If you're looking for help with a real crime, this is not the subreddit for you. Again, we're fans of a TV show.
Based on Reddiquette. Moderators reserve the right to remove any post/comment they see as violating those guidelines without contributing to the community.
1) Posts must be related. Do not link/post anything unless it is directly linked to Criminal Minds.
2) Remember the human. Any post/comment clearly targeting any individual will be removed. Sexism, racism, homophobia, Islamophobia, antisemitism, ableism, and anything along those lines is absolutely not allowed and will result in warnings and possible bans for violations.
3) Do not be intentionally rude or combative. Friendly digs and constructive criticism are fine, but realise that sarcasm is not easily detectable through text. Insults, flame wars, or trolling will be removed.
4) Do not post personal information. Revealing anybody's personal information will get you immediately banned.
5) No bashing. This includes characters, plots, episodes, etc. Saying "this character is the worst and everyone who likes them is the worst too" is bashing. Discussing how a character/plot/episode is flawed and could be improved is not.
6) Avoid spoilers. Spoilers in titles will result in removal of the post. Flair posts with the spoiler tag if needed. 7) DO NOT ASK WHERE TO FIND THE SHOW Reddit frowns on linking to underground sites. Legally, in the United States, Paramount+ and has all seasons. In most of the rest of the world, Disney+ has all seasons. Please check with our friends over at r/NetflixByProxy for more help. Your local public library may also have it.
8) FANMERCH PICS MUST have slip of paper with your username and date on them. This helps combat spam.
9) No Twitter/X links. And no link shorteners. We do not allow links to Twitter/X on this subreddit. Feel free to check to see if the content is available on another social media site or post a screen shot.
Please don't post link shorteners like bitly or tiny url. Reddit doesn't like them. We won't click them to make sure they're safe. Pinterest is also out.
10) Posts and comments must be in English Due to language barriers, translation software, and general time it takes to moderate, we really need things to be in English. We'd love to have volunteer moderators who speak every language, but that's not really feasible. So, English it is. Thank you for understanding.
10) Speak up. Reach out to the moderator team with any questions, queries, complaints or suggestions. And, most of all, have fun!

Those poor girls. Gina''s mother did what all of us would do. Though I'd rather let Michael rot in jail. Amelia and Sheila are now sisters for life. I refuse to use the names that man gave them. I'm bawling.
so basically i have a really really hard time with tv shows and new characters, idk why ig im always all for the OGโs lol, but i was lowkey so upset when blake joined, but i grew to really love her actually, and then she leaves ๐ญ man ts messed up, but anyways in s10 e1 when kate joins i was like oh brother here we go again, but i literally immediately fell in love w her like i love her and im so excited to continue watching but im lowkey scared abt the new ppl, i try not to give myself major spoilers but i will look something up if i am too curious abt it bc im inpatient asf lmfao so i know more ppl join and i just gotta stop being so judgey bc i loveeeee kate and i was not expecting that, still mad asf abt blake tho.
I feel like Iโm going crazy maybe this wasnโt a criminal minds episode but I couldโve sworn it was ๐ญ๐ญ basically there a episode where a group of boys get m*l3sted by some guy and later in their adult life i THINK one takes revenge thats why the BAU comes and as they search the houses they find out one of the previous victims has CP and while this is happening the boys are like trapped in some underground like square shaped hole in a building. idk maybe im losing it and this never happened ๐ญ
One of my favorite arcs. Emily is so complex, and Paget plays this arc SO WELL. I love the ambiguity.
So I know all episodes draw inspiration from real life cases, some more obvious than others in many different ways. I have seen a lot of lists, however this episode struck me as extremely similar to the Susan Nasan case which started in 1969. More specifixally, the fact that Samantha Allenโs character in this episode accuses her father of being the perpetrator based on memories of her childhood ; in the Susan Nasan case, the perpetratorโs daughter recalls the murder 25 years later as a flash memory of the event came back to her. Anyone feels the same ? Anyway, please share any case you think an episode is similar to; Iโm curious to see if you see some non obvious ones !
