If you're looking for help with a real crime, this is not the subreddit for you. Again, we're fans of a TV show.
Based on Reddiquette. Moderators reserve the right to remove any post/comment they see as violating those guidelines without contributing to the community.
1) Posts must be related. Do not link/post anything unless it is directly linked to Criminal Minds.
2) Remember the human. Any post/comment clearly targeting any individual will be removed. Sexism, racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, ableism, and anything along those lines is absolutely not allowed and will result in warnings and possible bans for violations.
3) Do not be intentionally rude or combative. Friendly digs and constructive criticism are fine, but realise that sarcasm is not easily detectable through text. Insults, flame wars, or trolling will be removed.
4) Do not post personal information. Revealing anybody's personal information will get you immediately banned.
5) No bashing. This includes characters, plots, episodes, etc. Saying "this character is the worst and everyone who likes them is the worst too" is bashing. Discussing how a character/plot/episode is flawed and could be improved is not.

7) DO NOT ASK WHERE TO FIND THE SHOW Reddit frowns on linking to underground sites. Legally, in the United States, Paramount+ and has all seasons. In most of the rest of the world, Disney+ has all seasons. Please check with our friends over at r/NetflixByProxy for more help. Your local public library may also have it.

I'm on my first rewatch (or maybe second? I seem to remember some of the cases quite well so maybe it's second...) and somehow this time around I find it very annoying that whenever someone is wounded, the attitude is kind of like "oh well, I guess you're dead now". I'm nearing the end of second season and there have been so many situations where the normal thing would be to apply pressure to the wound, but instead they are just holding hands and saying that help is on the way or just standing around looking at each other helplesly. The scenes could still be emotional and the wounded person could still die, but at least it would feel more realistic if there was an attempt to save them.
I've seen some older comments too where the commenter complains about how fast people bleed out after being shot in the shoulder. Those are the situations I'm talking about - just apply pressure and the guy is fine until the medics get there. There's no way FBI training didn't include basic first-aid training.
I guess it's considered better drama when people die, but some of those situations feel so absurd and unrealistic to me that I don't even feel the drama.
One example is the episode (S02E21) where there were hunter brothers raised by their uncle. The little brother was stabbed by their victim. I think it's somewhat fine that the big brother didn't apply pressure to the wound - I dislike it, but it can be explained that he might lack the training or basic knowledge like that and is dependant on what the uncle managed to teach (but still a likely thing to be taught). Or maybe he was too consumed by the hunt that was still unfinished. But then the BAU gets there and still no one is applying pressure or trying to actually help. They just stand around talking, call for extraction or whatever help it was, ask him questions, stand around talking a bit more and then in the end Gideon holds his hand (or maybe he was holding his hands on the boy's face?) and tells to stay with him and that help is almost there. And this whole time the guy is just bleeding out.
Spoilers ahead!! For me the first ones that come to mind are
Truth or dare (because of the Jjs whole I love you Reid love confession bullsh*t)
Sick day (JJ and Alvez made critical errors and in my opinion the kid could've been saved)
Almost all Mr. Scratch episodes it did get old I liked the one when he drugged hotch but other than that nope it was too much of him.
Here’s something i have never understood and finally found the place to ask. Who was Emily working for as Lauren? Morgan gets all mad cause she was a spy but was she a spy or just working for the CIA as an undercover agent? That doesn’t make you a spy…
It’s my first watch through and I’m at season 12 where the next episode is Reid in jail. This makes me sad and I don’t want to watch the next episodes until he is out of jail.
Can I just skip all the jail episodes? Will I miss any major plot points or any important info about the characters?
Please give me okay to skip and what episode should I resume? Or tell me no because something amazing happens that I can miss like Morgan comes back.
I know people always say that Hotch and Blackwolf had chemistry, and honestly it's so true. They just vibe so hard.
But rewatching it, I just thought about how at the beginning of the episode, Hotch and Sean have an argument, and by the end Hotch goes to make up with him. I think this is because of Blackwolf, not because of any advice that's given, but just because they easily fall into a rhythm, much like brothers, in that they both have their own way of doing things, but they still recognise that the others way can be successful to bring about an end result.
Even very early on after meeting Blackwolf, when Hotch steps in front of him and asks about how he knew he carried an extra gun, John says it's because of his footprints and Hotch is like, "there's no perceptible difference in my footprints" and Blackwolf says "your problem is in your perception, not your prints." Their conversations are absolutely sibling-coded.
Hey, forgive me. New fan here just finished my first run through of seasons 1-15. My question is kind of dumb. I watched seasons 1-15 on Hulu but where do I watch 16 and 17? Is evolution a separate series that I look for? Or is it still under the name criminal minds? Even after 15 seasons I still need more lol just need to know where to watch. Thanks
This is a favourite episode of mine, just the story is good, but at the end of the episode when everyone's back and Hotch had to sign his divorce papers, it was sad. You could see from the way he walked out of the Bullpen he was sad, but I mean who wouldn't be,
Anyways, Whats your opinion of Hayley?
in sick day epsiode did jj stay up all night ?
