Do I need to pay to submit Graded assignments in Google's crash course to python? If i don't will I get a certificate or not?

I just took my first course from coursera. It is Google's Crash Course to Python. It said I can enroll for free so i did. But now when i want to submit graded assessments, it says I have to pay to submit because a part of some bigger course or something, which was not explained at the beginning when i enrolled. Will i still get the cert for this particular course, or am i just wasting my time?

Coursera cuts you off from your courses if you cancel your subscription even if you have days until your next bill

Any subscription services that does this is complete bs, i paid for the month already, i should have till the next bill to continue using the service.

Garbage

Edit: okay apparently I was wrong, I still have access to the course for the remaining days it just doesent show up in my current courses list for some reason.

So at least there's that ? Interface could stand to be a bit less confusing tho

Data analysis

I've nearly completed this course. But I was just wondering what people are doing after they've gained their certificate?

As I don't work in a role that required data analysis.

I may look for some part time work in this later in the year. But will the certificate make me employable?

Does late submission of assignment will affect my overall grade in my Google IT Support Certification

Hi, I'm very new to Coursera, I have some assignments that have been overdue because I have enrolled in all courses via financial aid under the Google IT Support Certification not knowing that the deadlines will all be the same per module in each course. I just want to ask if it will affect my overall grade or my financial aid and can I still get the certification?

Do I need a PC for Google career certificates?

I plan on taking Google's project management course. I'm not ready to buy a PC or laptop yet but want to start asap. Is a PC/laptop nessecary or can I use my phone? If not how significant is the difference in usability?

Certificates are locked

So I just finished some Google project management courses and but the certificates are locked. I’m still under the free trial and it says I have to wait until the free trial ends to get it. I had a friend who did the same but it was an ibm course and he got his certificate under the free trial without having to wait till the free trial ends. I have the coursera plus free trial but do I have to pay the monthly fee just to get the certificates? Thanks.

Financial aid no longer covers the full cost

I've been doing my Google Cybersecurity Course on coursera with the help of financial aid. Midway through I've been given a discount which would be fine but there is no provision for international payment in my country. When I reached out, they said that Coursera only offers discounts as financial aid from now on. Quote from relevant section of the email: "At this time, if you’re approved for financial aid, you’ll receive a discount off the cost of the course. This was the reason why you didn't get the full discount. This is not something that we can change, as this is the new format that Coursera is working on at this time."

I completed my UX Design Professional Certificate. How can I add the certificate to LinkedIn?

Hey there! I completed my UX Course (all 7 of them). How can I add a certificate that shows I completed all of the courses? I don't want to add all 7 separate certificates when I can just add 1 certificate I complete the whole program, right?. How are people adding theirs so nicely? They have one certificate with all courses they have completed after finishing all of the courses. I saw a guy on LinkedIn have a Data Analytics certificate (just one) with all 8 names under stating they successfully completed the program.

IBM AI Developer

Is the IBM AI Developer course any good or worth getting? I can't any information about this course, and I am looking for an introduction to AI and Machine Learning. I plan on taking the Machine Learning Specialization from DeepLearningAI, but also want another course to better my skills. The IBM AI Engineering I heard is too challenging for someone at my level. Is the AI Developer course any good, or what other courses are recommended?

I think Coursera customer support just tried to screw me over

I have a 50% discount for the first month on a course subscription but they tried to charge me the full amount, when I contacted customer support and told them (with a screenshot showing that i would only be charged half the price) they told me this month would be full price and i'd only get the discount next month, even though i clearly read that i'd be charged half price on 24 April 2024. i'm going to email them back about this of course, but has anyone else experienced this?

Hello has anyone here or know anyone who has used the gi bill for graduate degrees offered on Coursera? I pursuing MS-CS at University of Colorado Boulder and they state that the program is eligible for GI Bill benefits but I see no information on how to get that started. I have reached out the veterans department at the university but they are taking forever to get back to me and I want to get this started ASAP.

Do I need a PC for the Google career certificates?

I'm planning on taking Google's project management course and wondering if it works better on a PC than a phone. If so how big of a difference is it and is it worth buying a chromebook on minimum wage?

New to coursera and have questions

Hi everyone, I just had some questions about coursera since it's my first time finding out about it and was interested in paying for coursera plus. I have 4 months of nothing to do.

  1. Is it at your own pace? Can I go quicker or slower?
  2. I'm looking to get into cloud engineering, is it worth paying monthly for plus to do the courses to introduce me to environments like AWS and Google cloud?
  3. Do certifications actually help out your career development? I'm just speaking about the certs on coursera exclusively not prep where you have to go elsewhere and pay for the exam to get the cert.

I'm currently doing a Bcomm in business tech mng and want to get into more data analysis/cloud pipelines careers when I graduate.

Thanks!

I can't see anything related to this package anymore. Is it a one-time offer, or does it come back from time to time?

What if I want to enroll in Meta Marketing Analytics without coding foundation?

