Is it weird if watching CM and some other Serial Killer Documentaries help me relax? Ha-ha.

I have desperately been searching for an older criminal minds fanfiction.

It is a Demily or Prentiss/Morgan fix and all I remember about it is that those two are kidnapped by men in masks of the faces of the presidents and they are held hostage in a shipping container. It was originally on fanfiction.net but could be on anything, please let me know if you have any ideas I would love to read it again!!!

So, I have a looot of spoilers, I dont really care that much about it, BUT that means that I KNOW most of the changes I'm about to face and I don't know if I want to. Look, I dont wanna to drop the show but I read that is in this season Emily and JJ goes out and then in S7 JJ comes back as a profiler and thats to talk the least, im AFRAID of watching the poster season with that many changes, and talking about even longer, I dont wanna see all the Maeve's and Reid's Prision plot, he is my baby, I can't. Im no lying, im really afraid folks. Sometimes is better stop watching a show when you know its in a good point and now it will be things you dont like happening. I dont wanna to ruin the show to myself. Maybe im being dramatic tho, idk. I wish I didnt watched The Umbrella Academy S4, maybe is just trauma idk. But suddenly im really afraid now. Should I keep watching or should I stop here?

Update: THANKS SO MUCH GUYS! I kept watching, and will keep going! I think the few spoilers scared me a little bit, but you guys remembered me that watching the parts I dont like for the first time its part of loving the show too, anda part I passed through with my favourite shows! It was just a momentum drama I guess, I tho the changes would piss me off since the beggining but Elle and Gideon changes was ok and it didnt annoyed me, specially because I loved Emily and Rossi. Also that time Jordan stayed on JJ's place was pretty cool to watch even if JJ was out and I dont like Jordan, the show were good to watch as it always had, so I think I can handle it, just scared for a sec there. And youre all so nice, thanks! I will keep updating here where I am and how is it going! Oh, and some of you were sorry that I got spoilers, and if it makes any better, the only ones I got is when some characters live and the prision and Cat thing with Reid because of tiktok (and I only know that it happens, Idk how nor when nor wtf), it seems pretty little to a series with more than 12 seasons lol. In the 3rd episode of season 13, a killer named Gabriel Merza keeps men captive in an underground container where there is also all his equipement: camera, tapes, torture objects, etc. In multiple scenes shot in said container, you can see a birefcase. This object looks strangely clean compared to all other objects in the container, which made me think: When I watched CM Evolution, I heard Rossi and Lewis wonder how many briefcases could have been hidden and used by serial killers throughout all the cases the BAU studied. We know Voit created all thoses cases and containers way before the pandemic and he activated his dark network when COVID-19 striked the world. My theory is Gabriel Merza could have gotten the briefcase and the instructions not by Voit's network but by another way. Now I want it to be clear for everyone that I know this theory is obviously impossible to verify and to validate, I'm probably just over interpretating things. I just found it funny to assume both of those characters were linked.

I dont like how we changed the dynamic of Morgan being there for Ellie because they both witnessed their father’s murdered. At first the bond is shown in favorable light with her keeping him updated on how she is adjusting. Then suddenly shes showing up in DC after running away. The writers could have given us this one good thing, where a victim is brought up later on in a positive after a horrible event. Instead it felt like they refused to let a healthy bond form. We also barely get after event looks into their personal lives, e.g. Reid in N.A. was one scene in an episode, Penelope talks about counseling victims but we dont see it (as of this point, cant remember if it shown later on). Unless its a character centric episode, like Morgan going back home or Emily in later seasons we get nothing but passing information. I think this devolved into a rant, I still love the show.

(Related to s12 E20) How is the the quote about love that Spence tells his mom the stuff that hit me the hardest so far in the whole of the Prison era? HOW? Like legit love the quote but man just the whole scene makes me sad :( especially the “I won’t remember loving you.”

When the police officer/emergency responder shines a flashlight and calls out "hello?" into the darkness....

If they notice something that is slightly out of place, like the picture frame has been put face down

if they ever say the phrase "That's weird" especially if paired with "I thought I closed/locked the door/gate etc

If two people get in an argument, one of them will die, the other will feel sorrow about the last thing they said to them....

I remember him talking about the possibility of small airplanes pulvarizing when they hit the right/wrong turbulence at the wrong/right altitude. I was wondering, how small does an airplane have to be to just fall in that category, and when is it big enough?

