Spiny Lobster specials down south?

Where are the restaurants with Spiny Lobster specials now that it is in season? I want to support some local Chula Vista restaurants and not hit the typical point loma/downtown spots. Thanks!

Wreckless driving while armed in Sunbow

For the past few weeks, every couple of nights there is a modded v8 flooring it around the sunbow neighborhood. I heard gunshots coming from this car over the weekend. Last night he went through the actual residential streets revving up the enging trying to get the car alarms to go off. Cooper rd specifically by veterans park. Imbecile couldnt get any car alarm to go off and i could hear him try all the way out to the main road on e. Palomar and paseo ladera. He made it personal the moment he woke up my baby. I called non emergency and they said they cant do anything. Im offering a cash reward for anyone with info that leads to this degenerate troglodite getting off our streets.

Are there any programs giving rides to go vote?

I remember Lyft doing free rides to go vote, last election. Anyone know if anyone is doing anything like that, this election, as well?

Carl's Jr. on 3rd & Moss

Does that place actually get any customers lately? Every time I pass by it, it's always empty, not even people in the drive thru line

Maybe it's cuz I've only ever seen it no earlier than 11am or something but yea I remember that location used to have more engagement

Help me remember: does anyone recall the man that used to run around Chula Vista?

Back in the '90s and maybe into the early 2000s I remember there was a man that was usually in shorts, very tan, with a beard, that would just run around, in a slow jog all over Chula Vista. Does this ring a bell for anyone? I suddenly had this memory pop into my head, and realized it's a mystery to me. Any help would be appreciated!

San Diego, CA - In-Person Research study on the topic of what people care about in 2024

Hi Chula Vista!

I am currently working on a project for a client who is looking for San Diego County Residents ages 22-34 to participate in a fun and unique research study. We are looking to learn about what you and people your age care about in 2024.

STUDY DETAILS:
*YOU MUST BE WILLING AND ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN BOTH PARTS OF THIS STUDY TO BE COMPENSATED.

Pre-Task  (Incentive $50): Virtual homework assignment

> Approx three selfie-style videos answering questions about yourself, your family, your social life, your hobbies, food/drink preferences etc.

Main Research: (Incentive up to $300) In Person Ethnography

DATES: Scheduling the week of November, 11th

> Approximately 3 hours per ethnography

> Conversation for the first half: Each respondent will meet the moderator at home OR at a favorite local spot, restaurant, etc. in a neighborhood that’s representative of your culture - in-home meeting is not required but is preferred, but respondents can select their home if they wish.  Those selecting an OOH location will be asked to pick a spot that is appropriately private and viable for discussing sensitive issues.

> Activity for the second half: regardless of where they select for above, about halfway through the ethnographic we’ll then do a walking neighborhood tour of the area where they live or a nearby area/neighborhood they think is representative of their culture.

The in-person interviews will be moderated and video recorded. 1-2 researchers and a few people from the client team will be in attendance. The total time required for this will be approximately 3 hours.

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please apply via this link and someone from our team will call you if you are a match for this study:https://forms.gle/DunuUEPP6JKTfx2t8

Friend Needs a Community Mental Health Center (Chula Vista)

Hi everyone, I have a dear friend who is in his mid 30's and renting a house in Chula Vista. He's been struggling with his mental health and finances for a few years, and has become increasingly reclusive and depressed. I don't live there, but after checking in with him this week I'm really concerned about his condition... he's losing weight and hair. He's not doing well and I'm incredibly worried about him. It's been over 5 years of struggle, but this is the worst I've ever seen him.

Does anyone know of a local community health center, or mental health center that could help us? Even a church or somewhere he could go for support? Structure, community, food stamps, someone to see regularly...any of those things would be a huge help until we can physically get down there to be with him. He's one of the kindest people I've ever known, hard working and as non-violent as a person can be. No known drug issues, just has no one and is in a bad place.

Thanks so much.

H St in need of beautification project

Entering west side Chula from the east, that stretch between the 805 and Hilltop. Really could use some beautification. Everyday I drive through and just sigh at the misery of it. Or is it just me?

Orange Ave partially shut down, anyone know what's going on?

By the drive through Starbucks. That whole area has police and taped off. No idea what's going on, just got re-routed.

Does Wyyerd do a good job getting internet cable from the street into the home? Experiences?

It’s time for a new internet provider. I called Wyyerd and they need to bury a cable from the street into my home.

For anyone who has had this done, how was your experience? Was it clean and professional, or was it a mess like my DirectTV install?

Any feedback appreciated. Thanks!
