I’m new to civilization (playing for about a week) I don’t have any dlc, what are some pro tips or things I should know?
Hey yall!
I was reading older comments and it seems in the past civ 6 for iOS went on discount around Black Friday. Any idea when or if it’s consistently around anytime?
The game tells me cultural is the hardest, but I tend to win more often culturally because everyone is friendly (no grievances from holy conversion or fighting), you don't get all the war weariness, can control world congress votes effectively (hard to do in dom), can play a balanced game and buy whatever great works you want, rockbands later, etc. etc.
The only deity game I have won is culture victory (babylon), but what is your experience. What's the hardest victory to attain and why?
On xbox , I have searched all night online and it only mentions online modes ? Just looking to play as long as I can offline to figure the mechanics and take pressure off someone winning early if possible (can you play without victory conditions just last man standing ?) 🤔 any other tips apriciated I'm playing tomyris for the double saka archers 😄
I know that I need CO2 but how much? I saw a CO2 points chart but I think I need it to be further explained. Like at what threshold do they melt?
Can I attack the Ice caps somehow to make it melt also? (With or without nukes) I also have some soothslayers. I know they add 50 C02, but would they add more C02 or temperature change if I used them in the artic caps?
I've been looking around, and the links to all the introductory/essential shit seem to be broken, the videos have become private, and generally I am not able to get started. For example is there a known working link to LeeS's Guide?
so ive knowed and played civ when i was younger specifically Civ v with my uncle. but now that im trying to get back into Civ Vi with some friends. i genuinely just dont understand the game sometimes. i just constantly feel like im behind in genuinely just everything compared to my friends.
so my only question is, whats the best way to start? i usually pick canada if that helps at all, but like how do you guys start? i really do like this game and want to get into and understand it more but i just feel like im genuinely just missing some important stuff when it comes to being a new player. any tips or anything will be greatly appreciated thank you
I'm really loving civ, just trying to figure out the small stuff.
So I just took out a city that had a wonder attached to it that has science tiles, after taking the city my science score didn't increase, why is that?
I'm at war with 2 civs and i've been taking over city after city. This one city I took about 28 turns ago and it says 0 occupied: no growth but it can still produce things just fine.
Any idea how I can get the population to grow? Even if I put all the people on food it still says the same thing.
Thank you
-Cory
So I took over a big city with 17 people in it and it still says its going to take 58 turns to create a science district.
Does this change the longer you have the city? Like is there a build penalty when you first take over a city that goes away after time?
Alas, I fell in love with this game after finding it on sale in the Nintendo E Shop, and am stoked to jump in right as the hype for Civ7 begins.
Problem is (like many have mentioned) late game is nearly unbearable, particularly with more than 6 civs, and/or large maps. Turns take too damn long, and I find myself in sprints of production; where I’m just auto turning out because I’m building across the empire, but then AI takes 10 minutes.
I’d like to swap over to playing on my MacBook Pro (2019, i7 16GB ram) but wondering if I should just shed this MacBook and look forward to a newer model to play civ 7.
Questions…
Will by purchase on the switch carry over to other platforms, or will I have to repurchase CIV6 on whatever computer I end up moving to?
Should I skip out or I even attempting on my current MacBook? I have other needs beyond this game for a high performance Mac. Trying to wait out for M4 mini.
Obviously the mod side of the game I haven’t even touched because I’ve been playing via switch. What are the go-to mods that I need to look into?
Thanks for reading if you’ve made it this far. Just trying to finish more games than the first couple I played on Prince for 12 hours.
I'm so confused. In other civ games I've been able to gather oil but in this game I can't gather oil because in my tech tree there is no refining to be researched. How is that possible that a tech is missing in the tech tree?
I googled this video which shows where the refining tech should be and in my game there is no such tech to be researched.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XOxmAwS_gTc
Any help would be appreciated.
The oil is in the water which I was able to gather in past civ games, i'm playing with vanilla ruleset and there was no issue building a builder and then gathering oil in the water.
I think he's trying to give me a message :)
But i thought the most a city could reach was 5 spaces, but that's six, right?
I was playing nice and peacefully until someone wanted to war with me.
I had no units but I did levy miltary troops from 2 city states to defend and take over one of the enemy cities. I upgraded these units to musket men.
After taking over the city they all disappeared.
This makes me assume when you levy from a city state you don't get to keep those troops do you?
So when I'm expanding and taking over other civs cities I just have been taking the cities but what I've found out is the cities don't seem to have many districts, just small clustered cities.
Is it better to raze a bunch of smaller cities so you can build them up with your own city?
So i've been playing civ 6 for years now and I've only won in domination victories.
I always have a ton of money but that's it.
I create a lot of cities, i place down the districts that give the most yields but I never win, not even on settler difficulty.
What video do I need to watch to understand where I should be placing my districts so I can actually win in a science victory? Cultural victories I hear are much harder to win.
From Birmingham to the sea on the right? Using either the tiles in the middle for the wonder?
All the tiles in between are grasslands?
Montezuma Religious sacrifices.
Gameplay strategy ...
Destroy a barbarian post to get Vampires.
Unlock one of the pantheons to do with barb outposts or similar.
Find another barb post and have your vampire hang out there till 10 barbarians have been killed then destroy it.
*Important the vampire cannot kill a barb themselves that would be beneath them."
While your vamp is hanging out being all cool and vampire like - train and hire as many scouts as possible.
Scouts will head at the barbs like moths to a flame. Each knowing they have died the greater good of their people by increasing your vampires strength by 1. Some truly devoted sacrifices might even gain plus 2 or 3 for their efforts depending on the damage they can inflict on their way to the flames. Thinking about it this would also work as a Valhalla type thing for Norway.
Now your vampire should be ready to take on their first city.
Make yourself Suzerain of someone. Ideally they'd be following your religion too.
Levy their military and surround your vampire with potential sacrifices from your empire. Walk your vampire into the middle of enemy territory and start fucking things up. Ideally you'd pick a war with a couple of players at once just to add to the melee. And thinking about it why not start a war with one civ, trade with another to join the war with you, then if possible declare war on them as well.
And rinse repeat till you have won an easy domination victory.
A city in the ocean 1 land tile with a great lighthouse
Scotland real world modified. Also they get a culture based national wonder on a crappy all sea island with two spaces with science and faith. Which screws me over for a dock. They get two cities and a pantheon and I get no religion or pantheon. My faith start was crap. Also on these world with a ton of regular civs no goody huts or very few and 0 minor civs. I maxed out civs. This mega civ Real world will probably get me a score victory
