Every now and then when I run a interference check it seems to bug out totally. In this case I´ve set the rules for 5cm and it marks alot of places that are 15-20cm or even more? Is there any pipe network setting that makes this happen or what could be wrong?
I´ve tried -purge and audit.
Se me ha desconfigurado, me sale la barra de herramientas tanto del autocad y del ciivil 3D , asimismo en el engranaje no me sale la opcion de civil 3D.
Hey everyone! I recently started a job as a utility specialist/drafter, and I’m feeling a bit lost with Civil3D. I have a good background in surveying and I’m super motivated to learn, but I don’t have much background in Engineering, yet. Does anyone have any course videos, training resources, youtube tutorials or book recommendations that could help me understand Civil3D better? Any tips or advice would also be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I have picked up a drawing, it has been drawn to international coordinates in millimeters.
Drawing units were "unitless", so I changed to millimeters.
Labels/tables in the drawing are still defaulting to imperial units though. E.g. if I create a table, it wants me to specify text height in feet. I create a label for coordinates, and it gives height in feet and reads the feet equivalent coordinate, despite the label being set up in meters.
Edit, forgot my question 😆 is there a secret hidden thing I'm forgetting to change to metric?
Hello everybody,
I'm working with civil3D for a little while, and for the most time, I'm teachning myself with the programm, but I'm wondering if there any online courses or just paper books I can use/read to get a good understanding of the program, what the philosofie is of the program. So, if you have a good suggestion, please share.. :-)
Hi,
I am pretty new to civil 3d and have encountered a not so complicated issue (for you expert modellers). I need to model a corridor wherein I have a roadway segment where a flat bottom ditch of fixed width 1m and a height of 0.6m from top of slope, between the foreslope and backslope needs to transition its width from 1m to 0m eventually making a V ditch, to maintain the backslope within right of way. Can anyone please advise if this is achievable through building a subassembly in a certain way?
I have tried to use custom assembly for target horizontal, but that would just change the width of flat bottom ditch to V ditch as soon as the backslope targets right of way. But I need the ditch to gradually reduce its width from 1m to 0m.
To start, I’ve been using C3D for a while and I don’t have any questions. However, my boss and I decided that we want to make an entire new template and datasets. I think that watching some setup and tutorial videos as if I’d never been on C3D could remind me of things, give me ideas and just generally refresh.
My question for you is what are your favorite YouTube channels and knowing what I’m doing do you have any tips? Any pro tips in setup that I may not know.
Thanks for any help/feedback.
Having a problem with regapps in my files, they seem to spread like a virus. Thousands of regapps get purged and file size comes down 13mb. But then they come back. Research tells me it's coming from xrefs, or nested xrefs, within xrefs. I need to find the xref they're coming from, but working on this project for a few years so there's hundreds of files.
Any idea how to track this down?
Where do you download contour data for New Jersey?! I’ve been trying all morning. This is very easy in Pennsylvania. I need contours for Ocean County, NJ
I have a survey derived topo with a Surface that needs to be moved horizontally. Any tips on how to move the Surface while preserving all the edits done to the Surface?
How can i ensure the structural integrity of a manhole that have more than 4 in coming pipe? Do we have any specific calculation?
Hi all, I have a dxf file sent from a drone company that took orthos of a long stretch of roadways. These are just showing 3d polylines as a block, how can i go about finding k values (sag/curvature) using just the 3d polyline?
Does anyone have a solution for this? This keeps happening in only this CAD file. In my model space my whole screen or part of my screen turns to this solid cyan color. In paper space some of my view ports will turn solid cyan as well. If I zoom in and out I can sometimes get it to go away momentarily but it comes right back. I have tried to select the color and delete it but it is unable to be selected. Once again this is the only file that this happens in. I have been working in other files and they do not have this problem.
Is there really no way to show the labels in a view other than top 2d?
I have a survey file where we need to show elevations. I can only show the actual point itself flipped to the elevation view, but no way to show the label to flip with it, unless I'm missing something? Tia!
I really need to set some pipes’ slopes on the profiles to specific slopes like 0%, but I can’t seem to find a way to do so. It looks like I’m on a path-based network as opposed to part-based, therefore the “Change Slope” button on the Profile Layout tools ribbon will not work correctly (that’s what hovering over the button says anyway)
Not many resources in my office to turn to since using pressure networks is new to our firm, so anything helps. Thanks!
I am making some ground surface profile views but when I try to put them on an 11 x 17 sheet they won't fit due to how much bigger the horizontal distances are when compared to the vertical distances. My solution to this was to try and have a vertical and horizontal scale but I can't figure out how to make this work. The only scale option I see in profile view styles does not allow me to change the vertical and horizontal scales independently of each other. Does anyone know a way to do this?
Hello friends. I made a surface with point files from 2 surveyings, i first did one survey and made the surface, an then did a complement for the survey and add the point files with the new points to a point group and add this point group to the surface. But when the surface rebuilt, it left a giant gap between the two surveying areas. I tried to mess with the triangles and add manually lines to fill the gap but i cannot, and i keep receveing error messages when i try. What can i do to fill this gap?
I'm trying to come up with a way to show just a portion of an alignment as a different style. Has anyone done this before? Or is it best to just mask part of the alignment and place another alignment in the gap?
Hi users I want to learn storm sewer analysis. Currently I am working on civil 3d lad development modelling work. Want to switch in design field of storm sewer analysis. Any on help me with a guide path Resources courses anyone will teach me ?
Hey guys, I am very new to Civil 3d as my company just got a new license for me to use after using only AutoCAD lite for several months. I am attempting to insert a profile view from an existing drawing my company had but whenever I do I only get small pieces instead of the entire profile. Does anyone know why this might be happening? The contour lines that are in the drawing are not fully connected and I am unsure if this is related to the problem. Any advice is appreciated.
Hello,
i currently have a problem with my gradings. I tried to grade my featureline to my DEM with default settings (except for a 1:1 slope). In the object viewer, there seems to be no problems. All the colours and the grades are displayed correctly.
In the model-view its all red/CUT though and i cant find a way to fix the problem. When converting it into a autocad file, every line is on the "cut"-layer. I checked all the display settings (cut-style for cuts, fill-style for fills etc), but cant seem to find the error.
Can someone help me out? Thank you!
I have an idea, but don’t know how to execute it. Anything’s helps. I have profiles, templates/assemblies, corridors, surfaces in INROADS/Microstation. How can i transfer these objects into Civil3D file?
Can’t find any answer on Google, maybe because it’s so simple but my arc is curving the wrong way. For instance, my arc is curving towards the east but I need it to curve to the west, I’ve tried the ctrl key and this reverses the arc in the N/S direction. I can’t seem create complete polylines because of this. Surely it must be a simple answer, anyone know?
I´ve never used this tool before but I´ve at least imagiened that you can use this tool to help you choose the right dimensions in your pipe network.
Can anyone explain how this works, if you can use it to help you choose dimensions in your network and if not, what is it for?
Hi,
Cant seem to get my super elevation to work. needs to be fixed asap as i have to delivere. anyone down? we can chat on teams / Discord. Also
really is a simple job that goes by fast. road is only 340m with 7 curves.
Road is suppost to be -3 to +3 in the curve then go back to 3- to -3 during when out of curve.
The distanse for normal curve is 20m to end super elevation
I work on linear projects and needing a clever way to take the deflection angle of a polyline/alignment/feature line at every vertex without having to hand calc every one.
End goal would be to take the deflection angles to help estimate bends much easier. I’m open to any solutions or methods civil 3D has to offer, I just haven’t found any myself in 8 years of working yet.
