I want to buy something.

Step 1 - Reply directly to this post.

If you want to buy multiple things, please put them all into a single comment.

Off-topic comments will be removed.

Step 2 - Make your comment as descriptive as possible.

The mods may remove comments that are vague or low-effort.

Step 3 - If a possible seller contacts you, exercise care and caution before sending payment.

Mods cannot protect against fraud and ineptitude. Some steps you can take to increase chances of a successful experience include:

  • Do not buy from a seller who has not replied to you comment before reaching out privately. If they cannot reply to your comment, it is possible they do not meet the requirements of participation here or are banned. Background: The Qing Dynasty was the last dynasty in China. All of these copper pieces (which features the dragon design) were minted between 1902 and 1911 (the year the Republic of China was established).

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday and cheers to the new week! I wanted to sell some coins including the highlights from my personal collection--the MS 63 Fatman Dollar with the Triangle Yuan variety (PCGS) as well as a rare 1909 (central mint 吉) 20 Cents in a choice AU 55 grade from PCGS. Both are classic and more elusive Chinese silvers!

I also wanted toĀ reduce the pricesĀ of my previous sale which was highlighted by a rare 1909 20 Cash from Kirin Province into the mix. This is a piece I was able to get in Hong Kong back in 2017 or so and it is a rare type. We note that it has a central 吉 character representing Kirin Province and features the Empire Style TCTK dragon on the reverse.

Overall, this is another sale of raw and graded coins from my personal collection. These are ALL new items that are all graded and from my personal collection.

LOT A:Ā LUSTROUS and TONED MS 63 (PCGS) China FATMAN Dollar - Rare Triangle Yuan Variety - Problem Free and CHOICE UNC! - 1914 (Year 3)

  • Nice cartwheel luster and strong strike, especially the wreath design. Golden and even toning. A classic Chinese crown or dollar sized coin with a popular following and features the bust of Yuan Shikai.
  • The TRIANGLE YUAN variety maybe a ... RESTRIKE and used after the establishment of the People's Republic of China after 1949. For usage in Tibet and other frontier regions with a strong preference of silver.
  • Rare variety and more uncommon than the unconnected and normal YUAN variety. Moreover, many of these Fatman dollars--a classic series--are often cleaned or have no tone. :D

  • A very elusive minor from 1909, the ONLY year of issue for Emperor Hsuan Tung and with the central mintmark JI 吉 to denote the KIRIN Province.
  • Nice silver minor and with a choice AU grade and with TrueView included; sharp scales and deep strike as well as cartwheel luster.
  • Usually, the Kirin strikes are generally weak but this is a nice example with full dragons and characters as well as sharp denticles! Most of these come cleaned and stained or even with strong damage, and hence, a premium in the AU grade band.

LOT J: 1910 (Geng Xu Year åŗšęˆŒå¹“) Tihwa Mint - Urumchi DRAGON TEN CASH - Nice VF. As made, nice patina.

  • This is my first lot of the classic and very collectible Sinkiang (Xinjiang) cash coins or what we call as red cash or hong qian. The Sinkiang DRAGON 10 cash is also thicker than the usual 10 cash we see from other provinces, and is a rare QING issues, that were made in 1909 and 1910 ONLY.
  • Popular dragon design and the only TEN CASH series from the Qing era---minted during the reign of Emperor Hsuan Tung. (and not Kuang Hsu)
  • Grading (IMO): The 10 Cash Dragon grades VF, as many were weakly struck and as milled, hence, a piece original and as struck.

LOT K: 1913 10 Cash - Kashgar Mint CROSSED Flags (Nationalist Flags) Hong Qian = Red Cash (Popular Early Type)

  • The second Sinkiang red cash or hong qian for this listing is a milled 1913 10 cash --- nice and original and from ex. Scott Semans and part of a short run and the EARLY issued republican 10 cash hong qian of the Republican Sinkiang area.
  • We note that this piece was made not at the Tihwa Mint, but in the Kashgar Mint. They made silver issues too during the late Qing era.
  • Grades about VF and as struck---nice patina and non cleaned, and shows the rather crude nature of these Sinkiang issues.

[WTS] 1967 Canadian Gold Coin Set

Heya. Up for sale is a 1967 canadian gold coin set. Specs can be found here. My dad bought it new when he was a young man and itā€™s sat in his closet for the ensuing decades. Now itā€™s looking for a new closet to sit in. Comes with the original leather display case and manual. I like how the manual gives oddly specific instructions - like how to properly hand over the opened case to another person. Iā€™m pricing this set at $2,000 Canadian dollars ($1,435usd).
