Hello all, I am a cartography novice, but I am attempting to make a global clock using an Azimuthal equidistant with far-side perspective. In my mind's eye, I'd like the azimuthal for the northern hemisphere (twilight) and then have the southern portion flare out proportionally with the void space filled in, so when the clock hits 12 o'clock, let's say, it will should the entire longitude hitting 12 o'clock. I am unsure of the terminology for such and arrangement. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction in terms of terminology or design type?
The mountain range to the East is impassable, and blocks access to the rest of the continent. Does this have any 'real world' counterparts?
Lore wise, a good portion of (surviving) humanity fled across the sea from their home which met with calamity, and landed here. They are forced to make to with what they got.
I'll very likely need to update the rivers, but along the rivers specifically, where might Cities be ideally built up? Independent City-States are the form of government/civilization present here, trading amongst each other but governing themselves.
Lastly, here is a guide to hopefully give you some insight on what I had envisioned. Keep in mind, this is no where near my final draft.
Dark green (South): Marshlands
Dark green (North): Great Forest, Elven lands
Green: Forest
Light green: Sparse Forestation, implied elevation. (Not sure if this makes any sense, but I hope you get the idea)
Reddish brown: Implied stone, ala mountains. (I just really love the color, I could likely swap it to something else, however I might work into the lore that this particular area has an abundance of this reddish stone)
I'm trying to see if someone can make Regional Maps based on this:
Just using an already existing map, would you cut it into nine sections that could be printed out and 3-hole punched to put into a binder? But still be able to print out the full map on a sheet that can be rolled up or folded up and given to the Players in a D&D game? Then the binder maps can be written on for DM notes and such.
Anyone want to try this?
Hello Cartographers, I'm building an RPG and was hoping to make a map for it. I bought Inkarnate and have been playing around with that. In the process, I realize I have much to learn about this craft. What resources and guides can y'all provide me? I'm really a novice about this, so anything from "here's the rough level of detail you want" to "here's how spread out different towns and villages should be in a 18th century country would be" are welcome.
I looking for someone to make town maps like this for a board game project. 8.5 x 11 inches. Some smaller towns like this and some larger kingdoms that take up 2 pages. Full color and the quality of this photo I have attached. I contacted this person but he is too busy at the moment to take on any work.
I attempted to join the Cartographers Guild Website but the registry was broken on all possible registry points, (Facebook, Email, different email, etc.)
Feel free to contact me at oathtoembers@gmail.com
I’m looking for a colour hex mapper/illustrator for a super cool old school rpg project. I’d require a small sample of the work desired in advance.
What the title says,
Right now, I am looking to start the craft of making digital maps. I feel like it will get me more immersed into the campaigns I run, plus it will help me customize things for when I am simply unsatisfied with the pre-made maps for adventures I run showing too many spoilers, or just being ugly,
I don't care if it's free or not, but please include that in your comment if you know. I want to make serious, *good* maps, but the process from a graphic design standpoint looks intimidating, so whatever help you can give me, I'm here for it!

This piece is based on the artwork of Elwira Pawlikowska, and is not meant for commercial reproduction. Go over to her page and show her some love, located at www.deviantart.com/grimdreamar…. While I have her permission to use this privately, and have no problem with others using this piece, be sure to credit her if you post it anywhere online.
Furthermore, it was a happy discovery to learn that Printable Scenery uses Ms. Pawlikowska's work to make 3D replicas, so be sure to go check out their stuff, too (www.printablescenery.com). Definitely some cool stuff in their online store that could be used to enhance any tabletop game. If I ever get Printable Scenery's permission, I'd love to put out a book of designs based on Evi's work as either a system agnostic or PF2e locations supplement.
I will be mapping out the second and third floor and cellar next.
My own design for Saga Edition d20 Star Wars. I'll include the write-up for flavor.