Hi guys, I am working as a salesman in an insurance company. I want to expand knowledge in marketing since I believe that understanding marketing can help me a lot in the future. I come to know that Meta is offering a professional course called "Professional Marketing Analytics". I have checked all the sub 6 parts of it and noticed that Meta mentions "Python". So I wonder that if I don't have any coding knowledge, can I still enroll in this course and get the certificate?

Good certs/courses for a marketing major looking to get into MIS

Going into my senior year next year and i am adding MIS as a double major. I want to branch out into more data analytics that i can use with my marketing degree so my counselor and i decided that it would be best for me to join the accelerated program for MiS and my MBA.

Everything is gonna start going much faster next year for me especially cramming in as much MIS courses as i possibly can to finish as early as possible. I’ve looked into coursera quite a bit, including many reddit posts talking about it, but i wanted to ask myself for my particular situation.

As someone with 0 experience with anything data related, other than simple things that i did in my research classes, what are some courses or certificates that i should look into. Even if it is very simple information, i’m really just looking at a place to start so i can do as much reading and practice I can before fall.

Certificate for Computer Science UNIVERSITY GRADUATES?

I recently graduated from my CS MSc program and while I would enjoy further education through certificates, none of the ones I have found or tried were very “advanced”, despite claiming they would be.

IBM Advanced Data Science was fun but nothing we didn’t cover in various classes, maybe a bit deeper into a certain specialisation or technology.

What courses or platforms would you recommend for someone with a university graduate degree and work experience?

Why did I get a certificate if I have not payed for it? Is it worth the same as a paid one?

This might be a stupid question but I want to know the answer.

I finished Learn To Program: The Fundamentals by Toronto University and to my suprise I recieved a certificate, which I got my name on by verifying my identity. When I started the course it said you had to pay to get the certificate.

For me this is obviously a good thing, but I am curious about if there are different types of certificates or if this one is equally valid. I don't want to ask coursera in case they remove it/make me pay for it. I am going to start the continuation course, but I will wait paying for it too see if I get the certificate for free on that one too.

Is Google's Advanced Data Analytics that HARD?! kinda frustrated here..

Info about me
1st year bachelor student in Business Information Systems in Germany.
- Finished Google Data Analytics Course
- Beginner in Python
- Did 15 days of "100 days of code with angela" in python
- Did 50% of CS50 Python Course
- Did 50% of "Python for Everbody" in Coursera
- Watched and followed some python videos in youtube.
- Passed a Python programming class in my University
I am now in the part 3 of the Google's Advanced Data Analytics
"Exploratory Data Analysis with Python"
As i am doing the Labs, I am having difficulty doing the EDA by myself without looking for hints or even copying the exemplars provided.
I finished the videos and tutorials but i could not memorize everything and its not yet intuitive for me but the labs is already asking me to do things that seems complicated to me in python.
I am kinda disappointed and crushed right now because i feel like im cheating the course when i look at hints and sometimes copy the code. but the topic is really way complicated for me. I love the theory part of this but when it comes to the technical skills i am just lost!
The Exercise is asking way too much visualization and i am just exhausted and losing my motivation. there are even some syntax that were not shown in the previous videos/lessons in the course.
Do you all know the syntax and all the programming keywords when using programming languages?
Do you still get lost and refer to cheat sheets? or ask help from others?
i just feel like google's course is like "Here is how you manipulate and plot data" in a 10 min video then.
"Now for your exercise, do something complicated and turn your dataset inside out and show me magnificent visualizations" that takes me more than 2 hours and still going.
Just wanna rant. Thanks a lot. I really love the concept of data analysis but the technical part is just crushing me.

Front-End Development: IBM or Meta?

Hi everyone! Basically: title

Which of those cerifications would you recommend to someone that wants to learn JS and React?

I did Google's IT Automation with Python certification long ago and it was terrible for me to keep up... it starts well for newbies, but then the learning curve goes up and it gets really hard to figure out stuff that's not even taught throughout the course

So basically I don't want to have such an awful experience again, so which would you recommend to a noob when it comes to JS & React? IBM or Meta?

And which one would you say has more recent and updated contents?

Thank you!

Does Google it support prepare you for the ITF+?

I know a lot of people saying that the ITF+ is useless, but I am willing to take it anyways since iam a beginner, I also have the a free Coursera account and I have access to pretty much all of their courses for free.

So my question is does the Google it support will prepare me for the ITF+, and if I completed the courses , should I point my eyes to the ITF+ or at this point it's pretty much useless??(Because the fundamental will be on thee Google course)

Is there a good grant writing course on Coursera? I saw a fundraising course, but was not able to find something that was focused on writing grants, which interests me.

Becoming a personal trainer with a certification that gives you working rights is something doable with Coursera?

How does coursera track my progress ?

My university is apparently tracking our progress on coursera with some metrics on their backend and designating marks on that basis. Does anyone know what metrics they can possibly have ?

Edit 1: Our university is saying that they will grade us on how much time we have spent on the course out of the approximate time to complete. So i wanted to know what metrics do they have access to to get this number. Is it just the total videos watched or do they see the video skipping? Is it time spent on website?
