I've been messing around with footwork with maces for a while, and brought it over to club work. Using a 15lb Adex club here.
Month ago could only hit 2 reps with this big boy. Staying after it building up to 10 reps consecutive now. Little shaky, and shouldn’t have left my shoes on for it 🤣 but stoked to move this thing regularly already.
Hey guys!
Am new to club training and am about to buy an adjustable club from Maverick - the bamboo one.
Just wanted to know what is an ideal length? Their clubs start at 60cm, the “torque” which is a longer club is 80cm.
Just wanted to get opinions on this from experienced club users.
Thanks guys
Wanting to incorporate some swings to hopefully improve wrist and shoulder mobility/health while improving core and grip strength. What would you guys advise as a first purchase? I’m leaning towards a 15 lb mace but also like the idea of a club or possibly a pair of them. I’m 6’ 230 and pretty strong/athletic. Feedback appreciated.
62lb Club, 44lb mace for curls and 360s, 35lb mace holster raises. Hell of a workout to kick off the morning. Carrying the weights up the stair ladder to the roof was the toughest work 🤣
I'm completely new when it comes to Club/mace training, and I've come across this video called "Nothing builds forearms like club and mace training (here's why)" By Vahva Fitness.
It interested me because I've been looking ways to build my forearms, wrists, and grip. This looks fun, and checks all the boxes. The problem is that I don't know the names of these movements, so i can't search how to do them properly. Does any know some of the names so i can get started?
Hi,
What I'm referring to as "push forward" is the inside/outside circle and the side-to-side swing as taught by Mark Wildman.
I want to get good at clubs, but what's limiting my progression is pain in my wrist that comes from pushing my pinky to my wrist. (Lie your hand and forearm palm down on a surface to see what I'm talking about).
The pain is in the ulnar side of my wrist and it even makes writing painful. Any (p)rehab exercise you can recommend?
Recently I have been consistently working on heavy club shield cast and the result has blown me away. I'm only a few weeks in and my shoulders go from flimsy and borderline broken to robust and solid in a very short time frame. I simply can't believe I haven't tried heavy clubs sooner.
I'm wondering if there are exercises as effective to knees as shield cast to shoulders? As I also have problematic knees.
Thank you, guys!
Started with a 25lb club right at a year ago. Never would have thought I’d be near this point by now!
Hi, a quick question about a technical cue when training with a heavy club - when doing arcing movements (pendulums, shield casts, circles, etc.), should I be aiming to find the "flow" in the movement like you tend to do with a mace?
What I mean by that is that when I swing a mace, I try to time the ball's momentum, so my muscles are fighting the weight only when they have to, not all the time. Kind of like in some kettlebell ballistics, where you have moments of intense exertion and moments where the bell is almost weightless and you can just gently guide it.
Not sure if I am supposed to do the same with a heavy club, though. "Flowing" with a club is much harder since the lever is not as pronounced, but I feel like I am able to get that momentum cycle going if I swing it just right. Is that correct technique though? Should I try to time the momentum as well and not "fight" the club or should my muscles be actively controlling the weight throughout the entire range of motion?
Of course I imagine there are different approaches based on your goals, so I will add here that my goal is mainly shoulder health and endurance, not building max strength with a club.
Thank you in advance for any tips!
Hi! I'd argue (at least from my personal experience) that overall clubbells are a more versatile training equipment than a mace. However, I am curious what people more experienced than me in "swinging implements" think of heavy club's advantages and disadvantages compared to a mace when you want to focus mainly on casts (shoulder cast, shield cast, gamma cast, etc.).
If you just want to do casts to get in on that loaded shoulder opening action (while doing other kinds of strength training with other tools), does it make sense to get a clubbell or should I just go for a mace?
I don't have any persian meels but want to get some so I just started practicing with my steel clubs. I'm aware they're very different but figured I give it a go anyhow. Looking for feedback on chosing an appropriate weight for the meels before I commit, so if you have tried both I'd love to hear your opinion!
Hi guys!
We are a fitness equipment brand. Recently, we launched adjustable clubbells. We would love to invite some influencers to promote our product because it's a little difficult to find an influencer who has experience with clubbells.
So we really hope that we can have the chance to find good influencers on Reddit. If you want to know more about the details of the collaboration, please DM me.
Really hope that we can collaborate with excellent clubbell players!
Do someone have bad company rubber clubbells? And are they any good?
Hi there! I am looking for recommendations of things that I could do spontaneously at work, when I just feel like taking a break, want to loosen up my body and maybe let some energy out. I know I could do some purely bodyweight stuff, but for some reason grabbing a piece of equipment feels more purposeful to me when you want to get some activity in.
Some key aspects that in my opinion would make for a good "work break workout":
#Would love to hear if anyone here does those kinds of workouts and what are your go-tos!
Anybody ever experience heavy soreness couple days after swinging clubs? In particular in the shoulders and chest? I’m wondering if this is normal, or if I’m using too heavy of a club. 26 pound for shield cast, and pull overs.
Anyone selling their clubbells?
I’m making an adjustable bulb and curious what handle length I should make.
What’s the common size handle length on most clubs? 18”?
Thank ya
Big ol wooden clubs are my favorite style of heavy club. 2 count is my favorite swing style with them. So here's some 2 count with big ol wooden clubs from Bodymindfit
Hey guys,
I'm a totally beginner and never swung a club in my life. I wanna try it, but don't spent a ton of money if I don't know if clubbell training is something I like.
So I want to make my own. I saw some Videos, where they were build out if concrete and pipes. This would be my go to. But I'm really lost at the sizing, weight, and so on.
Do you guys have any recommendations, diy builts or any other suggestions that might help getting started?
I live in Germany so it could be that some parts are not available here or I need a substitute.

Just some work from today's session. Building back my single hand club work after focusing on other stuff this summer. It would be great if this humidity just...went away...forever.
