I moved from California to Cincinatti to be a part of a change, maybe a small one but a change nonetheless. I am proudly a Spanish Kindergarten teacher to an otherwise underserved population of low income families and latino migrant families. I wish to give them a great educational and memorable trip that they would likely not have if not for a field trip. Hi all! I currently live in SC and it just doesn't feel like home anymore. My fiance and I both think a fresh start would be good for us so we're starting the process to save up for a big move. One of the areas we've considered is Covington. What can you tell me about the area? Do you like living there? What are the pros and cons of living there? Are the people friendly? Is the healthcare system good? I want the good, bad, and ugly.

A little bit about us that might help:

• Both of us are in our early 30s
• Both work from home
• No children and no current plans to have children
• No family or friends in the area
• Generally homebodies but we do enjoy going out sometimes. Our favorite things to do are: have a couple drinks at a bar/brewery, walk around parks/downtown, attend concerts, go to festivals/faires, go to zoos/aquariums
• Big foodies. We love trying new foods and places to eat
• I'm chronically ill and disabled so access to quality healthcare is important
• Looking to be homeowners not long term renters. Ideally we'd be able to find a home either before we move or shortly after

I'm going to be attending an event this month on the covington side of the John A Roebling suspension bridge. As a very rural life dude I can't help but be a bit anxious going to a city this size for the first time.

My questions are is the area generally safe to walk to grab a bite to eat or explore and is the bridge walkable to check out the cinci side or better off finding one of those rental scooters/driving?

How safe is the area? I'm going to be living on Main Street and just want to know if it's a good place. I heard that stuff gets stolen off porches but aside from that are the apartments safe?

I’m going to be in town next month, is the Madison Ave area between Ninth and the Riverfront generally a safe area to be walking around 10-11 at night?

All study visits may take place in-person or via Telehealth. Participants will be compensated for the completion of follow-up assessments.

You may be eligible to participate if you:

• Meet criteria for borderline personality disorder following a study assessment
• Are NOT using certain substances (e.g., opioids, methamphetamine)
• Are 18 years or older
• Live in Kentucky (visits are Telehealth, so anywhere in KY is fine)

I'm most likely going to be relocating to Covington from Columbus for work, and I was wondering what the tax situation looks like. It seems that KY taxes and OH taxes are similar, except for KY vehicle registration which charges a percentage of the vehicle value. Correct me if I'm wrong, but these are the taxes I'm expecting to pay every year:

• 5% KY state income tax
• 2.45% Covington local income tax
• Vehicle registration taxes/fees
• No property tax because I'll be renting

Anything else I should know about KY expenses? Thanks in advance!
