With the distinctive One Course At A Time curriculum, Cornell College students immerse themselves in just one academic discipline per three-and-a-half-week block. This focus makes it possible for professors to go beyond the traditional lecture format through extended discussions and labs, all day simulations, and off-campus learning for an afternoon or an entire block without competing with other classes. And students can easily take a block to gain experience through internships.

Is there anywhere near mount vernon iowa like a Walmart or target where I can get Cornell College merch if the Campus bookstore is closed?
Visiting campus but it's July 4th so the bookstore is closed.
I’m looking at colleges to apply to for and Cornell College struck my eye. I’ve seen that this college does a one class at a time schedule, and I’ve got some questions about it.
Edit: -How expensive is regular items compared to an average suburb in Minnesota or Illinois
I got accepted to Cornell College (Iowa) a couple months ago, and I want to know how it is? I know this has been asked before, but when I try to search for reviews, they're either outdated, about Cornell University, or don't exist at all. I've visited campus and think it's rather pretty and homely, but what's it like actually living and attending there, in the experience of a current student? Do any previous students have any advice for if I were to attend? I do lowkey want to know what to expect, lol-
I can’t tell but I’m wondering if Olin hall is on fire…
How is Cornell after Covid? I read that the social scene died down a lot. Pros and Cons about the school for a deciding freshman? Also heard the food can be pretty crappy and bullying isn't taken care of well.
I’m a sophomore and although I don’t really have any friends or have done much social outside of school/club created things, partly due to being autistic, partly due to my own lack of confidence or whatever, I’ve made a generalization about the 2 types of people here. Maybe there are more but this is just basic stereotyping. The first one I like, the other not as much.
Variant 1: liberal/leftist, came because of the block plan, usually not an athlete, mostly women but not all.
Variant 2: apolitical, usually an athlete who came here mainly for that, seems like they were popular in high school, mostly men but not all.
Agree? Disagree? I know this is a tiny sub but it could still be active.
Hi r/cornellcollege!
We are a pair of computer science graduate students at Clemson University who are studying perceptions of teamwork in online undergraduate classroom breakout rooms.
We ran a pilot study earlier this year with our own student body and would like to expand it now to other 4-year, 2-year, and online colleges/universities.
We are hoping that by posting here, more students/professors from community/technical colleges and universities in the surrounding area will see this and we can expand our participant pool.
To participate in this survey you must be one of the following:

This is an institutionally approved IRB study. If there are any questions, please reach out via DMs.
Thinking abt coming to Cornell college and honestly it would be great if employers thought I was coming from Cornell university being that it’s an Ivy and all. I know this sub is dead, but would love to hear whether that’s worth considering as I look at the school
Hey guys, this sub is pretty dead but hopefully I can get a couple answers. I'm going to cornell next year, so I wanted to know more about what I was getting into. First, on the housing preference form, it asks if im a smoker. I smoke weed but not cigs, and I assume they mean cigarettes, but I wasn't sure. Next, what would thr best dorm be for a male participating in sports. Finally, how is the drug and party scene? And any suggestions for a new student? I'm coming from California. Thanks
Seems pretty dead but hey worth a shot
Third year here and I just feel like I haven't made any good friends. I know there's "talk to people" and "go out more" but I've tried those with no luck. Any apps for communicating or anything?
Anything from what to bring from your dorm to how good the wifi is to what Greek life is like. I am happy to hear about whatever wisdom any current Cornell College students have to offer. What would you have appreciated knowing when you were coming in as a freshmen?
Edit: Thank you for all the helpful answers. It is nice to see that this sub is still alive.
Or lack thereof. What are some of the best bar stories that you have had in the Vern
