It’s obvious. DEI has been accepted as a negative term by the American public now and it will CONSTANTLY be used to gaslight the American people.

We need to steal it, just like they did with “TDS - Trump derangement syndrome”

If you’re going to reply to anything about DEI it needs to flip this around right back on them. So something like:

“So you want to lie and blame this on DEI so you can get them fired and Trump can bring in his own incompetent DEI - “deranged, extreme, and irrational” - hires? If you think DEI leads to incompetency then just wait until you see what happens with Trumps DEIs”

Obviously, I’m not the best at making it sound good right out the gate, but with some thought and collective agreement then we can steal this and use it against THEM

I was hanging out with my brother because we work together, he got me this job since I needed some help, and we were hanging out before work (thankfully we live separately, me with a roommate and him with our mother) and I heard him watching Tik Tok.

One of the videos he swiped to was talking about how Anne Frank may not have been a real person. He has a tendency to watch videos of people being dumb or saying dumb shit and mocking it, and I thought that's what this was going to be, and I even looked at his phone with a confused expression.

The first sign that something was wrong though was when he didn't respond. The second sign was when the video kept going, longer than would be necessary for a joke or a shit post.

Eventually I just say incredulously, "What the fuck?" as that's actually how we mock certain shit, but rather than join in like he usually did, he started to explain, "Well, we have had documentation that she may not have been real. Back in the day, it was hard to prove, and the trail of evidence saying that she was real wasn't very reliable."

I started to imagine the photographs of Anne Frank that we have, but he showed me pictures of different versions of Anne's diary written by different people, including him making a point to say Eleanor Roosevelt's name when showing that she wrote the introduction to one of the versions of Anne Frank's diary. I even asked him if he knew who Eleanor Roosevelt even was, and when he stammered without answering, I said, "It sounds like the trail of evidence that we do have that she existed is just being fucked with."

I was trying to imply that he's leaning into conspiracy theories and that Eleanor Roosevelt writing the introduction to a diary of a Holocaust victim doesn't mean that the Holocaust victim never existed, even when I pointed out that the diary was definitely edited because Anne Frank was also exploring her own sexuality but that part gets edited out sometimes to make it more "appropriate" for kids in school to read to learn about the Holocaust without getting distracted about a girl possibly being bisexual.

He basically responded with a passive "yeah" and moved on and the conversation stopped there.

Then, within single digit minutes, he laughs at a joke in his group chat and shows me the joke, but when I don't understand it, he explains it by saying "(someone in his group chat) is antisemitic as a joke," talking about a separate topic relating to Jewish students.

I'm starting to think "as a joke" is just a cover (and by "I'm starting to think," I actually mean "I'm pretty sure").

Previously the National Labor Relations Board would be there to protect you from unreasonable demands being put upon you; but no longer. You see, Trump has fired the acting chair, and in doing so shuts down the entire Bureau.

Increase your working hours, reduce your salary, diminish your benefits, not a damn thing you can do about it!

In his ongoing rampage against the laws of the land, Trump this week fired National Labor Relations Board acting chair Gwynne Wilcox — despite her congressional appointment not being up. Wilcox’s firing closes down the NLRB, because it’s left with just two members, and the Supreme Court has ruled that the board needs at least three to issue any rulings. Trump also fired NLRB General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo, leaving board attorneys who investigate employee and employer complaints without any guidance.

Presto — American workers are no longer protected from illegal firings or unfair labor practices by their employers. The National Labor Relations Act of 1935 is effectively gone. Employers can now wreak havoc on their workers. Of course, most employers are already doing this, but at least the threat of unionization kept some from blatant bullying.

I live in New Zealand. I almost never use TikTok. I don’t engage with any right wing content whatsoever no conspiracy theories nothing. Most of what I engage with is lil creative videos with some music, some left wing politics (NZ only nothing US based at all) maybe if they pop up and NZ themed stuff. Just now I posted and scrolled for a couple mins and I saw multiple Americans saying something along the lines of “You mean to tell me an AMERICAN BLACK HAWK flew INTO A JET. FLOWEN BY AN AIR FORCE PILOT. Or something along those lines, that’s as much as I watched I don’t wanna engage in that shit. But it’s crazy I’m seeing it here. It feels like damage control because there is no reason the algorithm should be pushing videos like that to me here. It’s the most right wing weird conspiracy shit I’ve ever seen in like 2 years of using TikTok.

Serious question: What is the line that Trump & friends would have to cross for them to realize that what's happening isn't okay? He's done everything short of openly merc'ing another American. Even then, they'd make excuses for him. What event or action would be enough for Conservatives to finally flip on him?
