I used Bravetart’s recipe, slightly modified for browned butter. They suggest 2.5 sticks and 2 eggs when using browned butter.

I have a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that asks for regular butter, however I've only used ghee for this recipe and it comes out amazing
However when I try to make it with regular butter the cookies always come out flat and cakey and struggle to form an actual "dough" consistency when mixing
Recipe 1/2 cup of butter 1/2 cup of sugar 1/2 cup of brown sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla 1 1/3 cup flour 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt Eye ball chocolate chips(you can never have too much 😉)
Never made a reddit post but I’ve had this opinion for a while and was wondering if anyone else noticed this too. I also haven’t been able to find anyone really talking about this so I thought might as well. I have eaten Pillsbury cookies (both sugar and chocolate chip) made from the cookie dough they sell in tubes for years, I grew up with them. Recently more and more I haven’t been able to deny a nasty aftertaste they all leave. I don’t think I can eat them anymore because this aftertaste completely ruins the experience. I’ve also noticed the aftertaste is present both when eating the raw dough and when the cookies have been fully cooked. I’m not good at describing flavors or tastes but the best way I can describe it is like eggy but gross. The after taste doesn’t go away unless I eat something else otherwise it’s like the longer it sits the grosser it tastes. I know Pillsbury changed their recipe a couple years back to be safe to eat raw and figured the change in taste had something to do with that and maybe what they substituted the eggs with. After making some Halloween themed sugar cookies this week and putting a lot of effort into them, only to have this problem, I’ve finally decided to just find my own recipe to make my cookies from scratch in the future. Needless to say I’m curious if anyone else noticed this aftertaste too.
sorry this is so long lol clearly I’m very annoyed with this and just need to get over it
tldr: noticed pillsbury cookies leave a bad aftertaste and wondered if anyone else had noticed this too
I would like some tips on how to make a cookie soft. As a new baker, what steps should I take?

Don’t get me wrong they are always good but never as good as when you first bake them! I’d love to find a recipe that holds up for a few days afterwards!
Guys what's the best chewy chocolate chip cookie out there? Not including homemade because I can't bake right now.
Oatmeal cookies with peanut butter, shredded coconut, MMS, and chocolate chips.
Safe to say I won’t try making cookies for a while. May have to do cookie related research?
