Can someone help me fix that?
Today I installed Deepin, and I like the aesthetic, but saw numerous people who had a different rounder dock, mine was like the one on Windows, square, but others had it like I said, rounder or MacOS like…. Why and how can I change it too?
If I use the Ai via the toolbar next to mouse while selecting a text it responds in Chinese. And I installed deepin for the Ai features
Hey everyone!
I'm currently running Deepin OS, which uses KWin as the default window manager. I'm wondering if it's possible to install and use a different window manager, like Hyprland or i3, without breaking my system. Has anyone tried this? Any tips or potential pitfalls I should be aware of?
Thanks!
hi, i installed deepin to try this Linux distro after reading some things that are important to me, among these, there is the Wayland support. In my system i don't find anything related to Wayland, the graphical environment is x11 and there is no option to change it in the log in. i tried to search around a bit, but i didn't find any answers to this thing. by chance does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
Is it still the most beautiful distro out there?
Hey everyone,
I am absolutely overjoyed and excited to be able to use my local LLMs integrated to my Deepin desktop. It's sad that there are no Youtube tutorials about this. The ability to leverage locally installed language models in the Deepin uOS environment with the level of integration provided by uOS AI is pure magic! The addition of our local LLMs could open up entirely new possibilities for users, especially enthusiasts looking to push their computing capabilities to the next level. While I am still a student working on this myself, it's incredibly simple, I was easily able to integrate Ollama with uOS AI.
I feel eager not just to test out these features. I want to heartily thank the Deepin team for creating this masterpiece of an operating system. Thank you for this gorgeous, user friendly and very robust desktop environment which is a rarity in Linux world. I have been using Linux Mint for few years and now will shift to Deepin!
The Deepin team shoud add the link this in the UOS AI setting to make it easier for beginners like me: Guide to add local LLMs in Deepin OS
Enjoy!
EDIT: This is now fixed. after hours of googling around, i finally gave up. then after some few sudo updates, i was pleasantly surprised that i now see an underline with accent color for the currently app in the foreground. happy now.
===========
Is there a way I could enable a visual indicator on the dock that specifies which app is currently on the foreground? There are indicators for open apps that are in the background (like a white underscore) but i see no indication which app icon is currently in the foreground, just like app icons pinned but that are not opened/run. I have 3 different browsers pinned on the dock for work purposes. But I sometimes get confused on which browser I am on because there is no indicator.
BTW, I'm on Deepin OS 23.
Has anyone installed deepin on hp-15-ds0xxx | hp envy x360 webcam?
No matter what I try I cannot get a newer version of chiaki to work. the version in the deepin store is woefully outdated doesn't even have PS5 support. the Flathub version is newer but wont launch on deepin due to an issue with pipewire that I cant for the life of me figure out. The snap store version works and has PS5 support but it is version 2.1.1 but hardware acceleration is bugged which means it gets super laggy and pixely.
I don't care if I don't get the latest and greatest I'd be happy with 2.2.2 which includes a hardware acceleration fix.
I have no clue what the point of all these linux app stores is I thought it was to make things easier but they are all so out of date it just makes it more frustrating lol.
Thanks for any help
deepin 23 gives me these errors when I turn on the computer "end kernel panic try to init= option" It seems that the vmlinuz is on partition 2 but the whole system on another partition. I really don't quite understand if it's a graphics issue but with deepin 20.9 everything worked fine on the same computer.
My deepin isn't booting up
Hello, why can’t I download apps from the App Store? All packages update in the terminal, but the App Store package doesn’t update. It only has a download issue.
i tried to install obs studio it didnt work shut down it after the morning it wasnt booting it was deepin 23 it storage space last time was 16.5/20gb maybe please help me i am new to deepin
Hi! Is anyone also having the issue with Steam not running on Deepin 23?
I tried reinstalling it and checking if there are missing dependencies, but it seems like there isn't.
The issue lies with steamwebhelper
causing issues with the client. I've also tried to install the App Store version and the Flatpak versions to no avail.
Help Needed: Running i3wm on Deepin by Replacing dde-kwin
I'm trying to run i3wm on Deepin by replacing dde-kwin
with i3wm. I came across this KDE tutorial, but I haven't been able to find the service that starts dde-kwin
.
The only method that's somewhat worked for me is creating a new X session, starting dde-session
, waiting 2 seconds, killing dde-kwin_x11
, and then starting i3
. However, this approach is really unstable—my desktop environment crashes about half the time. Plus, I can't enable the Deepin effects (one of the main reasons I want to use it with i3wm), even with picom
installed.
Here is the script linked to my custom xsession
#!/bin/bash
/usr/bin/dde-session &
sleep 2
pkill deepin-kwin_x11 & i3 --replace
exec 13 --replace
Does anyone have experience with this or know of a more stable solution? Any help would be appreciated!
The standard boot/install options cause the graphics to crash on boot.
Trying to boot the "safe graphics" option immediately stops any progress as the first window (the one selecting language) is so large that the continue/accept button is outside the low res viewable area set by safe graphics.
Appimage still works but adding a .desktop link manually or with Gear Lever doesn't seem to produce a working link.
Anybody have any ideas here?
it's quite obvious on the default screenshot. I had a look at settings and the only thing that stands out is the 1.25 display scaling.
Any ideas?
(what is moire effects? see this link => https://photographylife.com/what-is-moire)
EDIT: I just booted to the other disk that's running Ubuntu 24.04 (I got 2 NVMEs installed) and no issues there. I just did that just to confirm it's not my laptop's display not working properly.
Is it no longer possible to make the dock/panel float like the new kde plasma panel option?
The design and eco system feels very mobile friendly. That is all If no one had ever tried it yet I will try to get it to work and may be post a update here if I am seccessful.
I would like to change the v23 sources list with a non-Chinese list, I tried searching and changing etc/apt/sources.list but to no avail, can you help me? Thank you