What incidents/ scenes have you most needed to suspend your disbelief when you’re watching?

Me? When David Rossi got on a plane with his newly introduced daughter Joy to meet his grandchild and son in law and spend a weekend, AND Joy addressed him as “Dad.” It was nice and all but kinda hard to just roll with it. 🫤

Even more than JJ, who at the time I don’t think we’d ever seen throw a punch (maybe sparring?), kick the ass of what was pitched as a seasoned, hardened, covert assassin. That was a lovely fight scene and all and definitely what I was hoping for when the bad guys took Henry and Will hostage, but still required me to but put away my normal BS allowances. 😬

I finished the whole series and idk if I can rewatch it. Like don’t get me wrong, I’m absolutely obsessed with it, I could just use it as background noise now. But I’m looking for a new show that is similar, and ideally the episodes don’t lead into each other

How would he be profiled by the BAU and how would they catch him if multiple people that pose as him at once?

So, I started watching CM when I got laid off from my previous job bc I desperately needed smth to distract me from depression, but now I'm currently 3 episodes from finishing season 15 and I feel like this kind of depression will hit me harder than unemployment.

It's clear that in the last seasons they kind of deviate more from criminal cases that are complex and gruesome, to focus more on the dynamic of the team, and I truly feel like that's what's made the series take off for good.

I don't know if it is considered an unpopular opinion, because it does feel like people start watching CM mainly for the bazillion different ways they can think of killing people (at least, I know I did). Still, as I kept watching the series, I grew more attached the deeper they got to developing the characters and their relationships, and I think now that's what really made me fall in love with CM.

Cause at first, the most we had was this weird father-son relationship that Gideon and Reid had -- and that was fine, it was cute even. But then, after season 3, they start to lay heavily on the friendship between Morgan and Garcia, how Hotch was like a father or smth to them, and the whole family thing, even Luke and Garcia (which, to be very honest, I didn't think could be better than her duo with Morgan, but I ended up liking even more)! At some point, I really thought I was watching CM more for the characters and their relationship than because of the story itself.

I don't really know where I'm going with this, ig I just wanted to vent how much I love these characters and will miss this series. It really made me sad and almost cry when some of them left, but it's amazing how they managed to keep the bar high despite the constant change in the casting, and each new one that was introduced managed to win us over just like the previous assemble. Really, I don't think there's any other series that ran for so long and managed to keep the standards despite comes and goers, on top of wrapping up everything in a really solid, non-disappointing way.

I guess I gotta follow Morgan and binge S.W.A.T. now????

SPOILER: it really made me scream with joy when Emily came back like ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I had just gotten over her leaving, that truly felt like a christmas gift!

I’m not American so maybe I don’t get it. But half of the time when they mention the FBI and the base or whatever they say Quantico or Virginia but the other half they say it’s in DC. Like in Sex, birth, death it’s all happening in DC but the very episode after in profiler profiled Derek says the unit he works for is only out of Virginia. IM SO CONFUSEDDDD

I so vividly remember an episode where someone broke into Reid’s apartment and took him because of how smart he was and he was obsessed with the brain. I don’t know if I dreamed this up but i just swear there was an episode like this!!

What’s that episode?

There’s an episode that I remember some guy was in prison I’m pretty sure. He started faking seizures I think, so he could get sent to and escape from the hospital. I don’t remember what crimes he committed or anything specific other than that but if you remember what episode it is please help!!

In the beginning, I really disliked her and she got on my nerves soooo much. She very slowly started to grow on me and by the time I actually ended up liking her, they >!killed her off!< 😭 which was a shame but I guess there wasn’t much left for her to do as a character?

Interested to see everyone else’s opinions on her!!

im rewatching for the like millionth time and why am i watching some of these earlier episodes and i find my self like tearing up????? this show has been a show i watch all the time since i was like 10, yes i know its young but my mom watched it so now i do lmfaoo. however i just watched s3 ep4 “Children of the dark” and I WAS SO SAD. maybe its because im getting older and now i feel more but like damn. so im just curious, whats some of your episodes that made you shed a tear? also all the big impact scenes like with the main characters ive bawled over already watching before so im more curious on like little episodes where its just a case their on, let me know!!
