Learning chess online can be difficult due to the lack of dialogue. Over the board, the stronger player will often give the weaker player advice. This just doesn't happen in online chess.
This is a place for chess players to request or offer instructional games. Are you rated 1,000 and hoping to get a few pointers from someone rated 1400+? Ask and ye shall receive! Rated 1000/ want to give back to the community? I'm sure an 800 will gladly accept a lesson.

Hello. You have this app on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tangierdreams.chess.notation.trainer
it helps beginners chess players to learn the algebraic chess notation which is fundamental to start learning chess in the right way. It's free. I hope you find it useful. Luis.
I am rated around 1150 rapid on chess.com and am looking for help to further improve, any help would be greatly appreciated
Learned how to play in the early 1960's; learned about tournament play 1965 when military stationed me in Alaska without my family for 3 years. --However, I got reunited with my family on my own after coming in Second Place in the Alaskan Air Force Command Chess Championship of 1966. In the early 1970's, I finished Third Place in the Headquarters Strategic Air Command Chess Championship in Nebraska. After brain surgery, heart surgery, and frequent blackouts, I stopped competing in Tournaments in the late 1980's. Now I play just for fun; and to keep my mind active...
Hi all. I'm a coach from Ireland. I was looking for a platform to put all my info up for students and also take bookings etc. I've talked to a bunch of other coaches and there doesn't seem to be a platform which consolidates all the problems the come with the job (taking payments, scheduling, increasing your discoverability online).
I'm curious regarding what other people are using? I am building out a platform that I will use myself and if you're interested in trying it out, let me know!
Hi everyone, I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I'd like to try and get more players for a Chess club in Plymouth NH at the Pease public library every Tuesday 6pm.
Any help reaching out to other communities that might be interested would be really appreciated. Thanks
Look at the chess board that we have in the ceiling of our chess club.
Well it is just a joke, but many times we were thinking on painting chess men over there. We do also have some other paintings and posters. Our chess club is in Madrid and we also have club in lichess. By the way, I do also agree with those who say that many cheaters are over there.
Just started a new club and am hoping to attract players from the Burgessville, Norwich and Woodstock area in Ontario Canada. Our website (under construction) is beaconsfieldotb.ca .
Hello everyone! How are you all doing? I hope you're all having a good day.
My name is Coach Jeonrick. A full-time professional Chess coach with an ELO Rating of 2,100+ and a Puzzle Rating of 2,600+ with experience teaching children, beginners, and intermediate players alike.
My coaching strategy and philosophy is heavily based on the Art of Puzzle-solving. I believe that Chess Puzzle-solving is comparable to a punching bag in Boxing. In order for boxers to strengthen their punches, attacks, and fists, and in order to hone their speed, instincts, and fierceness, and in order to learn more about Boxing concepts like footwork and proper form, they repeatedly practice on a punching bag.
It is my observation and philosophy that the same is in Puzzle-solving in Chess. In order for us Chess players to strengthen the quality of our every attack and of our every move, and in order to practice our speed, intuition, and daringness, and in order to learn more about Chess concepts, principles, and themes like tactical motifs, crushing, deflections, intermezzos, zugzwangs, mate-in-ones/twos/threes, pins, skewers, forks, endgames, and so on, we must repeatedly seek to solve extremely difficult Chess puzzles with everything that we've got, even if it takes us tens of minutes, hours, or even days.
So that just as a boxer will be ready and confident in an actual fight because of all his training, we too will be well-prepared, strong, and fast in an actual Chess match because of all the difficult Chess puzzles we solve.
I will teach you and help you with puzzles for two hours straight. Every puzzle has a theme. Every puzzle has a moral lesson. I will diligently explain to you in detail the theme and lesson of every puzzle that you may understand and master it, and be able to use it next time in your own games. As your puzzles get harder and harder, so will the strength of your moves or your "punch" be.
We may also use some of the time to analyze your games, study about a particular concept like Opening->Middlegame->Endgame, general questions about Chess principles, Game Advice, and so on. However, my main recommendation is still Puzzle-solving, as in my coaching experience, it is the most efficient and effective teaching method.
Afterward, I will play 10 fun matches of a Puzzle Racer with you, with each puzzle racer at 1:30 minute, or 1 Classical match with a 60+10 time format, or 2 Rapid games, or 5 Blitz games depending on your choosing. This is so that you may put to test all you've learned. In my experience, the Puzzle Racer is the truly entertaining and refreshing part! It gives you a break from the two hours of pure studying while also enhancing your skills.
Finally, I will send you an Open Document of all the lessons I have taught you within that two hour time, within 2 days. This is so that you may be able to review our lessons at your leisure, and without worry of having to write down our lessons while studying. I will also give you a Chess homework of one difficult puzzle appropriate for your rating, which may take you some time to solve, this is okay, as this is the truly engaging way to solve a puzzle and learn from it. I will also include Classical Chess Advice, Puzzle-solving Advice, and Time Management Advice. A single Open Document ranges from 13mb to 101mb in size.
You may also book a future session with me and schedule it to a mutually-convenient time. If I do not respond immediately, it may be a difference in time zones and I will respond as soon as I can.
Happy Chess Playing everyone!

