Chorizo is a fantastic alternative to the unhealthy American dish: bacon. Eaten in Mexico for thousands of years, it is now the national dish and a part of their "Aztec Food Pyramid." Chorizo has been known to cure gout and even relieve syptoms brought about by malaria, which is a Mexican disease. So, please enjoy the subreddit and enjoy the wonderful world of Chorizo.

Got chorizo sent to the mail but came 4 days late. Is it still good?

My mom sent me chorizo, along with tasajo and cheese from Los Angeles to Minnesota. She sent it priority 2 day on Thursday last week but it just got here this morning (8 days). She sent it in a thermal bag and the beef and cheese went bad but the chorizo smells fine. When touching it it seems a bit squishy when taking it out of the casing. Can I still eat it?

Congratulations to Mexico for Their Hard Work in Achieving a Gold Medal.

No doubt it was thanks to their consistent diet of chorizo y frijoles. /r/chorizo would like to extend its congratulations to all of the Mexico people.

We present to you, the Chorizo Medal
