I found this stick with all these cool patterns on it (from some kind of bug eating it, I believe) and I want to enhance it with color or something to boost contrast between the stick and the cool patterns. Like put gold in the recessed areas and a darker color on the raised area. Or maybe paint the whole thing with a darker color and wipe most of it off so the dark paint stays in the pattern?
What do y’all think?
Hi all! I picked up quilting recently to help calm my mind while I fight my way through postpartum anxiety and depression. I hope this is the right place to get some feedback and other crafter's eyes on my work 😊 The squares are loose interpretations of my daughter's name spelled out in maritime flags. This is my first time quilting and the first thing I've sewn in years. She's not perfect but I look at this square and see all the hours I measured, and pressed, and starched, and I'm really proud of myself for the first time since before becoming a mom.

Part of a series I'm working on, and the first video on the YT channel I'm putting together.
Painted a duckling and practice painting water surface. Turned out ok, but need to practice more I feel.
I have a silicone watch band in a lighter color that just looks so gross now and I can't get it clean no matter what I use. From what I've read, no paint sticks to silicone? But is there a way around this...maybe a base I could use, or some way to seal it so it stays on? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Made over a week with deep pour resin, seashells, sand, and a clay and uv resin diorama inside. I can’t believe it actually turned out so well.
I literally painted this morning and it already dried and cracked. I have painted my air cry clay with acrylic paint before and this never happened. Was it maybe my apartment is too cold? Im not sure what I want to do with it now…. I’ve spent so much time waiting for the clay to dry, im a little bit over this project… I planned on going over it with clear glaze kind of paint.
It’s a spoon rest for anyone wondering.
learned a lot with this project. also did extensive butterfly wing surgery on one of them. my toddler decided it looked better with its wings pulled off. i’m very proud of it. i think it’s encapsulates my personality very well. it’s one of my favorite things that i made. (besides my daughter)