Rewatching his appearances on the show and also a documentary on North Korean prison campsโฆI can 100% understand why he was so mad lol. Firstly he thought Emily had used his son as a tool to get a promotion and let him be killedโฆbut also he spent 8 years in a North Korean prison camp. Was watching some videos about how brutal the treatment is there and itโs awful. Little to no food, excessive use of torture through stress positions, beatings, electrocutions and water boarding as well as the conditions of the camp being so run down. North Korean soldiers would even beat prisoners simply cos they didnโt speak Korean and it annoyed them, and if you arenโt being abused youโre doing hard labour. 8 years in there thinking his son was dead and it was Emilyโs fault. No wonder the dude wanted revenge. Not saying heโs a good guy at all or his actions or justified but found it quite interesting when I understand more of the context behind his 8 years in prison.
โThis is calm and itโs Doctor!โ
Iโm just watching this episode for the, approximately, millionth time.
I know some people suspect Spencer is autistic, but was it ever confirmed? Is a common take? Do you guys have any hcs or believe any of the other members of mental conditions? Were any confirmed?
(I donโt know what to tag this as)
Mandy Patinkin says he left the show because of the dark subject matter and violence. I mean, itโs a show about profiling serial killers who commit murder! Itโs not sunshine and rainbows, picking daises or singing songs. Like what was he expecting? Did he not read any of the scripts? Thereโs been so many actors on the show over the years and none of them said the subject matter was that difficult. Dark at times yes but not just bailing on over night. Patinkin then joined Homeland, a show about terrorism. Terrorists murder more than serial killers, how was that any better?
the title being โhanley watersโ is genius. even the episode title does not highlight the mother or her son but instead is the name of the dude that crashed into them ๐ช putting her son as a footnote in the CM world and in the real world
Not just wrong, but wrong as hell. They were parents who willfully put their lives, and the lives of their family, on the line daily.
Haley didnโt marry a profiler, she married a lawyer with regular hours. Will and JJ discussed both of them stepping down but itโs quite obvious that only one of them actually did. Girl getting tortured overseas and stuff while heโs at their home tending to their children.
We saw full classes of potential profilers. There were many available who couldโve taken their spot. They stayed because of their own ego.
Say what you want about Morgan, he did the correct thing as a parent and got up out of there. As he should have.
Just one episode this time, thanks in advance:
-Guy has some hallucinations that taunt him into killing. He has insomnia and killing helps him sleep. The hallucinations I believe were victims of a church fire (or something similar).
Again, thanks!
I mean itโs literally the cutest thing I have ever witnessed omg I will not get over this ever
Hi all I need help finding an episode I remember the unsubs being two females and it was in one of the later seasons 10-15 I think
Yes, he is life sized.
I'm new to the group so idk if this topic has been brought up before, but am I the only one who thinks that Prentiss and Doyle have an awesome chemistry and wish that they could've somehow turned him into a "good guy" and have them end up together?
Mandyโs line delivery here absolutely cracks me up. The physical embodiment of being fed up. โDo you even know what Iโm talking about?โ๐ญ Hilarious.
This rewatch has me really appreciating Gideon. His mannerisms and the way he composes himself are so unique. Like in the beginning of the Lila Archer episode when he meets Reidโs old friend at the art gallery, I noticed he doesnโt put on a friendly smile or fake laugh to be polite, he just stands there completely straight faced. Heโs the complete opposite of a people pleaser (I know thatโs stating the obvious given his line of work) but Iโm growing to really admire that about him.
Itโs amazing that Mandy was only in 2 seasons of a 15+ season show and yet Gideon still feels like such a significant main character. I know itโs partly because they call back to him & his storyline a lot throughout but still. Speaks volumes to how much life he brought to the character of Jason Gideon. (Season 3 and below flair for mention of Gideon leaving.)
Is anyone else annoyed by how everyone treats Reid when he tells statistics/facts about something related to a case or just overall random facts? For example Iโm in season 14 and I think in one episode Matt, JJ and Reid are in the bau and they talk about something and Matt asks Reid about something specific and then JJ calls Matt a rookie for โmaking the mistake and asking Reid something specificโ(my words, not jjโs). Isnโt anyone interested to learn something new and interesting from Reid cause I would be??
