I last minute decorated my door and decided to hand out candy but no one came by, only 2 kids ☹️ did they all go to another neighborhood? Guess I’ll have candy for breakfast lol
As you may have read the title, my id card is taking its to open the doors now. It used to be asap now its like i have to put it everywhere on the black censor thing. Anyone else have this issue?

I live in main campus and last night and today I’ve smelled smoke like from a fire, anyone else smelled this and/or know anything about it?
Hey all. Would anyone be down to go for a walk and have coffee? I know there are hiking groups or clubs for students but since I’m not transferred in as a student just yet, I wanted to set up something small for a little group.
Hi guys I'm a new student looking for friends I'm going to be either a business major or computer science. Is there anyone want to add me on socials? I got insta, discord I'm fine with all sexes just looking for friends : ). I'm going to be on campus housing.
don’t worry about arguments/difference not going to talk about that…
My question is, for people who don’t live in the Monterey area. How are you voting? Did you guys get your ballot from a family member and brought it to you here or did you change the area.
So I am living on east campus. There is a neighbor living on the street behind mine that walks near our unit and frequently walks with her dog unleashed. (doggo looks very friendly) but I’ve heard her cussing and yelling at the dog multiple times while I was in the garage. She’s let her dog poop next to our path and on the dirt island by our driveway without cleaning it up. I feel it’s pretty ridiculous and lazy since we are very close to the dog park at Schoonover. The guidelines tell us to speak to our neighbors when there is an issue before escalating to housing staff. I don’t really feel comfortable asking her about it since she is already showing signs of aggression to her pet. Is there a rule I’m overlooking that allows owners to walk their dogs out of the dog park without a leash?
I am an older student living in east campus. I originally applied with the hope of getting a single room but I was unfortunately given a double. I understand that there was a housing shortage so I thought I could make things work. I'll be honest, I'm struggling. My roommates are okay but I don't feel entirely comfortable and I'd be lying if I said I didn't have an issue with their hygiene practices. So my question is, are you allowed to change assignments after the semester? I have the same assignment for next semester listed on my housing dashboard but I was hoping to see if anyone had ever had any luck changing? It's honestly causing so much stress.
What, if anything do they require you to provide to prove your residency?
Thanks in advance!
hi everyone, i’m starting the cs online program in january and would like to make friends :) if anyone would like to connect on discord, instagram, psn, etc. let me know :D
Anyone trying to slide me there notes for the Micro Econ Mid term?
How does the package situation work? Can I receive packages to my doorstep?
Did anyone else see the announcement about CSUMB merging every department? The announcement calls it the "College of College"? I mean, I knew they liked streamlining, but this is wild.
The interim dean says they’re focusing on "academic synergy." Does that mean we all just take a little bit of everything now? Also, the idea of "community gardening" instead of meal plans... I don’t know if I’m ready to grow my own ramen just yet.
Also, shout out to Dana Johnson, the Philosophy-Astronomy Major—congrats on the double-major-confusion status.
What do you all think? Is this the next phase of CSUMB, or are we all part of some massive college experiment?
Currently looking for easy electives for senior year or easy professors to focus on capstone
idk what it is lmk
i’m so annoyed right now so i had a package i’ve been waiting for that was supposed to come Monday the 21st but it ended up being early and they tried to deliver it but the stupid shrl is closed on weekends so that’s fun like do they not realize that mail still gets delivered on Saturdays lmao
I’m wondering if anyone’s heard of any haunted houses or horror-themed walk through, hayrides, etc. around here? I would go as far as Santa Cruz too, but I haven’t heard anything happening in their area either.
I am a first year no complaints at all! However why is the water sooo bad? Ive used the schools water stations but it has a off putting taste to it. Can someone tell me if theres like a better way to get water beside buying those canned water which cost too much and has little amounts.
I’m hoping to transfer to CSUMB but don’t know anything about it or know anyone there. What are some things to do around the area or even on campus?
Hello, I plan on transferring to CSUMB Fall ‘25 but I have been hearing about the housing crisis. What should I do about that, are there areas near by to live that aren’t going to be too expensive?
Now that registration is coming up for the 2025 Spring Semester, I was wondering if anyone could drop some recommendations for the easiest classes they’ve taken at CSUMB, or most lenient professors…? I’m currently a Freshman trying to get their GenEd out of the way—I’m a good student just don’t want any extra added headache. Would love to hear some recommendations!
I’m planning my schedule for next semester, and I plan on having Calculus 1 with a 10 min gap before my next class. Does the class actually last for the full two hours? Or is it like precalculus where it lasts for more like 1hr 15mins?
Hi does anyone have any experience with transferring from csus to csumb and have any advice for it? Or know any resources on i could reach out to for help and support. Pls and thank you😭😭…
Any events happening in campus or outside in town? It’s Halloween 😮😓
I plan on transferring in fall 2025 but I need some advice regarding housing. Would it be worth it to get a dorm or make the commute from Santa Cruz(40-50 mins away)? I still live at home currently. My car is reliable and good on gas.
I'm a first year marine science major with no prior experience in the field. What would be a good place to volunteer to start building up my experience?
I have an "above-average" knowledge of animal identification and classification, and I would prefer to do something allowing me to utilize and expand this knowledge. But I will accept any volunteer work I can get.
So far I have applied to be a guide at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, I have applied to the Monterey Marine Mammal Center, and I will be volunteering for the Fort Ord State Park.
Hey everybody, I am applying for the 2025 MSW program and debating whether to go for the 2 or three year pathway. To anyone in either pathway, how does the coursework feel? Is it manageable with a full time or part time job? I read that the 2 year pathway is 5 classes per semester with 16+ hours of an internship a week.
