Is this a stalemate?

It's black's turn to move but he has no possible option. I am white, what should I have done?

Why am I getting a brilliant on this move? Ain't I still down material?

I blundered and allowed enemy bishop to fork my knight and rook, and eventually decided to trade rook for a bishop which seemed like the only realistic option. But why i do get a brilliant for this?

At what elo you memorize table notation

Hello, my first post here As the title says, at what elo you look at field and say, thats h5

I understand that everyone can learn anytime, but when it's becoming important to know it

Why does the engine prefer c4 over e4 here?

In the KIA both c4 and e4 are accepted as ways of striking at black's center. My idea behind e4 is that while I pin my knight, after dxe4 dxe4 Qf6 (Qe1 Bxf3 Nxf3) I have opened up my dark-squared bishop, my bishop is also getting ready to open up and attack the queenside while black is slightly back in development. In the game my opponent played d4 instead locking down the center (Ignore Nc4 it was a blitz game and I wasn't thinking much).

Black is so clever, yes? How should white respond?

Black is about to knock off white's rook with Rxh8. How should white respond?

Kings Indian Black - How to utilize Black Bishop?

Hello, I'm having trouble utilizing the black bishop in the Kings Indian opening because my pieces are usually suffocating it. I find myself down sometimes during the endgame because I'm unable to find a use for it. If y'all would like to help, please send videos of people finding a use for the black bishop in the opening or share variations of the opening that make use of the power diagonal... It would be greatly appreciated.

Danya vs. the Accelerated Dragon?

I've really been enjoying Danya's speedrun videos, where he frequently plays the accelerated dragon as black. But, this has me curious, is there a video in which Danya plays AGAINST the accelerated dragon? I haven't been able to find one, but if anyone could help me out, it'd be appreciated!

I’m sorely confused. Why wouldn’t the best move here be to take the free Rook?

Is this Actually a Blunder??

I thought this was interesting on my post game analysis. I ended up finding out that one of the moves I thought put my opponent in a tough spot was a blunder. What is also interesting to me is that I was up +1.5 before the blunder and down -.7 after. Luckily my opponent did not follow up properly and because of their follow up I wasn't just better, but mating. I actually do not recall so far in my short lived chess "career" losing a pawn being considered anything more than a mistake, unless it was an obvious end game situation where I blundered a potential promotion or something. As I am nearing 1300 Elo will I continue to see more subtle errors as blunders instead of mistakes or is this just a situation of a 2.2 point swing being massive when it takes your from Better to slightly worse. Where as if I were up 9 points and went down to 6.8 it might be seen as a mistake or inaccuracy. Just curious what you all experience at your own respective elos. Linking game below.

How is this a checkmate?

I am playing black here. Now white was moving their pawn got themselves another queen which was great. But I have got two castles here??? Sure I could have taken the new Queen with one castle then the other queen takes me so another castle and after that idk my king? But like what am I missing here I am so confused.

Played this move purely by instinct

I was playing blitz 3+0 and I was I'm a very boring position up until I pinned the knight with my bishop, got kicked away then after the second pawn push with g4, I just looked at how naked blacks king was, I noticed my queen can also slide in and threaten some stuff and also thought I could just push my pawns down the board too, so I just was like fck it and I sacked my knight. I was very pleased to see that when I reviewed the game I played 6/7 consecutive top engine moves after sacrificing my knight. I ended up winning this game btw
