United States of America focused discussion regarding the potential collapse of civilization, defined as a significant decrease in human population and/or political/economic/social complexity over a considerable area, for an extended time. We seek to deepen our understanding of collapse while providing mutual support, not to document every detail of our demise.

Sudan’s ongoing crisis has left millions in need, but amidst the turmoil, one country stands tall in its humanitarian efforts—the United States. As the largest donor, America has provided over $1.4 billion in aid since October 2022, including nearly $1 billion from USAID. These funds have brought vital resources like food, clean water, and medical assistance to those suffering the most. In times of global crisis, America's commitment to helping others shines brighter than ever.
It’s both inspiring and humbling to see the United States play such a critical role in responding to the crisis in Sudan. With over $1.4 billion in humanitarian aid committed since October 2022, and $980 million of that coming directly from USAID, the scale of this contribution cannot be overstated. While many other nations have stepped in to offer support, the U.S. has truly gone above and beyond in its dedication to alleviating the suffering of the Sudanese people. In times of unprecedented need, the international community must come together, and America is setting a remarkable example of what can be achieved when we prioritize human lives.
Hey all,
Since the /r/collapse mods are now working this sub, we wanted to make sure we get the vibe right.
I revised the rules this morning to reflect our current core rules from /r/collapse and can be found here.
What we want feedback on is if folks want:
1.) Submission Statements similar to /r/collapse and other subs
2.) A local observation sticky to focus on state and city issues near you
3.) Posting limitations similar to /r/collapse (three posts per 24 hour period)
Lastly, there aren't really common questions just yet, but that is something we would consider developing as time goes by.
Please let us know!
This sub has been set to private for a while as it was unmoderated; it's now public again!
My only request is we try to ensure politics posts especially are related to collapse - this is not r/politics 2.0, it's r/collapseUS.
Any investigative users will notice I'm also mod of r/collapseUK, so just to explain away any potential conspiracy theories, I'm moving back to the US this summer so I was curious what this sub was like, and saw it needed some help to operate. I'm happy to share the arduous task of moderating a quiet subreddit like this, and have added u/thekbob and asked another user who expressed interest to join the team.
Hi folks, following /u/levdeerfarengin's lead I've created /r/CollapseAware_MA as a base for practical collapse response hub for the state. It's time to start thinking about what we can actually do in the face of what's to come and what is already happening... and to do that we need to start looking a little closer to home. I'm hoping we will be working in tandem with other CollapseAware subs moving forward to support each other's efforts, but before we can work together as communities... we need to build a community that actively works for positive good off line as much as on. If you are a Masshole, I'll hope you join us as we attempt to "repent to our weather lords." If you are from other places in the world feel free to say hi and chat with us. The goal isn't to isolate, it's to coordinate.
Solidarity! Poor 'Possum
Hello, I hope you will allow me to invite followers of r/collapseUS to take a look at the new community being built around having a practical response to Collapse, in Vermont, USA.
While it is oriented to locals, some locals will be in this Reddit, and otherwise any one from this Reddit is welcome to join the conversation, where it isn't too local to be interesting. I just wrote a short review of Isaac Asimov's Prelude to Foundation, for the curious.
If we don’t talk, we won’t know, and we can’t plan.
As the world hurtles into an unplanned reactive collapse, calls for eternal positivity and faith in yet-to-be-invented technologies, are precluding necessary planning and preparation. Join us as we #TalkCollapse and set the ground work for taking realistic and meaningful action commensurate with the severity of our predicament. REGISTRATION
