After a lot of turmoil, l finally got to see Macbeth starring David Tennant and even got to a signing. But he signed right on top of another actor. And his signature doesn't even look like his compared to other. I know it's probably really petty and ungrateful of me and I am so lucky to even have seen the show but I feel really really sad that compared to other's- mine was so flawed. Would it be stupid to buy another program and try again? Am I blowing this out of proportion? My heart is just sinking in my chest. I would really like some perspective from fellow fans. Again, I really apologise if I am being rude/inconsiderate.
if anyone hasn’t seen this but Georgia on bluesky now i did see her account a few days ago but i wasn’t sure it was her till she put it on her instagram story this morning am so glad .
Long shot I know but does anyone have a spare Don Juan in Soho programme they no longer need lying around? Or one for Good?
Would obviously pay for it and postage to me.
Could also trade for Macbeth (Pinter), Hamlet, Love‘s Labour‘s Lost or Richard II.
Hello everyone! Sorry if this is the wrong place to post about this but I’m going to London soon and I was really hoping to get to see Macbeth on December 2nd and I was wondering if anyone could tell me if it is likely that more affordable tickets will show up closer to the date on the site or if it’s possible to get them at the ticket office on the morning of? Thank you!
Y'ALL! I'm thrilled to reveal that in the coming week I'll be sharing some EXTRAORDINARY, never-before-seen things with the David Tennant fandom!
…a better-quality copy of David's un-aired 2002 pilot, Only Human, two unreleased documentaries about the pilot and its second shoot (Making Of...Only Human and Making of...More Only Human), and three extra scenes!
If you've never heard of Only Human or haven't ever seen it, don't despair - you can read its origin story at A Tennantcy To Act! My five-part series on its history and development is straight from its creator.
And oh yeah, you can go watch the original pilot [right here] (https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6n4fi), too, so you can see the quality of that copy and know you'll soon get a much better one!
You can find the introductory part of my in-depth interview with the pilot's creator [right here] (https://atennantcytoact.substack.com/p/david-tennant-exclusive-only-human-part-one) - and I've made sure the next four parts are linked in its intro.
I've been given its creator's blessing to share it with David's many fans, and I couldn't be more honored or thrilled.
I have just posted one royal circle ticket for Macbeth Wed 20th Nov 7:00 pm on Ticket swap. Can no longer use. Enjoy and it’ll be the cheapest ticket in London!!
We went to see Macbeth last night and it was amazing! The first Shakespeare played we’d seen performed live, and we were lucky enough to get the programme signed by David after.
There was a barrier up at the side of the theatre when we came out, so we hung around for a few minutes, then the gentleman who looks after David and Cush came out to let everyone know that while David would come out to sign, Cush would not. He also said you might as well throw any Doctor Who or Good Omens stuff in the bin because he will only be signing stuff from the play.
I just thought I’d post to let anyone else attending know!
The play was incredible and Cush was back, happily.
For stage door, they didn’t have the gates up. I showed up a little late because I didn’t rush out of the auditorium (had a very middle seat). Without the gates I knew DT wasn’t coming. On the wall next to stage door were signs that said David and Cush were not signing anything today.
People still stood around trying to cheer or catch a glimpse of them leaving. We didn’t see them. Eventually an usher came out to say no one else would be leaving through stage door tonight and everyone dispersed 🙂
An ironic shout-out (whether she reads this or not) to the woman sat directly in front of me at the theatre tonight who, when the stage lights came up and the cast were on stage at the very beginning, got her phone out and started taking pictures, trilling, "It's okay! It's fine!" to both me AND THE THEATRE USHER who were both trying to get her to stop.
It wasn't fine, lady! It's disrespectful to the cast, the audience around you, and the theatre staff. Resist the urge. Just sit and let it wash over you.
(The play is amazing, DT and CJ were both back on stage. Gird your bladder, though!)
Yaaaaall I need to vent on this. So I was casually scrolling through tumblr and there was this fanpage that was legit going off about Georgia and her recent post about DT. Like saying she’s jealous and bitter, spreads negativity and bullies DT (like serious bullying not ha ha joke bullying( also about how she’s toxic and an alcoholic!!! I’m like can we chill literally they’re in love and have been for a loooooong time. Like watch the vid of him seeing her at the baftas! Also she is supportive and posts him all the time! She jokes around but that’s how they are, the whole family in general. It doesn’t mean he’s in a toxic relationship. Idk it just got me so frustrated that people are spreading this unnecessary hate about her and starting rumors
I have an extra ticket for Macbeth Friday night (15th), second row, somewhat in the middle I think.
Which of the alternatives above are best for reselling the ticket? Will be sold at cost, so not trying to make a profit.
Thanks!
London.
Security on door today said he’s unlikely to be doing stage door til mid next week earliest & Cush is still out, banquo the only other understudy today
ETA: it was a fantastic show. Dark, funny, immersive and not what was expected. Jasmine was a great Lady M!
I'm going to see David Tennant in Macbeth later today at 7:30pm! It would be a lifesaver if anyone who saw the 2:30 matinee performance could confirm whether he was onstage, and how many (other) actors are still being played by understudies?
I flew in from quite far away to see Tennant perform, and I'm a bit anxious about it considering all of the recent absences due to illness... thank you so much in advance!!
