This is a community of chamber music players and composers of the acoustic variety.
For hundreds of years humans have entertained themselves with written music from acoustic instruments. There is a resurgence of new music and a plethora collection of old music now online.
Whether you are a chamber musician, a fan, an educator or a composer this is the place for music played by humans.

title says most of it but me (piano) and our violinist are in the clear. started rehearsal of a trio and had our first college coaching session this morning and me and the violinist were well practiced and rehearsed. We knew the music and were prepared and so i am so frustrated and embarrassed at how poorly our cellist was prepared. in rehearsal he was fine but he spent the whole coaching session writing fingerings and bowings because our professor thought he played so poorly. it's frustrating because all three of us have good chamber music and large ensemble experience, and extensive classical music experience, so i just feel ashamed. we are college freshman with lots of experience and although i know me and the violinist aren't perfect I feel as though my groupmates and (now because of our cellist) our professor doesn't take it seriously. I want to gain experience and begin to engage in more serious chamber music performance but it feels like being held back. I'm so excited and very much ready (in terms of technique) to learn trios and quintets and perform at higher level but now i feel like the next semester of college is doomed to be a drag in terms of my growth as a chamber musician. thanks for letting me rant reddit (if this doesn't get taken down).
I just started a new string quartet with a few other friends. We are all well acquainted with the world of classical music, but none of us are quite sure where to start. What quartets are the easiest to work with? Which ones will allow us to gain better understandings of eachotherโs musical characters?
Hey, I'm James and I run a small publishing outfit, Ensemble Llama Music. I have a wide ranging catalog of chamber music - wind quintets, string quartets, brass quintets, saxophone quartets and more.
One of my favorite things to do is give back to others, so every once in a while I give away sheet music. This year, I'm doing so from today until February 1st.

Here is a piece I wrote for string quartet and voice. The work explores the ideas of objective and subjective realities.
We are looking for pieces, but don't know how to search. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