I am on a team of small indie chess mobile studio. I wanted to know what would be the ideal way to reach out to chess clubs and associations besides email and LinkedIn. The team itself is based out of South Asia. Our game is called Chess Star.
I started a chess club last year in school and it was fun to a degree but completely draining. Only a certain amount of people were loyal to it and normally i would really push my self as a president and founder to always show up with boards almost every single day and gather people and teach them etc it was honestly a very difficult process but it turns out really good on some other days but mainly the people weren't that interested or so eager to play, it had to always like be a very difficult process to gather them and then play in only 20 mins (the allowed time for my chess club). Moving forward to next year (this year) everything changed considering my personal life and i found that my soul is empty lol now i dont have the energy to do anything at all my interest in chess is still very much alive but i dont want to carry the responsibility anymore and in the same time no one in the whole school will be able to manage the way i do since there is low interest and i feel like i want to continue playing but now i dont even have competition in school but i really miss seeing people play and the rush of adrenaline in blitz or bullet. I wanna start again but i fear that if i start no one would come and i would have to push myself again to do so much work and drain myself like before and i am not ready for anything like that anymore and i am tired of advertising and begging i know rome wasnt built in a day but i have came so far last year but i feel like 1 or 3 people only asked this year (from the club) about it or even cared so i dont know i wanna hear your opinions any advice on how should i do my come back (i have been off for a month and a half) and if its even worth it? (Also im sorry i know this is not directly related to chess but i didnt know where else should i ask this)
I played a league game today OTB and lost. Do I have grounds for the game to be void if my opponent was not registered with the ECF (English chess federation) on the day it was played?
Novice level player here. I am interested in starting a chess club in my local community that doesn’t really have any representation. Any advice you could offer?

I’m rated around 900-1000 rapid on chess.com and been plateauing here for a little while. I’d really like to push to 1200 and beyond, wondering if there’s anybody able to help?
Hi, I have been working on my chess daily for a few months now, and am currently stuck at around 2240 on Blitz (3min + 2s) on Lichess. There are sadly no clubs with good players around me, so I am looking for a training buddy to play training games with (Blitz, Rapid, Classical) and chat about chess related things etc.
I think it would be great to have someone to train and improve with to make everything a bit more fun.
Feel free to reach out to me, if you are interested!
FYI: I am normally playing on Lichess but wouldn't mind opening an account on chess.com to play.
title. thanks to anyone in advance!
It’s just crazy. There are so many cheaters even at bullet. I play at 2000 level at bullet and blitz and I find engine players everywhere.
I estimate that chess.com catches around 20% of them. There are some others they are smarter than their engine and can easily escape.
They don’t play first moves (or even program something to do it) and make occasional mistakes when they’re winning.
The number has really increased in the past months and it’s just not fun anymore playing…
You guys help me I don't know what to do
