Cottagecore is an aesthetic depicting a simple, romanticized life in nature. It features themes of farm animals, earthy tones, soft illustrations, and more.
"Cottagecore, also known as farmcore, is an aesthetic based around the visual culture of an idealized life on a Western farm. Common themes include plants, animals, rural kitchens and straw."

My wife is supportive of my need for whimsy in my life and knows I love cottagecore. She found this delightful book by a wonderful artist and bought it for me. Just look at those boots and adorable mushroom hat!
My front yard was giving “creepy cottage in the woods” this morning ☺️
Needlefelted this little forest friend today.
I'm trying to emulate some of the Anthropologie mushroom decor they have on their site including some mushroom ornaments and this is going to be table display.
I got foam balls, cut them in half and gutted them and hit them repeatedly with a knife and a hammer for 🍄🟫 shaping
put "velvet" stretchy material over them, half "pearls" I had from crafting for an event ages ago, had a white snail shell and added mica powder to make it rose gold to match the mushrooms.
Used papier mâché for the stems.
I'll be sculpting a snail to go in the shell using leftover white pro fima, still need to add dried grass, crepe paper, moss to finish it off.
Also added gold leaf including to the edge of the wood slices, parts of the mushroom and the snail shell as I had some laying about.
The key hole is paper clay mold I did long time ago and it was in drawer of broken paper clay pieces.
It'll either end up disaster or great??
Painted this in gouache because I adore the little frogs.
I've had this touch lamp in my living room for a few months and it felt so out of place. I put it in my kitchen today and im just over the moon at how cute it is. Peep my merry mushroom canister I got for $4 on vacation 🍄✨️
Discovered this mountain biking this weekend
Came upon this lovely butterfly tray and coaster set, which feels very cottagecore to me.
No idea what to do with it (other than use the coasters of course), but I’m thinking I should find a vintage glass pitcher with matching glasses ASAP. 🤩
PS - I do not have a cottage-y house at all. I just knew I needed this in my life…so any advice on how to display, or what colour glass to pair with it would be much appreciated. ❤️
