99ers are a group of miners who have undergone extensive cybernetic augmentation to improve productivity in the mines and from which, have developed a belief that a being is not whole unless they become "one" with metal.

The currently known variety of 99ers are:

• Mattock

• Smelter

• Goldrusher

• Blacklung

• Probe (suicide bomber and shield repair)

Does anyone have pictures/screenshots of these guys at their max difficulty? I know they get more armored the higher the difficulty was but I was never able to get them to show up and since the game is in the vaults there's no way to get the game models for them either.

Hi I recently tried to boot this up for nostalgia over the hundreds of hours i put into this game just to see it’s dead. Anything similar or potentially a way to play offline/private server?

Did anyone do work on finding the scale of the game map?

I watched a video and then did some maths and it appears to be about 4.5/5 times smaller than real life.

A 27km line from Mount Tam to the Golden Gate became 6.5km in game. And the bridge being 2.7km became 500m.

I played little 2050 but I was under the impression that I never missed any story stuff. Well a few weeks back I learned of the Trouble in Paradise story for the Crusader class. Managed to watch a playthrough of it though.

And today while working backward through the blog posts I came across the 2050 content roadmap and the planned stories of Shadows over Paradise and Paradise Lost to continue on, as part of the release of the Engineer and another class but have found nothing on them.

Did such mission exist or just were never mentioned ever again?

For the first time in over a year I had a dream that wasn't a stress dream, but a Defiance dream.

The game had come back and I cancelled everything else that day including eating to play. I downloaded FRAPS and just took thousands of screenshots as I went.

When I got to a mine in Marin someone stole my chance to kill a goldrusher but otherwise was the best dream I've had in so long.

Probably all the Defiance Wiki stuff I do during the day that caused it.

Made me miss it a lot today.

Used to play this game a ton when I had a crappy PC and no money, the concept was phenomenal and I loved the gunplay. Sad that it shut down but I would love to know if there's someone out there who's trying to make a pserver like Lego Universe (another favourite childhood favourite).

Grant says they were 20 mins from landing a few mins before they were shot down coming from the Golden Gate and landed in northern Mount Tam.

They had some Intel on the area from the VBI Ark Hunter but I can't think of any area big enough.

Maybe headed to a less populated area just to the north. Maybe nowhere near anything we ever saw.

I'm currently reverse engineering the game, and I came across a line that references auctions; but I can't remember auctions being in the game. Am I just being stupid?

I miss this game so damn much. I can't wait for any of the projects trying to bring it back to finish, even if it's far fetched at this point.

Is there any update on the projects? I know zovix was trying to rebuild in another engine meanwhile there was someone else trying to reverse engineer it? Any info on that.

This game was just so unique. A full mmo with looter shooter. None of this instance stuff that's in all the looter shooter "mmo" now (Destiny, TFD, even The division)

I remembered watching the show way back in 2013 and was wondering if the Reddit was still around. Pleasantly surprised to see it is, however more the game community than the show but I’ll take what I can get lmao

Just wanted to say even if I didn’t play the game for more than 2 hours y’all are awesome for keeping the spirit alive.

Someone made a standalone Tarkov game called “SPT” and a mod “fika” lets you play with friends. Can’t someone do the same thing for Defiance??
