Subreddit for City: Anime & Manga, by the creator for Nichijou, Keiichi Arawi, and the adaptation by Kyoto Animation!
/r/City
We're all aware that Nichijou managed to not being very successful for KyoAni despite the shit ton of fans that praizes the show to no end, and I don't know for sure how popular is the manga of CITY in Japan. We can't know until the anime comes out next year. Do any of you guys have high hopes for it?
How do I look any needs for improvement ? Anybody ???????
Since this anime will tap into a lot of grown-up issues rather than classic anime troupes that appeals the traditional shounen and seinen age group, i expect CITY to target a more niche audience. Perhaps a much older and/or a much younger age group would show interested to this series?
I know this isn't really possible, mainly because the Nichijou anime is divided into short chapters that allow add these funny segments. However, I feel like there is still unadapted content from Helvetica that could be used in the City anime.
Thoughts on Hyadain returning?
Seriously, how did you guys do it??
for those who didn't read the manga yet, y'all are not ready for Wako
(wait, if you're here, then u may have been read it, so nvm.)
Since there are only 3 seiyuu confirmed for the release of City, I'm going to base my choices off of only them. If you are going to comment that you're subs-only, or that you hate dubs or something to that effect, I'll be blocking you. This is simply a fancast, nothing more.
If you would like to add onto it by adding other characters to the mix, comment down below.
Without further ado, here are my choices.
Midori Nagumo: Allegra Clark
Both Mikako and Allegra share a voice in Spider-Gwen, and I find that it is mature enough for someone like Nagumo, since she's a college student. Allegra also voices Maki Zenin in Jujutsu Kaisen as well.
Ayumu Niikura: Brittany Karbowski
Brittany's voice, I find, fits Niikura best. Brittany plays characters that are quite hot-headed, such as Mikoto Mikasa, which I think would work well when you see Niikura throw fits.
Wako Izumi: Alexis Tipton
Alexis's cadence and tone is what I think of when I see Izumi. While others may match her seiyuu a little more closely, I feel like Alexis does a great enough job as the airhead we all know and love.