I'm having trouble remembering what episode I'm thinking of. The only main 3 things I remember are: that it was an early season episode (seasons 1-5 or 6), at the end of the episode there was a character looking out the window of an attic, and while that was going on "behind blue eyes" was playing in the background. I'm unsure if it was the original or the cover by limp bizkit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's been driving me nuts trying to figure this out.
i can’t draw eyes or noses😭😭
So CM is my fall asleep show- I’ve recently gotten to season 13 and went back to the start to rewatch.
I’ve realised (as this is the first time I’m basically doing back to back rewatches) that the early seasons had a lot more variety in their story lines. Yes it’s about profiling- but the stories won’t just be person killing people. There’s the serial rapist, the CIA mole, the arsonist.
Maybe I’m remembering things wrong but it felt the later seasons were diverse in the serial killing storyline but I wish there had been more variety in the type of Unsub -crime they investigated.
If I am remembering it wrong please do let me know of eps! I love the show!
As someone who is deeply and disturbingly obsessed with Spencer Reid, can I skip those episodes and watch the rest of the series just fine? I’ve read the plot of zugzwang but not the episode after, I just want to get through season 8 with the least amount of psychological damage possible and I can’t stand to see Spencer so sad.
PS I also think it’s so funny that MGG is Spencer’s biggest hater cause I know it was his idea too
Edit: bit the bullet… my tummy hurts
"can you guys do something for me?"
"anything."
"could at least one of you look like you're going to see me again?"
S1 Reid being a silly little funny man
This one ended up being a really good season finale.
!Okay, I completely lost track of how they lost track of where Emily was. Ah, there she is. In the midst of a tragic elderly love story?!<
!At this rate Hotch is totally going to lose his hearing completely. I've binged the past seven seasons pretty quickly, so some stuff has blurred together, but I'm pretty sure he had hearing issues at least once already and now he's bleeding out of his ear and Rossi wants him to have it looked at.!<
!Also, does the FBI offer a daycare? Hotch has lucked out that Beth is up for spontaneous childcare and JJ had Will move from New Orleans. !<
!Garcia thinking of her and Kevin as the President and Vice-President of Tech was funny.!<
!Yay, we're finally free of the loser bank robber. He was just slowing things down at this point. I feel like we're going to get further into the story of the lady assassin spy bank robber bomber without him.!<
!Ha! I called it! I knew that random Marine was too prominently featured last episode! He's the mystery partner!!<
!You know, if the FBI offered childcare, I don't think we'd run into issues where the bank robber lady is baby sitting our kid. Also, I love that Tricia Helfer is trying to be super intimidating with her Ring Around the Rosie rendition but instead Henry just thinks she's silly.!<
!I love that JJ has developed this badass fighter side to her that we've seen this season. It's like she's the only one that's been really seriously watching John Wick over and over. This fight scene is awesome. The guys aren't choking out their perp with a handbag! !<
!Everything is happy and fine now, but I'm curious why we cut away from Izzy the bank robber telling little Henry a story. What was that story?!<
!Okay, I can buy that Emily is tempted by this new job offer, but I don't buy her saying that she's been thinking about leaving all season long. She seemed super committed to the team. !<
!I love Garcia having gemstones in her bangs. That's one of her looks that I actually really like.!<
!I love Rossi being rich enough to throw a whole surprise wedding.!<
!This is such a lovely and happy way to end the season and everything is so sweet, but Emily having a goodbye dance with everyone is making me sad. (And also kind of reminding me that I kind of lowkey always thought there was a little something between Hotch and Prentiss. Kind of an "in another life" vibe.)!<
Hey guys, I know this has been asked before but I want to be specific. What show is most like criminal minds vibes that isn’t only about navy or marines. More about killers that have a specific type, or kidnapping etc. I loved cold case, & fbi was decent. NCIS didn’t really work for me.
I was on TikTok earlier and I was came across a video about character opinions and I never knew a handful of people hated Kate Callahan I loved her because JLH played her and she’s my favorite actress and for only season 10 is where I replaced JJ with Kate as my #1 favorite female character😭
So, I'm on another attempt to get through s17, and I'm currently on e6, "Message in a Bottle".
The scene where Tara just sits with Dave...wow. I remember loving their unique comraderie and friendship when she was first brought on board, and this simple scene that reinforced it just hit me in the feels.
I've been binging the show for the first time and the start of this episode finally made me decide to post something here.
