I'm trying to resume my current game on the SteamDeck but I can't load it due to missing content. All the content packs you got from having a 2K account are missing, and strangely the text description of them seems to be in German, rather than English.
I saved the game on my PC to the "Multiplatform Cloud" save area but when I access this on the SteamDeck I see that the some content packs like the Julius Caeser pack are missing and the load button is disabled.
Another weird thing is that after trying to load it on the SteamDeck when I go back to the PC it says it can't connect to the 2K servers so I have to just use Resume Game, close it down then reload and now I can load my cloud saves again.
Seems like a complete mess.
If I have a missile cruiser right beside a submarine or a carrier and if the submarine/carrier gets attacked by a jet fighter or jet bomber, will the missile cruiser help protect against it?

Met some strangers in an online match today. Asked one of the randoms a question and was responding to their "Meow" when they then answered it. Then got this response and nearly dropped my son off my lap! LOL!
Turn 3 and Saladin has a city, a settler and 2 warriors. Even if he unalived a city-state right off the bat, he only gets the settler but not the warrior. Someone experienced this before?
3 turns ago I built an aircraft carrier, now I want to build another unit to protect it, and all naval units just disappeared from my production list?
So I make trade deals, open borders deals with other civs that last 30 turns. Is there a screen or a mod that allows me to check the statusof my deals with all other Civs on a single screen? I know you can look it up on the civs leader info screen but this is extremely time consuming - I want to be able to see them "at a glance" on a single screen/table.
When I scroll over it with units, it just shoots the cursor back to the unit. It won’t let me attack them.
I'm sick of this game, I played it once and fine then the next day I launch it and it'll take a minute before a loading please wait appears for maybe a second and then crashes instantly and there's a 50 % chance I get to the home screen before oopsie daisy time to crash again upon trying to join my friends game
this stuff is annoying. I mean a flood plain city on nile with a pop of 1. All kinds of cities get flooded cuz the ai make crap production. Even some capitals have crap prod or the over wonder district a city. No a wonder or district on every city tile is a bad idea. I want a mod that ditches the ai cheating and make the ai work the tiles and fix all this bs on the title. make the ai use builders to get their prod
After struggling with constant Civ VI crashes on my M1 pro, I found a really helpful solution in the Steam discussions that fixed it for me. Wanted to share this in case others are having the same problem.
Note: I don't use any mods.
Like many Mac users I was experiencing frequent crashes every 10-15 minutes. The crash reports showed threading-related errors (__cxa_pure_virtual
). The Steam community figured out it's related to how the game handles multiple processing threads. Looks like something has changed in recent MacOS versions, because I didn't get these crashes before.
Based on Kevin the Red's detailed analysis, there are two approaches:
AppOptions.txt
file in ~/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/Firaxis Games/Sid Meier's Civilization VI/
3.Start a new game (important - using old saves might cause issues)
The values above worked well for my M1 Pro, which has 8 performance cores and 2 efficiency cores. Here's how to adjust them for your system:
MaxJobThreads
and MaxGameCoreThreads
: Set these to about 60% of your performance cores. For example:
MaxGameCoreUnitMovementThreads
and MaxGameCoreTradeRouteThreads
: These handle unit movements and trade routes. Keep them lower than your MaxGameCoreThreads
value to prevent late-game crashes when many units are active.
GameCoreReserveThreads
: This seems to control minimum threads the game keeps open. The community generally recommends keeping it at 2 for stability.
For older or less powerful Macs, you might want to use lower values. If you're still experiencing crashes, try the Conservative Approach below.
If you're still having crashes, try the original suggestion of setting everything to 1
Note: This might increase loading times but provides maximum stability.
Credit to Kevin the Red for the detailed technical analysis that made this fix possible!
for the first one oligarchy or republic depending how war things are. for the second one monarchy and maybe theocracy if I can get faith going.for the third I used to go commy but fascism and its cards are really nice. democracy sucks to high heaven being we want that 50% reduce upgrade cost and the almighty levee en masse. having a bonus to minor civ trade routes is minor. the forth one is a toss up because it has a penalty. I guess digital demcocracy I don't like the - combat bonus but you you can make up for with a card
Hello here is how I like the game big maps (got the yetanotherblabla mod), few civs (4-6), and only domination as a victory conditions with no turn limits.
