Courvoisier VS or Hennessey VS?

I'm gonna splurge on a bottle of some nice cognac for my birthday month. Which do you think I should get? They're $69 CAD and $74 CAD respectively at the shop. Cheers!

Presently stuck with a bottle of D'usse. Anyone have personal favourite cocktails? (Nothing obvious like a sidecar)

D'usse is barely even cognac, but there's so much of it and I already dropped $46 on the bottle. I'd like to at least enjoy part of it.

Just turned 21

My liquor of choice is Hennessy but I just can’t justify the price tag unless it’s for an occasion since I am in college. Are there any alternatives that tast around the same or better? I get the feeling like henny is an overrated option I just don’t have much else to compare it to.

A de Fussigny Cognac Grande Champagne

Just started dabbling in cognac and this was my first purchase. I want to try some others and liked the flavor profile of this one. Was wondering if anyone had any recommendations or had tried this one and knew of any similar?

Help identifying vintage for this Bisquit cognac

A friend gifted us this bottle that was her former roommate’s because “I don’t drink dark liquor.” I don’t really know anything about cognac, but having trouble finding any info on this specific bottle online. Can anyone help solve this mystery?

Is older cognac considered inherently higher quality?

I tend to prefer spirits that focus more on the distillate than the barrel influence, and the few older cognacs I’ve tried seem to have lost some of the freshness of the distillate. So, I’m starting to wonder if I would just prefer high quality younger VS or VSOP cognacs, which would save me a lot of money. Has anyone else shared this experience, and what are some high quality younger cognacs that focus more on the distillate character? Do most brands just use a lower quality distillate for their VS and VSOP expressions, or is the only difference the time in barrel?

And yes, I have tried and do love Pisco and blanc Armagnac, but I also appreciate the fresher and drier flavors of cognac distillate.

Found this Seemingly Collectors Cognac Hennessy Extra, may I know more info about this?

Hi everyone. As I was doing Spring cleaning I found a bottle of Cognac Hennessy Extra in a box that seems to be collectors series or something. CAn any experts out there, please share me more information about this bottle? Informations like if it aged, etc, etc and also, I quit drinking many years ago, I thought of selling it, however I am not sure how much should I sell it for and can I auctioned it (especially with the presence of the stickers of Singapore Airlines Duty Free or something)

Thank you so much for sharing your knowledges.

Just finished this bottle and couldn't really find any info about it on Google, anyone here familiar with it?

Kind of tasted like dust, personally not a fan.

Opinion on Martell VS?

Seen a few posts about this cognac and they’ve mostly been speaking down on it? Imo it’s pretty good for the price it’s sold for…

My first cognac experience

After reading through here, I bought a bottle of Pierre Ferrand Ambre, and Kirkland XO. I drank both, but ended up using the Ferrand in eggnog and drinking the Kirkland neat. The Ferrand had a lot of alcohol waffing off with burn even after letting the bottle and pours breathe. The Kirkland is flavorful and i actually pickup what's described! I would definitely repeat buy and recommend the Kirkland, but not the Ferrand Ambre, which I thought would be reversed initially.

What is the best Cognac/Brandy for my first side car

What’s a semi affordable Cognac or brandy that can be used to make cocktails such as the sidecar, every time I search this up I seem to get contradictory responses, I’m thinking of getting the Courvoisier VS.

I heard great things about this one but I’m moving soon so anything sealed is staying that way at the moment.
