This film is called "天と地と", or "Heaven and Earth", and is my favorite of all time. In this scene, the main character and historical Sengoku period Warlord Uesugi Kenshin faces off against his rogue retainer, Usami Sadamitsu in a duel of great respect and honor in what I believe is an incredible depiction of samurai ideology.
