Burnaby is a city in British Columbia, Canada, located immediately to the east of Vancouver. It is the third-largest city in British Columbia by population, surpassed only by nearby Surrey and Vancouver itself.

Group of 9 brats presumably from Burnaby South went around egging houses on Halloween. 4 wore hoodies, 4 wore tuques. One wore a lame camo sleeve and bandana.
If you think you're all too old to go trick or treating and would rather vandalize, maybe you can go eat McDicks together instead.
Hi there! I’m wondering if there are any good women’s gyms or gyms that’s have women’s sections/spaces. Thanks so much :)
I leave my front lights on, have a couple pumpkins out front, but it doesn’t even seem like kids are out knocking on doors. What happened? (My neighbourhood was riddled with kids ((including myself)) my whole time growing up, but they thin out every year. Are they skipping the trick or treatin’ and going straight to the fireworks? Possibly even the liquor drinking? Staying inside and mobile device using?) Am i the only one who feels this way?
Hey Reddit,
In the past 2 months i have heard very loud explosions that accompany a flash of light, followed by a puff of smoke randomly in the air. Even with all my windows closed the sound was incredibly loud and startled me and my cat.
I know it’s Halloween but I’m 100% that is not fireworks given that this has happened multiple times before.
These loud explosions seem to occur near Griffith and 18th Ave, right by the skytrain.
Has anyone seen or heard of anything similar?
I lost my job as an ophthalmic tech in Oct and I'm doing some gig work while job searching. I created my Rover account recently but struggling to get any booking because I have no review. Therefore I'm taking it to Reddit to offer my drop in service at a discounted rate. I have a 10yo cat and am familiar with cat care. I can come over to your house and feed your pet, scoop litter, ensure fresh water, etc. I'm open to meet up before you book as well :) please DM me if you're interested in a referral code to book in Rover. I can book off of Rover if you'd like.
I haven’t seen Halloween decor in the neighbourhood, so my question would be where should I take my kids for trick or treating? Is there any specific area?
Sadly the crack is half a foot away from reaching the other side 😔
I’ll be moving to lower mainland in a month and loathe static drilling. I know On Guard, Kaboom, and Nimbus use constraint led approach, are there any more in the Burnaby or Coquitlam area? Thanks in advance.
Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out on behalf of a friend who is seeking clarification on the residential parking gate rules in Burnaby.
From what my friend understands, P1 is designated for visitors and commercial vehicles, while P2 to P5 are accessible only to residents through an automated gate. When a vehicle approaches, the gate opens, and the vehicle can enter. However, it must wait for the gate to close before proceeding. If the gate doesn't close properly, a fine may be imposed by Strata.
Here are a couple of questions my friend has:
My friend is confused because some drivers don't seem to follow these rules, causing impatience and arguments. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Does anyone know of calligraphy classes in Burnaby? Especially around north Burnaby area? I got a calligraphy gift set from a friend and haven't been able to use it because I don't know how to but want to learn.
Hey everyone! 👋
I wanted to share something I’ve been working on with a few classmates at SFU—Gear2Peer. It’s a peer-to-peer rental marketplace where people can rent and lend outdoor gear within their own communities. It came from a pretty familiar problem: outdoor equipment is expensive, and for anyone who wants to try new activities (skiing, climbing, kayaking, backpacking, etc.), the cost of gear alone is a huge barrier.
On the other hand, many of us have that “collection” of gear piling up in our closets—stuff we don’t use enough but aren’t ready to part with. Gear2Peer connects people who need gear with people who have it to share, helping lower costs for renters and earning some extra $$ for lenders.
Some key benefits we’re aiming for:
If you’re into outdoor activities or have gear you could rent out, I’d love for you to check out Gear2Peer.ca and let me know what you think. Constructive feedback and thoughts on what features would be most useful are super welcome!
Also, if you’ve got ideas on how to get the word out, I’m all ears. Thanks so much for reading! 😊
A car crashed into the sidewalk
Noticed it when giving my toddler a bath. Is it safe? Toilet bowl, tub and all faucets have dark water. Is this a city waterline issue?
If so, where do you usually park? Do you pay for annual parking? Or have you found any free parking options near the gym? Thank you!
I found it in the family washroom near Old Navy at Metrotown, together with a fancy credit card with your name on it. Let it be known that the WHO has suggested that we avoid taking cell phones into the washroom.
I live in the burquitlam area but I’m open to other cities as well. Looking to work with youth or kids, but not picky, just want to help out in the community. Anyone know anywhere that’s looking for volunteers or places I should check out? Or even holiday volunteer options? Thanks in advance!
Hii I'm looking for a great hair salon around new west, Burnaby, or Vancouver. I don't mind paying a little more for a really good quality cut and colour. Someone who actually knows how to work with different hair textures and analyze face shape to help pick the perfect style. Bonus if they can do good alternative hairstyles!! I find it so hard to find anything on Google now cause all you get is top results and sponsored links. Any help is grateful thank you!
I have a long commute in the morning & by the time I hit metrotown station around 7:30am I often need to use the washroom ... the other day I went into Metrotown because I saw a group of people walking into the mall so I figured the washrooms were open. Wasn't the case, they were locked which is understandable considering it's not within mall hours. Anyways, any washroom suggestions? Lol this is starting to cause anxiety.
Google is nearly worthless now - is there a bike store in North Burnaby? Anything north of Lougheed and between Boundary and Burnaby Mountain?
(I went past "Salita Cyclery" on Hastings near Willingdon and saw them scraping the name off the window, so I think they closed?)
EDIT: correction, as some have replied, Salita has moved next door and is not closed.
Hello I’m currently going through the annoying process of finding a job, i’ve applied at multiple places with no answer and honestly I’m pretty close to giving up. I live in the Burnaby East area but would also be able to work in New Westminster, I’m trying to find a job so that I can eventually pay for my university as it is not possible for my family to. I have lots of experience volunteering and working with others, and am a natural leader. However I probably will only be available to work on Wednesday evenings and the weekend. I hope that somehow this can reach the right person!!!
Something weird I've noticed about Vancouver is that people on the Skytrain move like zombies. When the train comes to the stop, people get off, and then everyone walks in EXTREMELY SLOWLY. Almost like they're in a trance. Its maddening.
I've used subways in other cities, people just walk in straight away.
What is the point of moving that slow?
