To be clear, I almost never mind swearing on moral grounds. But there’s an art to it, and not having that art just makes one look puerile, pretentious, and foolish.

Dave does not have that art; and he looks puerile, pretentious, and foolish.

For example, I believe he has now called two Congresswomen “cunts” in … what, a month? Half a year? Some people would call that sexist; I hold that that word is often sexist yet, in its power as one of the few English words that genuinely shocks to this day, effective if used sparingly and aptly.

Dave uses it neither sparingly nor aptly.

Rather, he uses it the way bitter misogynists wield it against the women they hate primarily — if not entirely — because they are women.

Add to that his standup, in which he uses “motherfucker” as a bad cook uses sugar, and you get the picture of a middle-aged man who is emotionally half that old at best: not very perceptive, even less intelligent, and — for a man who “likes ideas” — woefully artless in the language that is their very clay.

The only thing less explicable than Dave’s vulgarity is his following amongst so many wine-drinking church ladies, who will furl like pansies in a Phoenix summer at the very utterance of “the Lord’s name in vain,” yet remain loyal to Dave.

After all, they may not “approve of his lifestyle choice,” but at least he’s one of the good ones.

I used to post on this sub very regularly a few years ago but have fallen off the Dave wagon.

I’m just wondering if any of his female collaborators have called him out for what seems to be a sharp uptick in misogyny?

Most of his clan are incredibly bro-ey but Meghan McCain, Megyn Kelly, Bari Weiss and a few others who have frequently exchanged tweets with him or shared platforms with him.

I obviously believe that it is incumbent on everyone to call out misogyny, not just women, but this is the basket of deplorables we’re talking about here so the bar is in the basement.

...his development is sad and feels scary. For context I was a fan of his back in 2015 and 2016 when he pretended to be a classical liberal. Then I gradually became more progressive and like others on this sub I came here to see people dunk on Dave. Then I stopped caring about the guy cus it's a waste of time even judging him. Just now I had the thought "what happened to Dave." I go to this sub and Jesus! He is more hateful than I ever remember him being. He calls every woman in politics he dislikes a cunt. The way he talks about the left now is full of disdain and spite. The guy used to be in recovery mode from high level ideas now everything I see on this sub is him talking about the people he hates.

Is this kinda pointless to take this much time to run a sub just to mock one guy who interviews people? Seems excessive and a little pathetic. Just a little.
