Chair Massage

Anywhere that does those quick chair massages? I used to see them at malls but don't anymore. Just need something quick and not necessarily a spa situation

Long Term Dog Boarding

My neighbor is going to the Colorado School for the Blind after the new year and was telling me he’d have to get rid of his two German Sheppards as they aren’t allowed at the school and his sister he lives with works 60-70 hours a week as a home healthcare worker.

The dogs are not certified service animals but he had been training them since he first began to lose his sight (still young in his 30s). They are his mobility. After talking with his sister she’s agreed that they would rather have someone look after them/board but just don’t have the funds for that.

Does anyone have any ideas on how he could do this and get his dogs back after school? Apparently the program is 6-9 months long and he’ll be back home. I would hate for him to lose his companions just because he’s trying to make his situation better. I’d take them in but I have a young son with autism and a 1 year old golden retriever. They are well trained dogs but they need more attention than I could give.

I don’t know if there’s any services that do long term boarding/fostering but I would pay for it anonymously if anyone has a suggestion.

I maybe a transplant from Ohio.

We moved here in 2010. As a sports fan though I'm a r/Cleveland fan. We have room for anyone that wants to jump on the bandwagon this year. Game 1 is tomorrow morning at 11am. To be clear my National League team is the Rockies. Go Guardians beat r/Detroit

Local goodies?

I'm trying to put together a basket of local Colorado goodies for a fundraiser. Any recommendations for items? The basket is going to Tennessee so it must be an item that can travel and is shelf stable.

If the items are pet related, all the better!

Photographers! I have a question

Hello!!

Got a new camera recently and wanted to "experiment". Do you have any recommendations for street photography locations? I’ve tried a few places but haven't had much luck finding a good spot.

Also, could you let me know the nearest place to see some foliage? (without driving 3-4 hrs)
Thanks!!!!

Small cemetery near Lathrop State Park in Walsenburg

Back in 2019 driving from Lathrop State Park to Hogback Ridge, I saw a small, probably 10-12 tombstone cemetery just off of a dirt or gravel road. There were no gates or signs. I have since tried to find it to no avail. Just wondering if anyone in the Walsenburg area might know of it and where it is located? Thanks!

Local fish shop that’ll buy back fish

My cichlids had babies and now I’m looking for a shop that’ll take them. I reached out to the shop I originally bought them from and said they have a full stock. I doubt the large stores will take them. So if you know one please let me know!

Hiking in November

Mountain-obsessed Floridian here. I am itching to take a ≈5 day trip to the area to do some hiking. I’m no expert hiker but love it dearly and would likely do simple, shorter trails.

Is mid-November a decent time to hike? Or will the trails be icy and snow covered? I know the weather is practically unpredictable these days, but hoping to get an inkling of whether planning a hiking trip makes sense next month. Just day hikes, no camping.

I know it’ll be freezing (for me, at least) but I’ll have layers. Main thing I’m worried about is getting stuck in snow or slipping on a mountain LOL.

Thanks in advance, really excited to be back in the mountains again!

Hey guys, could we maybe stop being a dick to our Mobility Aid neighbors and start putting trash/recycling at the curb instead of obstructing the sidewalk?

Oh, what a difference a few inches makes. My buddy works as a trash collector and confirmed they're supposed to go at the curb anyway. There is literally no reason for any of you to be upset at me suggesting this, but I know a bunch will be anyway.

Racquetball

Hey guys, I was curious if there are any racquetball courts around me. I am located off of Powers and S Carefree. I have been itching to get into a racquet sport of some sort and really loved racquetball in college. I know there used to be a court at the Gold's Gym out here, but I haven't been able to find any since that has closed down.

If not, I may look into Pickleball

Information about events

I'm looking for a newsletter or Facebook group, just something that tells you about the different events around colorado springs on a regular basis. The best I've gotten so far is the Independant and word of mouth.

Where to see fall colors (10/4)

Im brand new to the area and the western half of the country in general lol so sorry if this is a stupid question.. I plan on driving towards woodland park/cripple creek area as i hear that is pretty good right now. Where do you recommend actually going though? Are there any easy hikes around that are- good for seeing all the color or do most people just drive around?

Crunchy salad bar thing from Fargos

My family lived in Colorado Springs in the 90’s and my sister is reminiscing about the Fargo’s salad bar. She said there were some small brown crunchy toppings that were like seeds or nuts but none of us can recall what they were. Anyone have any ideas?

Not bacon bits, not lentils, not sunflower seeds…we’re stumped. Apparently they may not be on the salad bar anymore.

Edit: yes, solved it! It was pine cones and asbestos! Thanks everyone!

Expired registration- what's the process look like to get this fixed?

Hoping someone would be kind enough to give me an idea of what it's going to look like to get my registration up to date now that it's already expired. It's an out of state registration that needs to be changed to CO.

Not an excuse but if you want to know why- i moved from out of state, didn't realize i had 90 days to switch over to CO. Then it expired anyways and I've just been super anxious about the process because of that. Obviously need a car to get to work, and I'd like to stop being paranoid about being pulled over and getting in to a wreck and this being an issue on top of that.

Having an idea of what the situation will look like would help a lot. I appreciate any help!

Garden of the gods DMV

I was just at the DMV at garden of the god to title and register my new vehicle I bought out of state. They were surprisingly quick. BUT when they told me the cost of taxes and title, I questioned it immediately. It was about 4k over what I was expecting. I asked about my trade in credit. The lady told me they don’t do that and you are taxed off MSRP. I explained, I didn’t pay MSRP cause of the trade. Someone else overheard and stepped in. The lady originally helping stated that she has been doing that for anyone. She had been overcharging people by thousands of dollars. The issue was corrected for me. So if you were there recently, might want to check into what you paid in taxes, if you had a trade in tax credit.

Edit: I’m only talking about sales taxes not registration tax and fees

Need to get rid of a car? Solution: park it along Powers and wait.

Without fail, any car I've ever seen parked along Powers gets stripped in days. First the wheels, then it will be broken into, and if lucky..it will end up a torched shell. I've seen this happen to 5 cars over the past three years. This would be an easy catch for law enforcement with decoy cars.

Stuff to do this weekend?

Every time I meet my boyfriend up in Denver he’s always got something awesome planned for us. A cool brunch spot, a concert, comedy show, you name it. Is there anything interesting happening around COS this weekend? I just want to be able to repay the favor.
We don’t drink, so brewery stuff is out.

man outside of walmart

Yesterday I was heading northbound on N Academy and there was this man with a posterboard on the sidewalk that said “Be aware, Venezuelan illegals shop at this Walmart” (the Walmart on academy and jamboree or voyager i think) and my jaw DROPPED. I was absolutely appalled with this man. Just a heads up though if you see him.
