If I take a complextro track and keep all the bells, synths, environmental soundscapes and cool vocal effects and just remove Dubstep and growl basslines and give it that more "emotional edm" feel. What would be the genre?? Any examples. Thanks
Everyone keeps telling me my song is 1 of 50 different sub genres and that it doesn’t count as dubstep 😂 idk anymore. So I wanted to get talks opinion on what sub genre of edm yall think this is
Hey y'all! I've been a lurker for some time ever since I started getting into this genre (around April this year). Just wanted to share the playlist I've gathered so far along with my particular favorites in case anybody wants to check them out to expand their own repertoire or give me any recommendations.
If you want to know a bit about my history with the genre before/after checking my playlist, I was a massive Skrillex fan back in the day when he started to get mainstream. I was also one of the fans to think Skrillex vs. deadmau5 was a thing and was obviously a Skrillex fan, so I didn't touch any deadmau5 besides Ghosts n Stuff. Well, in around 2019, I heard I Remember, Fn Pig, and Strobe for the first time, and I started to become a massive fan after that. More recently, I was trying to find music similar to deadmau5 and found that a lot of it is considered to be complextro. Well, I started listening to the music, checking the subreddit for recommendations, and now this playlist exists!
Here's the favorites and then the playlist. FYI, the order there in is simply the order I put them into my playlist.

Feel free to let me know what you think of any of these if you've already heard them, let me know what you think on your first listen to them, or give me recommendations on new songs I should try! I'm always excited to find new music I like. My music taste stretches very far, and I'll consistently ride out a song I don't like to see if it grows on me, so feel free to recommend the fringest music you got!
