before it's Christmas tiiiime

EDIT - thanks people. Super Sam's was absolutely the call. they had so many different types, nothing with Scandi origin, but all different styles. got plenty. thank you all, made my christmas a little better

Looking for a man I met at the Hairy Dog on Friday

I know this is a massive reach but I’m trying anyway.

A man approached me at the Hairy Dog on Friday evening to compliment my hair, somewhere between 2-3am

I’d drank way too much and had an overwhelming night so didn’t respond with much enthusiasm or politeness, which I’m now regretting. The guy was maybe about 30 give or take 5 years, between 5’9 and 6’0 probably, dark hair.

I (a guy) was wearing bad eyeliner, with terrible nails and a confused aura of anxiety.

If I do find him here it’s just to chat, no pressure for any intensity

Anyone know of any gymnastics classes for adults in or around Derby?

Very random I know, but I'm having a bit of a quarter life crisis and have an urge to start doing gymnastics 😂 I use to do them when I was younger and I miss it! If anyone knows of any classes suitable for adults, let me know! Thanks in advance!

Piercers in Derby?

Any recommended piercers in Derby?

Special requirement: I'm very old school, I'd want them done at at least 1.6mm / 14ga (rather than 1.2mm / 16ga which is more usual.)

My 2nd and 3rd ear lobe holes need redoing, been too many decades since I had anything in them, plus their position is wrong now, sit too close to my stretched lobes when I wear stone plugs etc.

I used to go to Rogue in Nottingham but they've closed down.

Any Wishing trees still open?

I just this minute thought of doing this, but the only shop I can find doing it is Dunelm, which seems to have finished already.

Are there any other shops in Derby organising an Xmas wishing tree for elderly or children?
