You should try this if you're getting a pup any time soon

A friend of mine created this detailed dog training series a couple of years ago and I feel like it doesn't get the love it deserves. She's a fully accredited dog trainer and built this course over several years in order to save new dog owners money. Hiring a private trainer for your pup normally costs $100+ per hour and taking them to puppy preschool is typically $150 for 6 classes that just go over the basics (sit, stay etc.). Not to mention if you want to take your dog to the more advanced classes after puppy preschool it's hundreds more. She made this course so she can spend time with her pups whilst still helping people train their dogs.

Adrienne teaches everything covered there in this one course so you can teach your pup in the comfort of your own home, at your own pace and for a fraction of the price. The best part is, she works with you as you teach your pup, you can reach out to her whenever you run into any issues and she'll help. So you still get the 1 on 1 expert opinion that you'd get from a private trainer, all you have to do is send her an explanation or video of the problem you're trying to address or issues in teaching that you're having.

Delete this post if it's not allowed but I just thought this might help some new dog parents :)

Update: thank you for trialing our business

Some of you may have seen our post a couple of months ago where we were looking for people to trial our business, for those who didn't here's a quick rundown. A friend and I thought it would be cool if you could turn any photo you want into a paint by numbers kit. That way you can paint your dog, cat, partner, the whole family or whatever you want without having to be an artist.

We looked up the idea and found that the current stores in the market were ridiculously expensive or only offered kits without a frame or with a DIY frame (who wants to put together their own frame? Don't you just want to open the box and start painting). So we looked around and talked to a bunch of suppliers and eventually we were able to produce custom paint by number kits cheaper then anywhere else and already framed.

We reached out to you here on Reddit asking you to test them out at cost price and we've received some amazing feedback as a result. Thank you if you were one of our OG customers! We want to continue to grow and get more feedback and reviews though so we're re-opening the offer in case you missed it the first time around or you want to order some more kits.

You can use the code "COSTPRICEREDDIT" to get our kits for cost price (our margins are pretty slim right now, we want to be as affordable as possible). You can get up to 4 kits at that price so feel free to buy a few and plan a date night, family activity or just get your Christmas shopping done early. If you've already ordered with that code it has no been reset so you can get the deal again!

We look forward to getting more feedback and hopefully you'll love our kits enough to spread the word to your family and friends!

Part time and Flexible work in a cornwall.

My partner and I have unexpected twins on the way and he is currently freelancing photography but due to the time of year work is drying up. He has a full driving license and is very willing but just trying to find opportunities at this point. Any ideas would be massively appreciated!

Best areas to live in Cornwall? (Coastal)

I’ve done a couple of Falmouth vs… but I want to make sure we’re not missing out on investigating somewhere.

My husband and I are planning to relocate back to Cornwall ASAP next year (we just have a buyer on our house so need to get a move on finding somewhere ourselves).

We used to live in Falmouth so know and love it but are open to other areas - however, other than Padstow (where my parents live), we don’t know the residential day-to-day reality of other towns we might like to consider.

Would really appreciate any suggestions or useful insight!!

Key info:

— we’re both early 30s, looking to start a family in a year or two

— we both wfh as fully remote on middle incomes

— walking distance to a (swimming) beach is a must, we want to be able to clock off work at 6pm and jump in the sea!

— a decent town is important to us, again we value being able to pop to a shop on a lunch break and have options of pubs/restaurants (not looking for a Truro level but more knowing there’s a Boots, a Chinese takeaway, that kind of thing)

— other than Fal, we’ve so far been most tempted by properties in Fowey and St Ives

Fowey or Falmouth? 30 somethings wanting to start a family

We were set on moving to Falmouth (well, moving back, we lived there about few years ago so know and love it) but a property in Fowey is tempting us.

Aside from knowing we like a good day trip to Fowey, we’re less confident on whether it’s a good place to be long term. We do wonder whether being in a non-student town might be appealing… although the flip side is the students of Falmouth keep it bustling year round.

Really keen for any insights from Fowey locals, pros and cons! We’re early 30s, looking for a nice community and hoping to have a baby in the next year or two.

(ETA: We both have fully remote jobs so would be WFH, if a factor.)

Why are the chips in your chippies so nice?

I’m from Leeds and I would describe our chip shop chips as sort of soggy in a nice way (with scraps) but whenever I went to Cornwall as a kid everywhere seemed to do really crispy chip shop chips and I’ve been dreaming about it ever since, do they double cook them?? Is it the mystique of being on holiday?

A different observation is that everyone seemed much better looking, but that was probably because everyone looked like they’d seen the sun in the last 2 weeks.

Help with tracking down family?

Hi there! I’m an American trying to track down my Cornish ancestors. My mom is from Britain, and both her parents are Cornish. She was adopted as a baby with little information about her bio family.

Are there any good sites for looking into Cornish genealogy?

Did any of you ancestors of which you know speak Cornish?

I am very interested in the Cornish language, that the rugged southwestern peninsula spoke a form of Celtic 300 years ago is fascinating, and I would like to know whether any of yous have any ancestral links to this ancient tongue.

Is Stargazy Pie a real thing or an internet hoax?

I love to play the dulls with my gf every evening and the other day in foodguessr we came across a dish and from the photos alone we were LOSING it. we probably rolled around the floor laughing our stomachs out for 10 minutes straight because we couldnt believe this is a real thing.

Now were almost at the point to drive to Cornwall (from Berlin) only to see, if you can actually order that somewhere or if this is just another internet hoax.

Is stargazy pie a real thing? Please dear god.

Light on Trevone Bay

About 20 years ago when I was 14 years old I went on holiday to Trevone Bay. There was me my auntie and uncle and my cousin. We were staying at the pink house for around week. We had a amazing time! The living room in the pink house is on the 1st floor and it has an amazing view onto the beach and cliffs.

One night me and my uncle stayed up watching a film. It was midnight and my uncle had fallen asleep on the sofa, the film ended so I switched the TV off. This is when I noticed a light on the opposite side of the bay on the cliff edge (near the big hole). My uncle woke up and I asked him what do you think that light is. It was midnight and obviously very dark outside so it was unusual for someone to be up there at that time.

The light then started moving down the cliff path towards the beach car park. We used some binoculars and could see that it didn't look like torchlight, it looked more like a ball. It was a constant ball shaped light, if it was a torch it would be shone on the ground but this wasn't, there was no light on the ground around it and the ball of light was about the size of a basketball. About halfway along the cliff path there is a stile and it takes some time to climb over the stile but this light floated straight over it. The light floated all the way down to the car park which is where it went out of view.

In total we watched the light for about an hour and to this day we've never understood what it was. We spent most nights after this looking for it again but it never showed.

I know this is probably a strange post but I'm wanting to know if anyone else has seen it and could 'shed some light' onto what it might have been.

How are the Unique Homestays near Newquay?

We're planning to travel to Newquay for a week and were looking at a place to stay. Came across this site called unique homestays. Has anyone got any reviews for their cottages?

Buskers in Cornwall

As someone who frequents different towns around the county playing music. I'm curious, what are peoples opinions in general. In particular i would love to hear from shopworkers/people who live in town centres etc as to whether you deem us street performers to be a nuisance or if you enjoy our presence. Aaaand queue the open can of worms! 🤣

A photo of it trying to snow in Redruth.

This was taken yesterday. Unfortunately, the ground was too wet for the snow to stick on the ground.