I also installed two mods to make the AI think more about army, AI+ and AI late game
I also bought the DLC's to have more aggressive civ at my disposal,
Now do we agree that the difficulty doesn't influence army behaviour right ?
What should I add as mods or game rule to have a true domination game because in Civ 5 it worked flawlessly whereas in civ 6 the AI is too chill
So in my current game (terra map) after a "spicy" ancient /classical era now (modern era just ended) everybody is basically chilling and vibing with each other (weird) and I got the report "Tokimune is aiming for a domination victory" but in the civ screen he's got an absolute zero military strength... Is this a bug (dunno if on the side of the Japanese AI thinking that could achieve a domination victory without an army or somehow the army strength not showing on) or it happens regularly that an AI is aiming for a completely unlikely victory condition? Never really paid attention to all those reports / gossip and AI behavior
We just interrupted the weirdest game since the AI were so far behind it wasn't even fun. Before you think this is a brag, we only play on diety because that's a good challenge for us when we go as a team.
Ok so settings (cause it has to matter?):
2 players (team 1) difficulty diety
and 8 AI (team 2-5) difficulty warlord (cause that supposedly makes it just a tiny bit harder for us, the players, than prince)
Map size: standard so 2 more civs than usual to spice things up (or so we thought)
Turn speed: epic
Modes: barbarian clans, industry, secret societies
We started together on a detached continent and immediately had to fight off horde after horde of barbarians. It was a non stop onslaught but we prevailed. To date by far the craziest barbarian intensity I've ever experienced.
Once we finally got to settle the whole continent we turned our eyes outward to bring down Germany and Gaul but Germany only had 1 city. Once they were no more Gaul were next but with three cities and virtually no armies. Both of these were completely swamped with barbarians, which we used in our favor to bring them down in unusually few turns.
By medieval era we ended things cause AIs had about half our scores and were not in the lead for any great persons. My guess is that barbarians gave them the same hell the gave us but the AI couldn't withstand it.
Was this because of the two extra AIs on standard map? Or Barbarian clan mode in synergy with epic speed?
Please let me know if you have any insights.
Oh, also weird stuff:
About half of the citystates didn't have walls by medieval era. Also, my religion was the ONLY one. Not a single point towards great prophet for anyone else... Lastly, every time a barb camp was destroyed, a new one popped up the second I clicked on "destroy". Twas weird I tell you.
I'd appreciate any light on this
Why do units do stupid stuff like wander off to sea randomly. Settlers run straight into enemy. Also if near sea go to sea and do an amphi assault. Embark mode really screws things up. I load over when this happen. It was better with transporta
Can't find the option for one city challenge anywhere. If anything, tiny smartphone screens is the best platform for one city challenge.
I must be blind, but I can't figure it out. I got the notification saying I could make them, but I can't find instruction on how to do it. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.
I hate it. I give up. no resources, no happy, no money. Somehow the rivals get way ahead in tech. Can build the units I want. It really crashes in the modern age. Surronded on all sides lots of crap terrain. rivals build cities like mad . happy and money get worse
over the past year I’ve written a mouse macro that I use to drain an AI’s gold. I’ve been using it on prince with good results. Last couple days I’ve used it on king and emperor. Today I tried it on deity/ tsl Europe/ me as Joao vs France, Gaul and Alexander. Dramatic ages. Catherine was at war with Gaul. I attacked Gaul lost a few units. Gaul asked for peace. I accepted. I started running the macro and drained Gaul and Alexander. No problem. Ran it on France and she denounced me and wouldn’t trade with me anymore. Now when I run it on Gaul and Alex they let me drain their gold, then they come right back wanting to sell me all their horses and iron that they wouldn’t trade when I asked them to, for half of the gold I stole off them plus the other half over so many turns. I right clicked to convert all gold to one time deal. They accept. Then I run the macro immediately and drain that gold back from them back to my coffers. I thought deity AIs were supposed to be so much smarter, and not the old artificial retardation as AI was originally known as.
