i've got an idea to start streaming but i'm moving to china in august, how likely will it be that i can do this or should i put this idea on the back burner for the time being?
i know at the very least, it will only be possible with a vpn but the one i was looking at (Express) hasnt been very reliable recently and i'm not sure how likely it is a private vpn will be able to handle the load of streaming and online games.
i follow a few chinese streamers on twitch but my chinese isnt anywhere good enough for me to ask how they've done it so any help would be greatly appreciated!!
hi! as a follow-up to my last post: i got my mobile carrier (based in my home country) to provide international roaming data while im in china.
should i still use a vpn? (for security / accessing past the firewall)
also, i got alipay and whatsapp set up - are there any other commonly used apps i should download / be aware of?
thank you.
Dear all. I'm a marketing student in her final year. I am doing a study on emotional responses to content, specifically for international students who have lived or used to live in China. I will be very grateful to those who could complete this questionnaire for me! It will take about 10 minutes.

Hello I'm currently doing my Master's degree thesis titled Mirrored identities: An exploration of linguistic and cultural experiences among British students in China and Chinese students in Britain.
I'm looking for several British students doing their degrees in China - It's quite an interesting study.
It includes:

I have a working holiday visa active in Hong Kong and I am looking to study in shenzhen I would like to work while studying . Do you know if it would violate a student visa if I crossed the border to work in Hong Kong on weekends
Being in China, should I buy a tv in China with Apple TV or physical Apple TV for watching shows through the VPN ?
I have a few.. namely Liushen (six god) for the summer/bugs/whatever. Just curious if anyone else had any?
If I buy a Samsung phone here, it doesn't come with the Google Play store. How can I buy a new phone while in China to easily access US/Western apps and games?
On the Taobao website you can select a pick-up point to collect your stuff instead of having it delivered to your address. But I can't find this option on the Android app or Alipay mini-app.
Am I missing something?
Hii, I've been seeing a lot of confusing posts about possibilities to teach English as a non native in China. Some people mention the new law that strictly states that only natives from Big 7 countries can teach, and yet in my country a relevant (non-scamy) agency is still offering teaching positions in China. I come from an Eastern European country, I've have a c2 ToEFL degree, I'm in the process of getting a TEFL and I have a masters degree from an American university. Feels awkward to mention but I'm also an extremely pale redhead since apparently looks also pay a big role. Is there any chance of finding a teaching job with this background? I was aiming for cities in southern China. ✨
Hey guys, I'm just looking for more job groups and recruiters, I think I've exhausted my main sources i.e. Dave's ESL cafe, eChina cities, Serious Teachers, Teachaway, Laowai career, etc
I’m Australian Chinese looking to move to China with my Chinese partner later this year. I’m looking for any advice of teaching English in China as an ABC in Taiyuan. We are going to Taiyuan because her family lives there but if things work out we might be moving to Nanjing or Hangzhou in the next few years.
I have read a lot of difficulties in finding a job particularly with only a TEFL Certificate & a Bachelor’s Degree. But I just want some advice from other people whom have experienced this.
I’ve been to China twice on holiday last year & this year and wouldn’t mind the living environment in China.
Hi
Does anyone have any experience working at HD Beijing school?
I have an interview coming up and want to find out if it's worth my time.
Thanks
My e-bike is very dear to me and I would like to take it with me when I move. I would like to know if any of you have ever done the same and which company you used, etc etc.
My bike looks like a KTM. Or something like that. But is electric.
I am referring to the most relevant advantages that you found for which you live or could stay to live in China.

Hello I was just wondering if someone could help me . I just got accepted in a university in China. I think I will struggle to pay all 4 years tuition I have enough to cover two years . Does anyone know if I keep high grades if I can apply for a scholarship for my second year. Thank you
I take daily sertraline here and occasional tamsulosin. I'm wondering roughly how much I'd be paying for those in China? Would these be covered by health insurance?
Are there still plenty of jobs coming up for English teachers at universities in China? Or are they hard to find nowadays? I am aware the conditions may be less attractive than for other English teaching jobs, what I'm concerned about is availability. Thanks!
I’m wondering what the word on the street is about a place I got an offer at, there aren’t many reviews online, although the WeChat is popular.
Hi there!
Seeking some urgent help on if anyone has been on the 144 hour transit visa free scheme and had to push their flight back?
We were due to leave tomorrow but need to delay one day, we will still be well within the 144 hours but wondering what this means for our prior declaration?
Thank you!!
I have been teaching Chinese people English online for about 4 years now (started in the USA and now living in France). I began with Chinese agencies from Taobao, then slowly took the students as my own, eventually cutting ties with any Chinese agencies/schools and the rest has been from word of mouth ever since. I have wanted to scale this and find students from other countries too so I declared myself as an auto-entrepreneur with my business in France. I know China has rules on teaching privately (double reduction policy), but it seems that this applies to chinese based for-profit institutions. I am not exactly an institution and always taught outside of china, so I'm wondering if I am or not subject to the regulations of China's education policies, as these policies primarily target institutions and activities within China's borders like the one's I worked with before the double reduction laws.
I want to know more about this since I'm supposed to visit China this summer for 14 days (visa free) and won't be teaching, but will meet some students to do some interviews for my English channels on social media. I'm hoping to gain more traction from other countries and eventually replace the chinese students or something because it always feels sketchy! I'd like to move to China eventually if I enjoy my trip this summer and next summer, but I'm not sure if that would mean giving up my business as if I were to work in China and teach Chinese students, it'd probably be breaking the policy.

Hello,
I entered Shanghai last week and realized that my 10 year tourist visa expires soon while I'm still in China and before I leave. I already booked a domestic flight from Shanghai to Zhangjiajie after the visa expiry date. Furthermore I'm going to Beijing after and need to book a high speed train from Beijing to Shanghai so that I can catch my international flight back home.
Will it be an issue to travel domestically with my expired visa on the flight or train? Technically they let me in because it said to enter before the visa expired, which I did.
Hi All-
Is there an easy way to get an apostille of my chinese birth book?
The public notary I went to will not translate my birth book unless I provide proof of who I am, so me, and my parents. But we all immigrated to the US and changed our names 30 years ago so we'd have to prove the name change too. It seems like an impossible task? Is there no way to simply translate the birth book to french, and get an apostille??
Desperately trying to resolve this for the last year!
Hi all,
In Fuzhou for a couple of days. Where can I get a custom suit and a nice watch (around 500 USD)? Any comments on where you've had luck at would be appreciated!
TIA.
My US passport does not have a visa therefore I have a travel document.
Hi all
Has anybody here ever worked at BNTA?
I have an interview with them next week and I'm wondering if it's a good place to work.
Thanks all
