Folks, looking for brands, western and Japanese, that have a rounded spine, similar to Majime on YouTube for example.

Takayuki AUS10 Yanagi or Yaxell SG2 Slicer? SG2 is better steel, but Takayuki is not mass produced.

Help! Christmas for boyfriend. Would like a nice set that doesn't break the bank (under 200) or wouldn't mind really nice singular.

Product recommendations based on the following criteria: - blade type: gyuto - length: 210-240mm (which is best?) - material type: sg2/r2 or ginsan - handle: wa (med-large hand) - heel: relatively high knuckle clearance - criteria: prioritise food release; convex edge grind, not mirror finish

I have a 10" blade with the Shun patterns on each side. The only stamping I can find on the blade is a small patch that has the KAI logo, "DM-0707", "Cobalt MV Stell", "Made in Japan", and at the bottom "10" Chef". There is a small circle with the letters "MSF" in it. Is this a Shun?

Looking for a Christmas present for my husband! Curious what REPUTABLE places you would recommend to go. He’s not a professional chef, but he likes to cook, loves knives, and has always wanted something Damascus. TIA!

Looking to buy a gyuto in the $200-$300 range. I’ve looked on chefknivestogo but I have no idea where to really start. Any recommendations from this wonderful community? I’d also take any suggestions on a solid pairing/petty too.

Started learning on a santoku 12 years ago. I only cook meat on holidays and special occasions. Should I invest in a high quality santoku or expand my kit with a nakiri? I consider my skill with the santoku to be near advanced but am experiencing fomo.

So I am looking for a great Nakiri and was interested in Aogami #2. Is this a good TBE option? https://www.musashihamono.com/products/nakiri-blue-steel-2-kurouchi-buffalo-magnolia-handle-165mm?variant=40124647342275&currency=JPY&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_c