Ps Iโm sorry if I chose the wrong flair, I didnโt know which would fit the best
heyy. so this episode is abt the girl whoโs killing her sisters rapists and others involved. iโm not entirely sure if itโs even from an criminal minds ep but any help is appreciated. thank youuu
emily served so cunt in this era i hope i donโt see her name
Wtf Iโm so pissed Blake left, she was my favourite character after Reid, I know she wasnโt here as long as Prentiss but I liked Blake a lot more
When Prentiss and Gideon left I wasnโt overly attached to their characters and was fine continuing the show, but now that Blake has left I donโt even want to watch anymore, I donโt think any replacements will be able to live up to her
She was so cool and funny and smart (and letโs be real, a total milf) but I liked how she got on with everyone and it felt like she took a mother role in the team thatโs been missing the entire time before she joined, itโs a joke that Hotch is a father figure and Rossi is an uncle/grandfather figure but the team felt odd having only male role models but Blake was perfect, she was a badass older woman (not that old but still) that went above and beyond expectations set by Prentiss
I liked Prentiss sure but thought the Ian Doyle storyline was way too complex and never really bonded with the character (nothing to do with Paget, she did amazing) I just didnโt feel as connected to Prentiss as much as I do with Blake, maybe thatโs due to differences in writing or the actresses but I loved Blake so much I donโt even want to continue the show at all
And Iโm probably more on the sadistic side of life. But would any of you have killed someone off? I for sure would have liked to see at least 2 ppl gone for good. Especially one of the older cast members. I just like the drama and the feeling of having my heart ripped out.
This could be any season, or a season and beyond, a characterโs plot line, keeping some characters and getting rid of others, introducing plot linesโ anything. What would you do? Flood the comments below!
Iโm rewatching S3:E17 and in this episode, JJ and Will have a fight and briefly break up. I completely understand both sides as someone who has been in semi-distantโฆ situationships.
JJ makes a point that sometimes when youโve worked with people for so long and become so close that all you want is some part of your life to be private and you choose for it to be your personal relationships. I totally get it. As someone who is a semi-private person, but works long hours in the field with people, sometimes itโs hard to decipher what to share and not share. I totally get it.
However, I completely understand and see where Will is coming from where heโs willing to have these hard conversations when youโre all in about someone. It hurts when the person youโre seeing/developing a relationship hide or not want to have hard conversations in terms of where the direction of the relationship is going.
I hope this all makes sense, but just some thoughts I wanted to share! Feel free to comment your thoughts as well!
This is also what I like about the earlier seasons, itโs never black and white and the character stories/backstories are much more fleshed out than the later seasons. Writers have our characters 3 dimensional and real world problems outside of work and it justโฆ makes it that much more realistic AND relatable on some levels.
hi, first time CM watcher here, I am smack in the middle of the infamous prison arc (technically the end, I just finished green light), I am just a teensy bit confused. I am not a US citizen so all my knowledge of the procedure comes from tv and news... but across the episodes they reiterate that the "bureau doesn't have his back", multiple times which just confuses me as to why? I mean he has more than 12 years of exemplary service, multiple solved high profile cases and they literally waived qualifications for him, and yet they say the "brass doesn't have his back", because why? He went outside the country using his own passport? Don't they have some 'protect their own' thing going on?
I know Cat's pulling strings, but it can't be that she has more pull than David Rossi, founder of the bau, Emily Prentiss, interpol agent and daughter of a diplomat, everyone on the team has high prpfile connections including Reid, and yet he was put into a regular prison and had to stab himself for protective custody?
P.S- As much as I thought I'd hate the prison arc, I am surprisingly loving it, I swear I don't have a Reid torture kink. I also wanted to smack that councellor at the end of green light, he was so irritating, I hope Prentiss gets to smile smugly at him when they win.
Me and my mother watch criminal minds religiously, she loves David rossi to bits and was incredibly stressed in the last season/s when David rossi got kidnapped, etc. Personally, I find him incredibly annoying. He's incredibly old and needs to retire, he doesn't contribute much to the team except from stating what everybody else knows and letting them piece it together. He's intruding, and David rossis acting (Joe mantega) is horrible. It feels like he's just read the script directly before shooting the scene, and doesn't put any character into his role. Additionally, he's not really much of an interesting character. The only major key events in the team was his kidnapping, Gideons death, hallucinating towards the end, etc. Plus, he got very aggressive towards the later seasons. Does anyone else wish that he'd get killed off/retire in the new season coming out?
