I know this question probably gets asked a lot but I’m at my wits end. Over the last couple of years I’ve lost countless strains of beans thru lack of germination.

I’ve tried every method. Soak in water for 24 hours (also tried hydrogen peroxide solution) and place between damp paper towel, straight into the medium (coco) , coco pellets, rock wool, every tried and tested method recommended by growers of all experiences.

My beans are between 12 months and 12 years old. They’ve been stored in glass jars in cool, dark places. Some old work and some new work… currently most don’t.

My germination rate has been very low. For example if I attempt to germinate say 2 different varieties and say 3 of each I’m lucky to get one working.

The environment I try and germinate them in is around 77 Fahrenheit (25 degrees C) and about 60-70% humidity and still I’m only getting about 5% to pop.

Does tap water affect germination rate? I ph to 6 and I’ve also tried distilled water but the same unfortunate results ensue. Basically all fail to germinate. 😞

I used to live on the coast and had a 100% success rate and now live about 3000 feet above sea level (not sure if that’s got anything to do with it but thought I’d mention it)

What are the main reasons beans won’t germinate?
Appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Hi all. This is more of a curiosity post. I ordered beans from these people before. They came, everything was fine. This was quite a while ago. 3.5 years actually. I’ve been back a few times and there are still plenty of beans being offered but no way to order. Does anybody have the gossip on this? Is there some secret way of ordering? Confusing…

Edit: I have contacted them a few times now and never get an answer back.

This is my second grow so I am still a rookie I am on week seven and i am already seeing some amber on the buds you think it will be ready for week eight chop ?
