COTD: Takes one to know One? (3)
Trying to do any crossword in english of any type (British or american, direct or cryptic) is so painful, as I can't even do the easiest ones. Are there any news sites (in the sense of "being made by the large news sites, like the guardian, new york times, etc", that make crosswords for ESL people? I want the high quality that is only found in these large sites, really. I want to be able to complete one without getting many hints, while actually getting challenged. While doing crosswords in random sites that provide esl crosswords, I've realized how easy they were even in the hardest difficulty, while getting even a third of even the easiest "normal" ones are essentially just a dream.
I'm a poet and I never knew.
I was only halfway down a cup of coffee before I finished the crossword today. I know people here have been asking about good intermediary-level crosswords, and I thought this one fit the bill very smoothly.

(incidentally, has anyone noticed what a bugger the word "crossword" is to type if you have any form of co-ordination issue? I have dyspraxia and I can *never* get it right first time)
I love the ease and availability of digital crosswords, but there's something so free and creative about solving something on paper. I always find myself wishing to be able to jumble the letters, or quickly write the word outside of the grid with blanks, or write two words on top of each other etc.
What things do you miss the most when you're without pen/paper?
HINT 1: There is a clue somewhere inside of me
Hey all, I got into cryptic crosswords via the Sydney Morning Herald. I really liked the cryptics by DP. I canned my SMH subscription a while ago and haven't found a good substitute. I have a guardian subscription but they have heaps of different setters and I've only found a couple enjoyable.
Grateful for any recommendations for good online cryptic crosswords or just who among the Guardian's collection of setters you find worthwhile.
Thanks!
