I was once a stupid little kid who liked to chew on things, and I chewed up several of my controllers. I have already replaced the analog sticks, but I was not able to resleeve the cables. How can I best and easily go about that?
Wondering wheres a place to get cheap gcc shells. I don't care how they look thought cause I plan to paint them
I'm looking to build my own custom game controller. Completely from scratch. And I'm trying to determine a microcontroller unit, as in the individual chip by itself, for me to use. I was recommended this community from r/embedded.
My needs are:
Once I nail those down on some working units, I would like to revise my controller to have:
When I go to mouser to search, I see a lot of chips that have UART connection, but I'm not sure if that could be used as USB-C. Then when I go to DigiKey I can filter out by chips that have USB, but their options are very few.
Hello, does anyone know good button membranes from aliexpress that are clicky. Because I don’t want to source them myself
Since i own both a wavebird, and a 3rd party controller (wich button pads worn out) i was wondering whats the difference between these two, obviously the OEM ones feel softer but do they tend to wear down at the same rate as the 3rd party ones? i ask because im gonna buy either a oem or replacement pads
Control in Color seems nice but they don’t have character themed designs except a few like Minecraft
A Princess Peach Controller
I saw this in a video and really fell in love with it. (this is a old screenshot I have taken)
I am having an issue with the settings for my GC Loader/GameCube settings.
When I go to the In Game Reset section the option for IGR.dol is not there to select. I have the card with the sd card in the SP2SD2 slot with the igr.dol.file in the SD card.
Is there an update or ir a setting I need to change? In the videos I watch the setting is in the first page and in my settings it is like page 3 or 4.
Something is definitely different. I feel like I am missing an update or something. Can anyone help me?
Thanks BigMook
I’m working on a list of materials for a custom GCC, and I found some really cool buttons on Etsy. Only problem is they don’t come with triggers or sticks. My plan was to use the sticks and ZR/ZL buttons from an old controller I used to use but don’t as much anymore because of the loose stick box. I am 99% sure the sticks will work, but I’m not sure about the triggers. I have no idea how the inside of the switch controllers work, so I have no idea if the triggers would work, either. Could I just use triggers from my switch controller? If I can’t, could someone direct me to a link where I can buy a set of black triggers? I only want the triggers, no other buttons as those are all accounted for already.
I am trying to re spray (Rust-Oleum Painters Touch 2X) my old custom controller because I think it looks ugly ATP and I didn't even do that good of a job last time. I have an idea in my head for this run that involves stencils. My idea was to just wait for the main coat of spray to dry (48 hours), cover the rest of the shell in painters tape, use a stencil to spray on a custom design, wait for that to dry (another 48 hours), then apply the clear coat and wait a week for the final product.
My main question was if the 48 hour intervals would be enough to use painters tape on the controller without paint coming off. This is already adding up to 10-11 days so it'd suck if I had to wait longer but I also don't wanna do a bad job again. I could leave the painters tape on for the 48 hours that the stencil is drying, but I really don't know what the right method is for this.
Hey! I just swapped my first set of buttons. I like the look but they cost a few cents and feel cheap. Where can i buy Quality buttons? At best some that dont break my bank account.
I want a full sized c stick.
Not sure where else to ask but I’m looking for an adapter that won’t run me like $50+ and hoping to find one on my trip. Anyone know of decent spots where they might carry these?
thinking of buying a phob board and soldering parts onto it, but it seems that the only place to buy these parts is from etsy with very expensive shipping to Australia.
How have you guys made stencils to paint back on the logo after painting? I was looking at stencil monkey but $50 for a stencil seems steep.
He helped clean it a bit too. I told him how to swap a stick, super easy. And now in the future I can count on him to help me with GameCube controller stuff (non-soldering) since now he’s opened and cleaned one. There are always old controllers out there needing love and new sticks. Or that could just use one for esthetic purposes.