EDIT: David was back onstage! Cush Jumbo (Lady Macbeth) and Cal MacAninch (Banquo) were still out, so their roles were played by Jasmin Hinds and Niall Macgregor, respectively (both of them were lovely; Macgregor had an especially great performance!). David didn't do stage door; the security on door said that he would most likely be back on Tuesday of next week. Wonderful play all around, David and the rest of the cast did a phenomenal job! Thank you so much to all who replied :)
Weird question because of weird family dynamics. So my father bought 3 tickets but I couldn't go that date. I tried to sell my ticket and no one purchased. I saw my step mother complain about David being out but she didn't specify if it was cancelled that night. If my father got reimbursed I will ask for a Christmas present. If he did not get reimbursed, I'm just shit out of luck for Christmas.
Tickets available in link, will list separately on request! Partner and I were cancelled for the 2nd November show and decided this once in a lifetime event after a few hard years was worth trying again.
We’ve ended up buying a box (4 seats) for this show and have 2 spare, currently unsure how to list them for resale but would only be looking for what we paid £79.50. Seats are in dress circle, box C.
If anyone could advise how we can get these seats to someone as them going empty would be a waste, please let me know. Or if you are interested also!
EDIT: tickets available here https://www.twickets.live/app/block/496773098565887,2?utm_campaign=sharelisting&utm_source=share&utm_medium=email
Quick report that David was indeed on stage tonight although Cush was still out. David wasn’t doing stage door tonight.
I thought it was a great performance by all! Very glad I was able to successfully get day-of tickets. I’m so sorry to the folks who had their shows cancelled.
The title sounds a bit dramatic, but possibly not unlikely given the state of events here in the US currently. I am going to see Macbeth 11/21 to celebrate 5 years remission after 20 years of intermittent cancer journey. Since pre-existing conditions may no longer be accepted with insurance after this latest presidential win, this may be my first and last time to ever visit London.
I would love to go out dancing somewhere that plays 80s music for a final hurrah. Can anyone recommend a safe place for a woman to go dancing alone? I used to dance once a month in a lovely little club in Portland Oregon more than a decade ago. It was absolutely cathartic! I don't have anything like this where I live now unfortunately. I will be there from 11/20 to 11/24. Would love, love, love some dance therapy in London!
Also, if anyone would love some dance therapy too, you are more than welcome to join! The more the merrier. 💃💃👯♂️
I received the following from ATG, so it looks like the tickets at least will be refunded. I don't know why they're not refunding the entire amount, shorting the full amount(s) paid. Also, they state that the show is sold out and there are no alternative dates. I will be watching my credit card for the refunds.
Thank you for your booking for Macbeth at the Harold Pinter Theatre.
Unfortunately, due to cast illness, the producers of the show had to make the difficult decision to cancel the performance that was due to take place on . We understand the disappointment this caused and apologise for any inconvenience.
We’re pleased to confirm that we are processing your refund. The amount refunded will be the price paid for the ticket(s) excluding the transaction fee and any Ticket Refund Protection you may have purchased.
As this season of Macbeth is strictly limited and sold out for the remainder of the run, we are unable to offer alternative dates for patrons who wish to exchange at this time.
Please note your bank or payment service may take up to 7-14 days to recognise the payment.
If you have not received your refund in 14 days or if we can be of any further assistance please visit our Help Centre.
I've got tickets for the 16th and I keep seeing posts online about Macbeth dates being cancelled due to staff illness, now I'm so paranoid it's going to happen to me 😭
I'm just curious, how much notice do you get that the show has been cancelled? I assume they inform you via e-mail - is that correct?
I'll be travelling into London so just wanted to know how much notice I'd be getting if my show ends up being cancelled so I can make alternative plans if needs be. Might as well make a day of it in London if the Macbeth plans fall through!
Thank you in advance!
Hi - I'm one of the mods in the forum, and I write a Substack called [A Tennantcy To Act] (https://atennantcytoact.substack.com/) where I do deep dives into all the rare, obscure and downright weird about David Tennant's career.
In my first collab with another, I give you The Sheenant Chronicles, a collaborative series between me and Amy McGrath of [Write Hear] (https://writehearpopculture.substack.com/). In The Sheenant Chronicles, we plan to examine in-depth the shared roles of Scottish native David Tennant and Welsh-born actor Michael Sheen.
To kick it all off, we'll be looking today at the role of Jimmy Porter, the protagonist in John Osborne’s 1956 play, Look Back in Anger.
Go read [Amy's article about Michael Sheen's turn in the role of Jimmy] (https://writehearpopculture.substack.com/p/the-sheenant-chronicles-michael-sheen-look-back-in-anger) first...
And after you've read hers, come on back here and finish it up by reading [my article about David's time in the role] (https://atennantcytoact.substack.com/p/sheenant-chronicles-david-tennant-look-back-in-anger)!
Thought I’d try here before the reselling site.
Otherwise - do people wait outside the theatre to see if there are seats left?
so I travelled to England specifically bc I wanted to see David in Macbeth but today the performances were cancelled due to illness. while I understand that the cast's health is important and understand that the shows were cancelled today, I'm also really sad about not getting to see the play and David.
which is why I'm considering coming back to London in 2-3 weeks and trying for day tickets. does anyone have any experience with that? how early should one queue in the morning to still get tickets? how many day tickets are there at any given day? anything else I should consider with this plan?
thanks in advance.
