More than 600 people gathered at the courthouse to kick off the Christmas season with the lighting of the new County Christmas tree honoring Sue Webb, the music of the North Georgia Brass Quintet, and delicious locally baked treats, hot cocoa and freshly brewed flavored coffees.

Santas’s sleigh, the tree and the giant ornaments are available for photo ops through the holiday season.

Saw little women the musical last night at the artistic civic theatre in Dalton. It was a great show post thanksgiving dinner! Check it out.

My sister lives in Dalton, GA and her cat recently got diagnosed with a heart murmur :( Her vet told her a visit with a cardiologist to find out whether it’s heart failure could cost up to $1,000. If anyone has any leads with vets that might cost any less than that, I figured it was worth a shot asking. She’s willing to drive too if it’s a few hours away. Thanks!

My family is moving back to Dalton in January, and I will need to enroll our then 5 month old in daycare.

First, I’m looking for recommendations (or also, where to stay away from). We’re open to in home daycares.

Second, I would love to get an idea of what full tike daycare costs these days. We are moving from Atlanta, so I’m expecting it to be less than here— hopefully.

So I went to the Vaan house about a month ago and while I was heading there this house caught my eye. It was white ran down and it had police tape around it.
