I used to live in San Diego in the 90s and my local tacqueria as well as others had machaca burritos with shredded stewed beef, peppers and onions egg and potato. Perfect late night dinner after working the late shift or hangover food. It seems like this is not a thing in many places. even here on this sub a search for Machaca comes up blank. Does it go under any other names in other parts of the country or is it a uniquely San Diego thing?
note this was a pretty authentic place with spicy pickled carrot slices in a jar next to the cash register
Hello, I did this year on keto with my nutritionist due to some blood test concerns. I have a few meticulous cheat meals but everytime i buy a burrito it sucks. (My country it's not very kind with foreign food). Sooo I've decided to build my own. I don't think it'll be easy to find the right wrap so I'll need some guidance on that and on fillings (I don't like the idea of rice in it but if you say that's what slaps I'm up for it). Also I've lot of dried chiles, don't know if it can help.
I figure y'all would know out of anyone