!I think that - for just a moment - I wondered if this whole episode would be some sort of day off for the team. Seeing everyone just doing normal human stuff like going to a Doctor Who convention or Jack showing off his fort to Beth was a really sweet way to start the episode. I'm not really expecting that from this kind of network procedural, but you never know. (Also, I loved everyone's convention costumes.)!<
!Honestly, the idea that the team spends the episode figuring out what exactly Rossi and Erin were doing coming out of the same hotel is enough of a hook for an episode as far as I'm concerned, but I'm guessing we'll need some actual crime to go down. I'm assuming it was just him there as a friend after she was tempted to drink or something like that. Something with some logical explanation and not that they were hooking up, although that would be the more fun option here.!<
!Tricia Helfer really rocks this black wig she's got going on as this bank robber.!<
!I'm vaguely aware of certain characters/actors coming and going over the course of the show and the seasons to come. Pretty much every time a character gets dissatisfied or starts getting other offers I get nervous about the team breaking up. This group feels like my ideal group of the show and I really didn't like it when they weren't all together last season. I'm not looking up exactly who goes where when, but when Sebastian Roché starts making Emily a job offer, I start getting nervous. She's one of my favourite characters.!<
!This other robber is such a fool. Everyone is telling him that Tricia Helfer is clearly not listening to him and it's Tricia Helfer. Dude is definitely delusional if he thinks he's controlling her in any way.!<
!I don't trust this former Marine for some reason. He's too involved. He's too prominent. He's got a name and a vaguely recognizable actor face. If he turns out to be the secret partner of Tricia Helfer, I'm staking my claim on having called it. If he's not, then maybe I just know the actor from something and it's throwing me off?!<
!I knew when we saw JJ and Will all idyllic and lovey-dovey at the start of the episode *and* then we saw him going off on patrol, something not good was going to happen to him. I'm going to assume, since he was with the bank robbers, that he didn't die in this explosion. I'm going to actual assume that he makes it out of this cliffhanger alive and mostly well.!<
!That was a really impressive explosion to end the episode. Solid cliffhanger.!<
!So, things left hanging on the cliff: are Rossi & Erin banging, is JJ going to require alternative childcare in the future, is Emily going to take the job, and is the Marine the secret partner.!<
Hi! Does anyone know what the opening song is for S12E12 - A Good Husband? Tysm in advance! 😊💗
The ending was beautiful and i was GAGGED by the asking out 😭😭 finally won but only at the end.. time for CME
My sweet 16 y/o daughter is taking a forensics class and is interested in watching Criminal Minds. I’m pretty jaded and don’t get shocked or scared easy so my gauge for what won’t leave her with crazy nightmares can’t be trusted. Do any of you watch with your kids and know of any of the episodes that might be on the more mild end of the spectrum for a starter episode for her? Thanks in advance. For reference she’s a little less into the darker things but has recently started watching forensic files.
GUYS i was a coward and couldnt convince myself to keep watching s6 (i stopped right before Lauren) but I was MISSING THOSE FELLAS and realized I couldnt remember shit from s1 (wich I watched a year ago) so I came to a rewatch and OH MY GOOOOOD MORGAN WITH HAIR??? AND A SUIT??? Is so weird ISTG and Hotch being happy wich Haley and baby Spence and and and *crying*
"this is special agent morgan our expert in obssessive crimes" YOU GUYS REMEMBER WHEN THE WRITERS STILL KNEW MORGAN HAD AN EXPERTISE AREA "and this is agent Reid- Doctor Reid our expert in... well, everything" LMAO I MISSED THOSE FELLAS
So, for a little not so important backstory, I’m a long time criminal minds fan, been watching it since i was 12 and i’m 22 now so do the math lol. Anyways, I’ve rewatched many seasons over the years and have caught up on streaming. I finished season 15 ep 10 , I hope Luke and Garcia become a thing, they are so cute (,:
Point of this post: Season 16. What the hell kind of cameras have they started using?? It looks so?? bad?? TOO smooth?? too gray?? I don’t know how to describe it. This is not the only show I have noticed it on HOWEVER, it’s been the only show that it’s bothered me enough to make a post about it. I’m sure eventually I will get used to it but it changes the overall “vibe” and feel of the show so much, I’m not sure how to describe it. Yes I know it’s not exactly like the old seasons as it’s clearly called “evolution” but that’s not my point. It takes something away from the essence of the show. It looks like it was produced by Hallmark or something. I’m still watching it though 😂
Right it's weird but I keep seeing ads with that lassie in it, while I don't think she's mental she does make me think she's a bit deranged haha!
I wanna know what episode she's from? I've managed to narrow it down to Season 10's "Amelia Porter" and a couple of episodes after that, "Amelia Porter" was the other week if I remember correctly and "The Forever People" was Wednesday past haha, so we have "Anonymous" coming this Wednesday haha.
It's a weird thing I've got hung up on but am bored and I have seen all episodes anyways!
Thanks in advance and stuff!
Why did they change the way they reconstructed the happening of cases? In earlier episodes the Charakters were “included” in the happenings by flashbacks, now they’re not. Idk how exactly to explain what I mean but I miss it!
